JourneeBox is now ready to offer its Tubingen Box, celebrating the German city of Tübingen. We now have the fifth spoiler:

Spoiler #5: Tagebuch Fountain Pen

Retail Value: $15

Bring the artistic flair of the fountain pen along with you on your next Journee. First invented by a German scholar in 1636, the fountain pen revolutionized travel writing by making pen and ink portable for the first time.

Long treasured for smoothness and versatility, refillable fountain pens offer an eco-friendly alternative to disposable pens. Our pen comes displayed in a custom-designed box, which is embellished with a golden JourneeBox dragonfly icon and opens to reveal the pen nestled in place.

The pen measures 5.5” and is composed of stainless steel and carbon fiber with a German ink cartridge. The display box measures 7” x 1.2” x 2.2”.

Spoiler #4: Tübingen Multi-Media Coloring Book Set

Retail Value: Coloring book $15; Colored pencils $9

Discover the dynamic beauty and charm of Tübingen in this specially commissioned coloring book. Each illustration is inspired by the stunning photography of Kevia’s aunt-in-law Ginny Dittrich and the picturesque setting of historic Tübingen.

Find inspiration in the full-color photographs to create your own masterpiece with the included colored pencils. Beautifully packaged in a tube with an integrated sharpener, these lush colors are ready for any Journee.

The 60-page coloring book is printed on recycled paper and measures 8.5” x 11”.

The set of colored pencils contains twelve 7.5” pencils, made of FSC certified wood.

Spoiler #3: Tubingen Plätzchen Rolling Pin

Retail Value: $20

Enjoy the Winter Holiday treat of Springerle, an embossed cookie whose origins trace to the 14th century in Tubingen and surrounding hamlets in the Swabian region of southern Germany.

Create unique baked goods for holiday celebrations with our embossed rolling pin. Simply roll the laser-cut solid beech wood pin over cookie dough to embellish the surface with a beautiful feathered scroll-work pattern before cutting into shapes and baking to perfection.

Ideal for use with rolled-out gingerbread or sugar cookie dough, our 14” Plätzchen rolling pin is crafted of laser-cut solid German AA-Grade beech wood. Can also be used for decorative display or crafting with clay.

Spoiler #2: Tubingen Swabian Market Candle

Value: $39

Indulge in the scents of German Christmas Markets with this long-lasting soy wax candle. Beautifully packaged with a map of the city, the Swabian-inspired mix of juniper and vanilla evokes the evergreen boughs and sweet spices of the Advent season.

A visit to the Christmas Market promises a chance to wander labyrinthine cobblestone streets and admire medieval architecture while enjoying holiday decorations and delicious gingerbread under a canopy of festive, twinkling lights.

Our 3” soy-wax candle, packaged in a modern gray glass votive emblazoned with the Tubingen city crest, has a burning time of 45 hours.

What was the first spoiler?

Spoiler #1: Tubingen BasteIn Apron

Value: $65

Experience the spirit of German arts and crafts with this beautifully designed utility apron. The elegant pattern is a contemporary rendition of the blue and white ceramics first popularized in Germany in the eighteenth century.

This modern apron is designed with durable suspender-style straps and metal buckles to allow a custom fit that keeps you comfortable as you cook, craft, tinker, and garden in style.

Styled in 100% organic cotton and equipped with plenty of pockets for tools, paintbrushes, and gadgets, the dove-gray Tubingen Apron measures 33 x 27 inches and is fully adjustable to fit.

Got my box today and must say I’m quite pleased with the quality and presentation of items. Makes a wonderful Christmas gift. I’m impressed & very happy!

Carol

yay, my 4th (& final) box has shipped at last!

Mary L.

Is it actually moving or does the tracking number just show that the label has been printed?

Hoping you all get your boxes before the holidays!

Reply ButtonReply

Mary L.

Great news!

Carol

Priority Mail was used so box arrived today.

Sheri Hoffman

This site has really gone to heck in a handbrake. I used to visit here several times a day and now it is like once a week or longer. And where are the spoilers for the various Advent boxes? Sheesh.

Reply ButtonReply

Laura

I agree. It’s so sad.

Reply ButtonReply

Sheri Hoffman

Where is spoiler 6 and 7?

Reply ButtonReply

Mary L.

For those who are planning for holiday gifting, their email with the last spoilers said this:

“Half of the box items are in our warehouse and the other half cleared customs in Seattle this week! We will keep you posted as more details are available.”

Not sure what the shipment time is from customs to their warehouse to your boxes, but FYI.

Lorina

It’s frustrating that they won’t tell us which item we won’t be getting as “quarterly” subscribers.

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

They just came out with the last spoilers today. The necklace is the annual only item while the earrings are for both. The earrings are the more unique of the two (I’ve seen similar necklaces elsewhere anyway.) They come in either silver or gold tone.

Reply ButtonReply

Sheri Hoffman

Where are you finding these spoilers?

Cynthia

Why do spoilers cover 3 months? That has to be crazy frustrating to subscribers!

Reply ButtonReply

Stephanie

Oh wow subscribers get a pen made in China. I’m so sad I’m not subscribed, I really needed a 2 cent cheap pen. Oops I mean a $15 dollar one 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Reply ButtonReply

Mary L.

I really like everything posted so far but seeing as they are two weeks behind on an already drawn-out spoiler schedule, I’m not biting.

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

This box is great so far! Last box was good – loved the necklace and tea cup – but it didn’t seem like a great value per se.

This box I’ve liked every spoiler! I’ve been wanting a patterned rolling pin for so long, and the art activity is fun and works perfect for me. The apron isn’t one I’d pick myself but it works great for the theme, I might use it as a crafting apron as it looks practical, too. I can’t wait to see the rest of the spoilers. 🙂

Tolin

I hope, for the sake of those wanting to “journey” to Tübingen through this box, that at least one of the items has something to do with the university, which is what the city is most known for.

I don’t think that I’ve been to this site in years, but happy to see that it’s still going strongly. This is a lovely box. My son (avid traveler) spent his November in Germany last year and loved the country. I absolutely LOVE that they have one of those cookie rolling pins. This is my first temptation to re-subscribe.

I am loving everything about this curation and am so happy that I already ordered for my SIL for Christmas.
.
Now I’m thinking that I may need to treat myself to this box, too!

Reply ButtonReply

Pam

Cross your fingers your present gets delivered before Xmas. This box has been ridiculously late. Like subscribers only receiving 2 boxes a year. This has been going on for a couple years now, quite possibly 3.

Reply ButtonReply

Alycat

Yep since the start of COVID I sign up for annual membership. And was told you get 4 boxes one for ever quarter. I’m still waiting for my last box and that 3 years ago. So one a year. I can’t wait for it to come and be done with the stress. It’s supposed to be enjoyable not when will I ever get what paid for. They will not refund you. Believe me I have tried. Buyer be warned.

Maddie in PA

P.S. My enthusiasm for this box makes me realize how over beauty/makeup boxes I am these days…

Reply ButtonReply

MaryBeth

Same. I’m really over makeup/skincare/body care. Just give me fun and unique lifestyle stuff.

Emily

I still haven’t recieved my Nottingham box that was supposed to arrive in July. I have an annual subscription and received my first 2 boxes and they were great. I have tried reaching out 3 or 4 times about my Nottingham box and have received zero reply. I have never written a bad review before in my life but I am very upset right now.

Reply ButtonReply

Leo@Journeebox

I am so sorry if you haven’t received your Nottingham box. Please reach out to us via live chat for the fastest resolution. We would love to resolve this for you!

JC

Blue and white pottery makes me think of Delft pottery from the Netherlands, not Germany.
Hopefully they can get it shipped in the first (or is this already the second or third) timeline they publish. Pretty sure this was suppose to be last year’s Winter box.

Reply ButtonReply

Kelly

I live about 30 mins from Tubingen. For $40 I’ll drive there and buy you a candle.

Reply ButtonReply

Julia

And your candle wouldn’t be from China and marked “Kevia.”

Reply ButtonReply

Kristin

I thought it was from Oregon? Or maybe I can’t read fast enough.

Stephanie

Exactly!!! 😂 all their products are made in China with the exception of the lowest priced item, like a chocolate bar which is the only thing from the actual place.

Maddie in PA

I love what I’m seeing so far and am excited to get this as a one-time gift from my SIL for Christmas. Given what I’ve read over the past several months, I just wish I had some faith that it will arrive before the holiday.

Am anxious to see what comes next but this box already has the value and curation I know my SIL will appreciate!

(P.S. My comment may get purged for this but I really miss Liz…)

Reply ButtonReply

Maddie in PA

Sorry, I meant FOR my sister-in-law, not “from” (although that would be funny and something we’d do!)

Reply ButtonReply

Sheri Hoffman

I am liking both the apron and candle.

Reply ButtonReply

Dea

Great close-up photo of the candle manufacturing line in China. A three-inch candle with an MSRP of $39? Kevia, you’re not Neiman Marcus.

Reply ButtonReply

Taren

Following to see if I’ll re-up after all the issues in the past 2 years. Germany is my favorite, but not liking the label branding across the belly, makes it feel cheap. That said this was literally my favorite box for years.

Reply ButtonReply

MaryBeth

Beautiful apron! I hope it fits plus sized. I’m excited about this box since it will be my first quarterly one after subscribing. 😃

Reply ButtonReply

Lorina

Is this the hero item that quarterly subscribers won’t receive?

Reply ButtonReply

Leo@Journeebox

Hello! This is not the annual bonus item. Stay tuned and we will announce that too. Thank you!

Reply ButtonReply

Shanna Delap

Leo chat is down and you’d told me to contact you. I was charged again with no shipments.

Julia

They lost me at the prominent branding across the belly button. Will this ship in March? Is that what “December” really means? (Sorry for the snark – it’s been a crazy day.)

Reply ButtonReply

Leo@Journeebox

Hello! Rest assured this will ship in November-December.

Reply ButtonReply

Stephanie

I agree with Laura too! This sub has become 1 box a year for the past 3 years. Who would actually believe they would fulfill their promise of delivery Nov/Dec. now you may beget a shipping label but no actual boxes will be in anyones hands in December.

Mary L.

Is customization open yet? If not, I would say Laura is right and the chances of these arriving by Christmas are slim to none.

Melissa Baker

Ummm, Laura, in case you didn’t know, this month is still December.

Laura

Well, that didn’t age well
