See New Skincare Pauses Boxes Until January

See New Skincare is pausing their subscription service until January 1, 2023, according to an email sent to subscribers earlier this week. Their storefront will remain open, however.

In August, we shared that they were putting a hold on their September/October box.

Here is the full email sent this week:

I did not receive all the boxes I prepaid for and my email said I’d get credit. Well I got points which added up to a 20% discount. I am so angry about this and emailed them and never got a reply. I’d recommend not doing business with this company.

As expected, the company sent out an email to say their subscription box is being paused indefinitely. I logged into my account and canceled my subscription.

Haven’t got the email yet but not surprised either. I wonder if they’ll refund the boxes I prepaid and never received.

I really wanted to try this box after pandemic life was over and regular life has resumed. Didn’t get my chance… might be a good thing as I remember how GREAT PSMH, Luxor Box, Oui Please, and several other boxes started out. Over time, they just couldn’t sustain the quality and still hit their profit point.

I think that’s what happened here. I was reading a website of an up and coming hair care site and the pandemic destroyed their salon display set up and walk in traffic sales. They turned to untried Internet business ( no prior history with the product brand to ANYONE) and are now starting to offer multi-use sample packs before selling their full sized items cold.

I had never heard of a brand this See New box offered and I am a person who loves to try new brands and ideas. It’s very sad that they are not able to be successful direct to consumer with their boxes. It could be ANY of us who took the huge financial plunge in 2019 or early 2020 when the world changed, slowed, and some really great people got sick and not all survived.

Hmmmm. What does a “minimalist curation of luxury skincare” even mean? How is it different than their previous boxes before they paused their subscription service? I guess we’ll find out, but I would prefer more specific information.

I took it to mean they weren’t only going to focus on only women owned and clean skincare companies, but not entirely sure.

I think it means that their subscription box days are over. They will be a small site that sells six high priced obscure / niche brands of beauty products.

I translate that as: Fewer products for more of your money!

This is one of those things that make you go hmmm…
