First Impressions

Everything comes neatly packaged and wrapped with tissue paper, sealed with a sticker. Prior to purchasing a subscription, PinkSeoul will ask you several customization questions. Some products are more appropriate/recommended for a particular skin type, so be sure to figure out your skin type (I can't believe how long I thought I had oily skin!). Also, PinkSeoul has now switched to electronic info sheets, sent to your email when your box ships. I always get a little excited when I rip the tissue paper/sticker to see what comes in my box - the extra step with the packaging really adds to the overall experience.

We also received this sample this month.

The Breakdown – What’s Inside The Box

Petitfee Beautifying Toner, 150 mL - Retail Value $15.40

This toner is made with apple fruit extract, Camelia flower vinegar, and evening primrose oil. It's designed to smooth skin texture and hydrate, and I found it to be gentle on my sensitive skin. It has a noticeable scent when you first use it, but it fades pretty quickly (and I thought the scent was nice).

Elizavecca Elastic Pore Cleansing Foam, 120 mL - Retail Value $12.50

For a cleansing foam I was not expecting this to have an opaque black consistency that was a little runny- I guess the 5% charcoal powder will do that. When water is added this does foam up nicely, and it doesn't leave my face feeling like it has been stripped of moisture the way many similar cleansing foams have. I still think this is more suited for those with oily skin for daily use, but this is a nicely formulated cleanser.

Mediflower Calming Bouncy Stick Balm, 10 mL - Retail Value $8.92

This is neat- it's a balm for soothing sensitive skin in a convenient stick form that I can rub directly onto my face rather than having to stick my fingers into a jar. This is formulated with four derivatives of Centella Asiatica (my skin loves Cica!), and it also has peptides and soothing botanicals. This balm is super handy for travel because I don't have to worry about a jar or bottle leaking (unless I leave it in a hot car...), which is great because flying tends to exacerbate my rosacea–I just got back from spending weekend with my fiancé in the town he is stationed at, and my cheeks are extra red. This does have that sort of balm-y, wax-y finish that doesn't bother me when I use it as the last step in a skincare routine because it feels like it's sealing all of my nice products into my skin, but I know not everyone is a fan.

SNP Dual Pop Comfort Eye Patch - Retail Value $18

I am a really, really happy camper when a full-size jar of eye gels shows up in a subscription box, and these patches from SNP felt like a special treat. They're made with two ingredients my skin loves- the blue side is infused with Ceramide NP to help promote hydration, while the green side is infused with Centella Asiatica for optimal soothing. I view eye gels as a lifestyle: I use them even if I am not hoping to target a specific skin concern, but because the cooling hydrogel texture feels so nice on my face (especially after staring at a screen all day). However, these have an extra dose of awesome inside of them, both in terms of the serum they're infused with but also just in the general packaging of this entire product.

Real Barrier Essence Mist, 30 mL - Estimated Value $4.80 (buy the 100 mL version for $16)

I've tried a lot of the products from the Real Barrier product line thanks to a subscription box sending me a travel set from the brand a year or so ago, but I am still happy to see repeats inside my sub boxes because they're really solid performing products. This essence mist has hyaluronic acid and a calming complex of panthenol, madecassoside, and allantoin, and my dry, sensitive skin absolutely drinks it up.

Neogen Dermalogy Bio-Peel Gauze in Green Tea, Lemon, and Red Wine, 6 ct (2 of each) - Retail Value $23.94 ($3.99 each)

These Neogen Dermatology peeling gauze pads are really popular, and I can see why- they were really gentle on my sensitive skin, yet were still effective at leaving my skin softer and more smooth. The performance of these three were largely comparable, though I think my skin liked the green tea pads a tad more because they also had Centella Asiatica. You can buy these pads in a large jar of thirty which will be more cost-effective for sure, but I am happy we got these individually-wrapped ones from PinkSeoul- the individual packaging makes them super convenient for travel. And if it sounds like I travel a lot... I do, with my fiancé stationed on a military base the next state over and neither of us wanting to go too long without seeing each other when it can be helped. But where I go, my skincare comes with me!

Some By Mi Hyaluron Moisturizing Glow Luminous Ampoule Mask - Retail Value $2.49

This sheet mask is what I call juicy- it definitely was dripping with hydrating essence, but that didn't bother me because my neck and décolletage can use some skincare love, too. This has a triple hyaluronic acid blend and aloe vera saturated into a thin, air-light sheet mask material (that was honestly a little difficult to unfold), and my dry skin absolutely loved it.

Petitfee Silk Amino Serum Mask - Estimated Value $2 (buy a box of 10 for $20)

This sheet mask was nice. It's made with aloe, amino acids, fruit extract, and what they call "vegetable worms extract" (not sure what's going on there but I am going with it), and the sheet mask material itself is a very soft cotton material that feels plush on my skin. My skin enjoyed soaking in all of the essence this had to offer, and I thought there was a bit of a luminous glow to my cheeks when the mask was finally removed.

Key Takeaways

This month's box from PinkSeoul was truly fantastic- as I was opening the box and pulling the products out, it felt like the good things kept going and going and going. The stars for me were the SNP eye patches and the Neogen peeling gauzes, but I loved discovering the Mediflower balm and the Petitfee toner. It's going to take a lot of bells and whistles for a cleanser to excite me, but the one sent this month from Elizavecca was definitely a solid performer. If you like receiving full-size products and discovering K-Beauty products, then this is a subscription box you should seriously consider checking out - I always have fun every two months when this arrives at my door.

My box arrived yesterday and I LOVE it!! I received a different toner, Haruharu Black Rice toner Extra Mild, but all the other items were the same as yours.

I didn’t know how to use the peeling pads, and appreciate your calm explanation so much, I didn’t get a card in my box but maybe they are passe’ now. I was a bit afraid of them, for a reason I’ll now explain.

I chemically burned my face yesterday with a great brand of Vitamin C serum and night cream. I was not out in the sun at all. Until I remembered I have Benadryl and Aloe gel, my face was a red, puffy, burning mess and it looked and felt like I’d ruined my face. * I am 64 years old but don’t use any cosmetic fillers, Botox or other MD strength preparation so when my skin reacts ( very rarely) it is just my face and not a thing that will settle in.*

The Holika Holika Aloe Vera gel I have in a huge leaf shaped bottle is doing amazing things to get the redness and puffiness out. I won’t be using double Vitamin C again, no matter how great the US brand.

Korean skin care is so affordable and so actively healing. Pink Seoul Plus is a great box for all, IMO. I don’t think many boxes are ” great”. The only other in the ” This is truly effective” category for me is BistroMD, which I’ve lost 50 Pandemic pounds using, and for which I left a review here. I’m so happy to be wearing my fave jeans again! 🙂

Hi, Lilly A!
I’m glad you loved your box! I shared a video to my social media channels of me using the peeling pads if you need more guidance. If your skin barrier is still feeling sensitive from over-exfoliating, these are also nice to exfoliate the backs of your hands and cuticles!

I also agree on Bistro MD- they’re an amazing service with great science behind their meals!

I will look for your video but am not really on SM much. Just watch You Tube demos.
I’d so like to talk to you about Bistro MD and the NEW MEALS. Not sure if you know about them yet, or want to know. 🙂 Amazing new changes with the foods, though.
I refuse to eat any poultry because of the avian flu epidemic- we could wake up to a poultry-less world very easily as it is in crisis mode, so I’m picking out many new, different meals on Bistro MD.
Almost to my pre- pandemic weight. Not going to stress over sizing or the exact numbers any longer, though. 🙂 Life’s too sweet and too short to stress.
