Little Passports is a subscription box that helps kids explore the world through fun and educational activities. They offer a range of subscription options, and they recently came out with an Animals Wild box for ages 3-5 that explores different animals around the world and their habitats.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

Our box theme this month was "Creep Through the Outback!" and these creepy critters felt timely for fall!

What's Inside This "Animals Wild" Box?

This booklet introduced us to our habitat and provided instructions for our game.

Game Materials

We received some cardboard pieces, critter cards and some foam animals to punch out.

Pop-up Playset

Each box includes an innovative pop-up playset of our habitat. It comes with a cardboard clip to hold it open along with four cardboard animals to assemble for play. The orange strip of paper opened up to give us some assembly instructions.

The playset is divided into four different sections and there are lots of flaps to open with activities and fun facts which make it engaging and interactive!

The Activities

First, we worked on putting together our cardboard animals for our habitat playset. These critters were especially fun. I love that our bat hangs from the tree and that our owl's wings extend!

First, we assembled our cave. It has a slit at the top to stick our critters in and a little thin foam screen at the front for us to reach through. Fun!

Then my son popped out all the foam critters while I separated our game cards.

He slipped the critters through the slot at the top and then gave it a good shake. Then we set our cards up in front of the cave and we were ready to play!

Playing the game was easy and fun. We reached into the cave and grabbed a critter, if it matched one of the cards, we got to keep it, but if we got a different one we put it back. If you got the snake, you had to put one of your collected cards back. The kids enjoyed playing this, and I actually did, too. It's perfect for this age group and even a little older!

Value - Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $27.95 + free shipping

The playset is fun and interactive and the game was a neat one that we really enjoyed. I love that this is both educational and engaging, but I'd still love to see a few more physical items in the box to round out the value!

Key Takeaways

My sons both have so much fun with this box - it allows my younger son to work on his fine motor skills while teaching him about animals and this box always leads to some great play time as well!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!
