DateBox Club September 2022 Review

This month's DateBox Club introduced the Date Night Match-Up game. It consists of fun challenges and games to find the ultimate champion. I was excited about this game.

The Date

The date is all about the game. You have to set up the game, open the snacks, and play the Spotify playlist set for this month's box. The box includes everything you'll need to start the game, including the cards, cups, and snacks. This game pairs really well with drinks and hand foods!

The game is relatively simple; each card gives you a challenge, and you have to do it faster, win a card, or duel. When you finish a challenge, the winner takes the card. You can also win trophy rewards that include prizes like date and movie night, back massages, and my favorite: win an argument card.

At the end of the date, whoever has the most cards wins the trophy! You can leave the award unnoticed to remind your partner who the ultimate winner is.

However, there are 45 challenges in this game, which I think was too much. I'd probably just do about 10-15 challenges. Otherwise, you'll spend the whole night playing this game, which can be too much.

Of course, there's a little trophy for the winner! In this case, me! I'm just kidding, my super competitive husband took the award, but I'm returning for a do-over later.

The Verdict

This game is too expensive at $41.95. I wish the date included other items or fancier snacks for the game. I wouldn't pay over $40 for a card deck challenge. The idea is fun, and I can see us opening the game box occasionally. But I wasn't 100% sold on this month's content. Maybe the next one will do!

To Wrap Up

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? If you order after the first of the month, you may receive next month's box as your first box, depending on availability.
