First Impressions

Boxycharm always arrives with a cute card detailing all of the products inside and listed retail values.

Now, on to the items!

Wander Beauty On-the-Glow Blush & Illuminator in 'Bare' – Retail Value $38

I an a big Wander Beauty fan and I also love cream formulas, so this double-ended stick was a match made in heaven! One side has a peachy cream blush that looks very flattering on my skin while the other is a radiant cream highlighter. I love both of these shades! And the formula itself is so pigmented and smooth. I took this stick a little further and tried the cheeks shade on my lips which was also pretty freaking gorgeous!

Ace Beauté 'Violet Sage' Palette - Retail Value $33

When I first opened this palette I was struck at how "spring" it felt. And while I still think that holds true, after I swatched each of the 10 shades it felt more versatile for this time of year, too. The deep burgundy shades and the moody greens are perfect for fall and I can also see that dark purple being gorgeous for winter. The texture and pigment levels of all of these shades are a dream. Even the mattes are smoky and vibrant while the metallics/shimmers are so smooth and reflective. You can get loads of day-to-night looks in these 10 shades, and I think this is one of the most versatile color stories I have received this year.

Ciaté London Bamboo Bronzer in 'South Beach' – Retail Value $25

I love to hate this brand but they got me here. This bronzer is so so so pretty. It is a rich tan with golden glitter flakes. Can I use it as a bronzer? Not really. I struggle with bronzers. But as an eyeshadow crease shade? A darn dream. And I know you shouldn't just use face products near your eyes but I like to live on the edge, ok? And this shade is so buttery and smooth and flattering. It blends out into such a flattering and natural crease.

Vintage by Jessica Liebeskind Sparkling Lip Gloss in 'Pink Sequin' – Retail Value $25

I kind of expected to fall in love with this gloss. Looking at the box gave me vibes of Besame, but after opening that cute box, I was left holding a lightweight tube that felt less vintage and special and a little more generic. I would say the same thing about the gloss itself. It is a fine lip gloss with a nice sparkle, but the formula also feels maybe a little too basic and unworthy of such a cute box. Still, it is a nice shine for my lips and I am sure I will use it.

Basic Beauty Latte & Cocoa Gel Lip Liner Duo - $24

My last item was a lipliner duo that felt oh-so 90s! The warmers shades bring me back to overlined lips and gloss on top, and while I am not sure I am personally ready to time travel back to then, the formula of these gel liners was smooth, pigmented, and longer lasting. When I take the 90s plunge, these will be great additions to my kit.

Verdict

This month's BoxyCharm had a value of $145, which is nice for the price of the subscription. And while I thought this curation felt super springy at first, there was a lot more versatility inside as I dove in. I am currently obsessed with the Wander stick and that eyeshadow palette. A dream! And the bronzer really took me by surprise. The lip liners might be a little more fashion-forward than I feel these days and the gloss was a tad underwhelming, but all in all I really liked this delivery a lot!

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.
