Hoping for some bright new favorites this month to help me welcome spring!

What's Inside The Bag

So Susan Limited-Edition Makeup Bag, August 2022 - Retail Value $12

This artsy bag is a cool pattern that strays a little from what you'd expect from your typical So Susan monthly design. I dig it! As always, my favorite details are that the outside of the bag is easy to wipe clean, and the size could easily fit a day's touchup essentials.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Original Sheen Eyeshadow Palette

This palette is made up of eight warm and cool buttery shadows. Each color has a metallic sheen to it, making it pretty much a one-note ensemble. I wasn't particularly thrilled with this pick until I swatched each color. The colors have way more depth to them than what this palette lets on. Of course, I was still missing some matte and shimmer shades, but I was pleasantly surprised by how these frosty colors performed. Swatches below!

So Susan Cosmetics Lipopout in Social Butterfly  - Retail Value $18.95

Hot pink and red had a baby, and her name is Social Butterfly. This lovely lipstick and gloss hybrid goes on pigmented and has a gorgeous shine. The paper tube is so pretty, too! This is one you might have to touch up more, but it is so easy to swipe on, I didn't mind one bit.

Trifle Cosmetics Berry Gel Lip & Face Gloss - Retail Value $7.50

I think sheer berry gloss could literally go with any makeup look, whether you're just doing a five-minute makeup just to run out the door or you're doing a full-on glam look. It can warm up your face and give your lips some life, plus, berry is the most universal shade out there, in my opinion. You can use this alone for a little flush on the lips and lots of shine, or pair it with any lip color and it will absolutely pop.

Trifle Cosmetics Summer Souffle Bronzing Primer - Retail Value $24.95

Don't let the pigmentation scare you, fellow pale gals, this primer is universal, even on us paper white ladies out there. I am usually extremely opinionated about primers, but I didn't love or hate this one. I like the color and sheen as I mixed this product in with my foundation, but I wasn't excited about the fragrance in this face product. The texture is silky, as a primer should be, but it was slippery enough to cause my foundation to easily wipe off of my face (this definitely needs set with powder!). All things considered, I enjoyed this product, but I've definitely seen similar ones that perform a little better.

Swatched above (please excuse my swollen hand)—

Left side: Social Butterfly LipoPout, Bronzing Primer, Berry Gel

Right side: Original Sheen Palette

Please excuse my swollen face; 34 weeks pregnant, and believe me, I am ready aaaany time now!

I am wearing all of the products from this month's bag in this photo. You can see the sheen the primer added to my matte foundation, and the eyeshadows blended seamlessly into each other. I used both the lip products together, and now they're married; I love it!

Verdict

This month's So Susan Color Curate included some really fun products. I love the lip duo; the colors and formulas were totally my jam, and I was pretty thrilled to try out more of Jelly Pong Pong's buttery shadows and Trifle Cosmetics bronzing primer. This sub included 5 full-sized products (including this month's bag), and I think the value is fantastic for a $20.95 subscription!
