First Impressions

We have another one of these "Where is Baby's" books and it's super cute so I was excited to have a new one for baby boy!

Inside the Lillypost July 2022 Box

Lillypost always sends us a set of Finnley the Fox stickers along with a little note that introduces their coloring contest for the month. Kids can draw directly on the box and incorporate Finnley into the monthly theme, then share it on social media for a chance to win a prize. Our theme for this month is Construction!

Where is Baby's Beach Ball? by Karen Katz - Listed Value $7.99 (on sale for $6.99)

This is a fun and bright book, perfect for summer and perfect for babies and their tiny fingers! Baby is at the beach and looking for her beach ball. We get to go through the story and see if it is behind the various shapes which not only makes it exciting and interactive but also adds some tactile fun for your little one. There are also plenty of objects to count and name along with lots of colors to point out for those babies who are a bit older!

My 5-month-old was very interested in this book and couldn't keep his hands off of it despite my 4-year-old's best attempts to read it to him before letting him open the flaps!

The Worm Family Has its Picture Taken  by Jennifer Frank - Listed Value $17.99 (on sale for $12.30

Emma is excited to hear that her mother has booked a family portrait session for their family, but after she sees the amazing portraits that her friends' families have taken, she starts to think that theirs might not be as special. Worms aren't as colorful as butterflies and they don't have teeth for their big smiles, but Emma does come up with an idea. Unfortunately, it means they are all changed so much that the photographer doesn't even recognize them! In the end, Emma realizes that her family is different and special in their own way. This is a cute and sweet story that teaches kids that even though families aren't all the same, it doesn't make one better than the other! Cute illustrations, a sweet message, and a little bit of silliness made this book a winner for us!

Oliver the Curious Owl by Chad Otis - Listed Value $17.99 (on sale for $13.12)

Oliver certainly is a curious owl, always asking tons of questions! While most of the owls are only concerned with "who" Oliver also wants to know what, when, why, and where, as only the most curious of owls could! Soon he leaves home hoping to get some of those questions about everything outside of his tree answered and he meets another who is just as curious as he is. They venture on trying new things and most of all, learning new things as they get further and further from Oliver's tree. When he ends up getting too far away from home, it gets scary until he realizes that all of his questions might be able to help him figure out the way home! I love the illustrations in this one and the style was almost comic-like with lots of conversation bubbles and plenty of action along the way!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!
