First Impressions

Kinder Beauty sends out two box variations each month. This is a review of "The Cosmic Cleanse" for August 2022. Kinder Beauty sends a box guide each month listing the contents of your box, and you can visit kinderbeauty.com/mybox for tips and tricks on how to use your new products.

What's Inside This Box

Athr Beauty Moonlight Crystal Palette - Retail Value - $58.00

This palette is everything an adventurous makeup conneseur could wish for, so it fell into the right (swollen) hands. They provided a fair share of mattes, shimmers, and frosty finishes to really give any look dimension; the colors are bold and shockingly easy to work with, too.

I found the best way to blend such vibrant color is to use a white or nude eye primer and then generously apply a soft setting powder so you can freely move the pigment around without it being too patchy.

Alamar Cosmetics Spanglish Brush Trio - Retail Value - $18.00

There is nothing I appreciate more than receiving makeup tools in subscription boxes. I have 100 eyeshadow brushes, but 99 of them are always dirty. My favorite brand of makeup brushes has been the tried-and-true Real Techniques, and these show just as much quality as those at a similar cost. I will say I do love the style of these handles much more. All three brushes are dense, pick up powder well, and blend like a dream.

Laguna Herbals Restore Vegan Nail Serum - Retail Value - $25.00

One great thing about pregnancy is that my nails have been in excellent condition for months. I usually suffer from dry, brittle nails that crack and peel, so I am pretty well-versed in the world of cuticle oils. This one has a great texture; it uses a blend of safflower, grapeseed and sunflower oils to moisturize and nourish your nails and cuticles. I am surprised by how light it feels and how fast it was absorbed into my skin. I can't wait to try this when I will be really needing it this fall and winter.

Andalou Naturals Lavender Thyme Botanical Shave Cream - Listed Value - $10.99

Andalou is a fantastic skincare brand. I have never tried any of their body products, so I was happy to find this shaving cream in this month's box. I am really digging the fragrance and feel of this shave cream. It is moisturizing and provides a really nice barrier between your skin and razor. You don't need a lot, so this tube will last me quite some time.

Captain Blankenship Liquid Soap/Hand Sanitizer - Listed Value - $8.00

hand sanitizer

The description of this soap is a little misleading; I tried using it as a traditional sanitizer that you do not need to rinse off, but this is definitely a soap that remains sticky on your hands until you rinse it off. It is a great soap, actually. I love the texture, fragrance and the way it made my hands feel more supple after every wash. I am actually keeping this hand soap at work because our drying, antibacterial hand soap there was definitely not sparking any joy, especially at 9 months pregnant when the restroom is basically my second home.

Verdict

This month's Kinder Beauty Box was a total hit for me. I can't wait to come up with a few more eye looks with Athr's colorful eyeshadow palette and I can't downplay my love for my new stylish eyeshadow brushes. Everything found in this month's box will definitely be used up! Kinder Beauty is a great option if you're looking to broaden your horizons with cruelty-free and vegan options. This month’s box has a retail value of $119.99, which is an amazing value for its cost of $26.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

Thanks for your review. I’ve been looking for something to replace both FFF and allure. I signed up and I guess I get a welcome box to start which sounds cool too. Thanks!

Have you tried Beauty Heroes? It’s a great box – different – full sizes from one brand, but it’s the gold standard in beauty boxes IMO. Plus members enjoy 15% off int heir store every day and I feel like that alone is worth the value.

Great review! For the hand soap, I think you could have received either the hand soap or a hand sanitizer. I loved that we got a full-sized shaving cream, as well as the eyeshadow palette and brushed. What a great box.
