This box doesn't come with an info sheet, but it does have a card with a QR code you can scan. The contents of the box are snuggly packaged inside - it's always nice to see full-size products once you tear the tissue paper away.

BomiBox "Summer Kiss" Box Review

Tiam Renewal Vita B3 Serum, 40 mL - Retail Value $11.49

This is the reformulated and ~renewed~ version of Tiam's Vita B3 serum. It features niacinamide and arbutin as key ingredients to help minimize the appearance of dark spots and discoloration. I really like that the ingredients list is alcohol-free and also contains allantoin and hyaluronic acid, and even though my skin can be sensitive, I didn't have any issues with using this.

Isntree Aloe Soothing Emulsion, 120 mL - Retail Value $12.59

This stuff is pretty great- it's packed with skin-loving ingredients like aloe, hyaluronic acid, beeswax, Centella Asiatica, green tea, and licorice root, and it has the texture of a very lightweight lotion that sinks in quickly and leaves skin feeling soft and moisturized. The texture allows me to use it in different steps in my skincare routine depending on my mood and what products I am layering with it, and it didn't leave any sticky residue behind.

Secret Key SYN-AKE Anti-Wrinkle Emulsion, 150 mL - Retail Value $23.80

This bottle has some WEIGHT to it- it feels important just when I am holding it because the glass bottle is so heft. The brilliant metallic red bottle definitely stands out, too- Secret Key meant business when they designed the packaging on this. Formula-wise, this emulsion has Centella Asiatica, hyaluronic acid, and a synthetic peptide designed to mimic the effect of snake venom (!!). I used this in the toner step of my skincare routine,  and I am really interested to see what this would do for my skin when I use it long-term.

Jumiso Super Soothing Cica & Aloe Sunscreen, 5 mL - Estimated Value $2.20 (buy the 50 mL version for $22)

This sunscreen sample got me excited for two different reasons- one is because it includes cica (Centella Asiatica), which is a favorite ingredient of mine for sensitive skin. The other is because this uses mineral sunscreen filters (zinc oxide), which means it is safe for me to use (over the past few years I've developed an allergy to chemical sunscreen filters). This absorbed well into my skin with no white cast, and while I liked the boost of hydration it provided, I am not so sure those with oily skin would feel the same way.

Etude House Dear Darling Water Gel Tint in Watermelon Red - Retail Value $6.50

I love lip tints! I also feel like they're a unique feature of K-Beauty that isn't really seen often from Western brands, so I would actually be really happy if we saw more lip tints more often. This bright red tint is packaged in a cute ice cream bar-shaped package, and the doe-foot applicator made it easy to apply. The way I like to use these tints is by applying a thick layer, even though it's a little sticky, and then letting it sit there for as long as I can before gently blotting away the excess. I'm left with juicy stained lips, which are a perfect look for this summer.

TonyMoly Mini Peach Lip Balm, 0.24 oz - Retail Value $10

This lip balm is packaged in the most adorable peach, and I love the cuteness. Formula-wise this is made with shea butter, ceramide 3, and peach extract, and after I applied it my lips definitely felt softer and more nourished.

Farmstay Visible Difference Sheet Mask in Collagen - Retail Value $2 and Farmstay Visible Difference Sheet Mask in Charcoal - Estimated Value $2

I've used these Farmstay masks before, and I find their performance to be essentially the same regardless of what key ingredient the mask is featuring. The mask itself is a little wider than your typical sheet mask, which I like because it gives me more coverage to the edges of my face. A lot of sheet masks feel cooling when I apply them, but that wasn't an experience I had with these masks- though they definitely brought my skin plenty of hydration.

Value – Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $44.99

Value Breakdown:

  • Tiam: $11.49
  • Isntree: $12.59
  • Secret Key: $23.80
  • Jumiso: $2.20
  • Etude House: $6.50
  • TonyMoly: $10
  • Farm Stay Collagen: $2
  • Farm Stay Charcoal: $2

Everything in the box adds up to $70.58, which is a pretty decent value for the $44.99 box cost.

Key Takeaways

I really like my BomiBox subscription, and I thought this month was really solid. I thought it was fun to receive a lip balm and lip tint, both in adorable packaging- especially when the theme this month was "summer kiss." The three full-size products in the box were all from brands I already had heard of and tried before, and that brand familiarity always makes me feel like the box has a higher personal value compared to when it's a completely new brand I have never heard of before (at this point, it's hard for me to not be familiar with most brands in some way). By my math, the items in the box retail for about $25 more than the cost of the box. I think that's reasonable, but remember that you need to take these prices with a grain of salt since almost all of them can only be purchased overseas and that makes finding consistent pricing for them difficult. If you're looking for a monthly beauty box comprised exclusively of K-Beauty products, BomiBox is one of the best out there.

Ever

hello
I want to know how was your experience with Bomibox?, I subscribed the first month but the customer service is lousy and somewhat delayed, when my box did not arrive after several claims by email and social networks, I received a response via facebook and my refund.

I want to try again, but first I want to know if you have not had a problem with the shipments?

What a great box. K beauty products are my favorite. Cica is a wonderful ingredient for me.
