Beachly Lifestyle Box Summer 2022 Review + Coupon

Kelly Wright
ByKelly WrightJun 13, 2022 | 7 comments

Beachly is a quarterly seasonal box for women or men, stocked with apparel, accessories, and lifestyle items that have a beach-forward vibe and keep you feeling close to the ocean even if you're landlocked. Each box costs $99, but will have a value of over $250 featuring 6-8 items from well-known brands like Aloha, Havaianas, Roxy, Billabong, Nixon, DIFF Eyewear, and more.

When you first sign up for Beachly, you'll fill out a few preferences to tailor your box to you such as top and bottom size and your shoe size.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.

Summer 2022 Items

This is my second time reviewing the Beachly quarterly subscription box and both times have had fantastic products. If I'm being honest though, I think this 2022 summer box has been my favorite out of the two. This quarters subscription box also allowed you to choose a customization product: either the Endless Summer Throw by XIX or the Bella Sunglasses by Diff. Anytime a subscription box offers a customization product, I really feel like they are able to hit the mark better with their customers. If you are a currently subscribing customer to Beachly, be sure to check your emails about a week or two before the boxes ship. This email should include your customization link. I've seen many comments online from subscribers saying they were unaware how to choose their product, so it's important to keep an eye out in order to make sure you get what you want!

SHOREBREAK PICNIC COOLER BAG by XIX Palms - Listed Value $99

Ok, this picnic cooler bag is downright adorable and my favorite item in the box. Made by XIX Palms, its listed value is $99. I do feel like this might be a little high as the bag itself is not that large, but I still thought it was pretty great nonetheless. The interior is made from an insulated material with a tropical leaf print in teal and khaki colors. The straps are a vegan leather and have options to either hold by the handles, wear over one shoulder, or use both straps as a backpack. I absolutely love that there is a backpack option, however, it's important to note that the straps are pretty small. Even putting the straps on the longest setting, it was still a pretty snug fit for me and I have a fairly small(ish) build at 5'4 and 125lbs.

This little bag is absolutely perfect for throwing a sandwich and a drink or two for a day out at the beach or pool. I was able to fit four drink cans in the bag, but it's probably more appropriate for three as this left the top pretty wide open. There is also not a clasp to close it shut, so best to keep your drinks and snacks to a minimum so as they don't fall out. As we never spend more than a couple hours at the beach or pool, this was never an issue for us, and it was actually great being able to throw a few drinks in without having to bring a larger cooler.

ENDLESS SUMMER THROW by XIX Palms OR BELLA SUNGLASSES by Diff - Listed Value $75

These two products were subscribers customization options. You could either pick the summer throw or the Bella sunglasses. I went ahead with the endless throw as I'm super picky about my sunglasses. I like to try all of them on before purchasing because most sunglasses make me look like I have overgrown beetle eyes. I am not the type of person that can pull off all those trendy designer ones. Give me a pair of aviators or those cheap plastic ones that come in kid's party bags...that's it...that's all my face will allow. So, needless to say, I went with the summer throw.

So, the summer throw is not really a "throw". You could definitely use it at the end of your bed as a decorative piece to give your room a fresh, summer vibe, but I'm not sure I'd ever actually grab this to use as a lightweight blanket. It has a heavier cotton texture, but seems too lightweight to use on the sand as well. I need something a little more robust on the beach so as not to constantly have to get up and fling all the sand off and inevitably throw it in someone's eyes. The throw is square and measures approximately 53" x 53", so I think its best use would really to be as an outdoor table cloth. It would definitely bring that summery feel to your meal! Overall, I really like the thought of this piece, but I'm not sure it hits all of my requirements for it to be really useful.

TEAM ALOHA POCKET TEE by Guava Shop - Listed Value $44

I thought this t-shirt was incredibly cute. It is made from 100% cotton and has kind of a faded peach color. The front has a pocket with the words "Team Aloha" while the back has a larger version in a circular pattern. I was sent a size small, and I would say that these are true to size. It's incredibly soft and what I feel is the perfect shirt to throw on with a pair of shorts or jeans for a casual day out. But I'm also a big jeans and t-shirt kind of girl, so you really can never go wrong with sending me a t-shirt. I thought this was a great addition to the Beachly summer box and was pretty happy with piece!

Beachly Exclusive MONSTERA CUTTING BOARD - Listed Value $44

This is an adorable cutting board made from natural bamboo, cut into the shape of a monstera leaf with a laser cut design giving it even more detail. It's not a huge cutting board, but it's got a great thickness and is perfect for cutting up smaller items such as fruit. You can see in the photos the approximate size, but it measure just under 10" across and 14" in length at its widest points. I think this would also be a fun piece to just use as kitchen decor during the summer months or even has a charcuterie board for your outdoor get-togethers! This really was a great addition to the box!

Nymph Nectar Superfruit Radiance Balm by Earth Harbor (Beachly Beauty Exclusive) - Listed Value $38

First off, I thought the Nymph Nectar had an incredible scent when I opened up the jar. It had a slight berry and fresh scent to it that I immediately enjoyed. The directions say this can be used as a moisturizer during the day or as a face mask at night with the only difference basically being the amount used. It has a silky texture to it, but the moment you move it around, it melts and is incredibly easy to massage onto your face. While it felt very smooth, it also had a bit of an oily texture. Which for this extremely sensitive girl, made me really hesitant. My face will break out with the slightest hint of oil, so while I did use this on my face for the purpose of the review, I did not keep it on long. While it was on, my face felt smooth and and hydrated, but still felt a little too oily for my liking. The ingredients do include olive fruit oil, cranberry seed oil, raspberry seed oil, sunflower seed oil, poppy seed oil, and seabuckthorn berry oil, (amongst other things) so to be fair...it kind of made sense. I think this product sounds absolutely fantastic for anyone that doesn't have sensitive skin and can use these types of oils or who needs some serious hydration on their face.

WAIMEA HAIR TIE AND SCARF by Maaji - Listed Value $20

The Waimea hair tie and scarf is a cute little accessory addition with a fun tropical print in mainly light and dark purple colors. I did try it as it was meant to be used (as a hair tie and wrap), but I think I'm just way too old at this point to pull that look off. I ended up tying it onto the picnic cooler bag and it gave it a great little splash of color.

Verdict

I loved this box! The only thing I'm not the biggest fan of is the summer throw, as I'm not 100% percent sure where and when I'm going to use it. The Nymph Nectar was also a miss for me, but this is less because of the product and more because of my skin type. The product itself is totally plant-based, vegan, cruelty-free, and fairly sourced which I absolutely love, but unfortunately my skin doesn't. Don't let this keep you from trying it though...only you know your skin! The picnic cooler bag again was my favorite with the Aloha t-shirt and Monstera cutting board being tied for a very close second. I believe these three products alone make the summer Beachly box an incredible value for your money and I would happily recommend this box to anyone looking for some fun beach products to enjoy this summer.

In a nutshell? I'm a bit of a walking contradiction!

I love traveling the world and stepping out of my comfort zone, but I can also be a complete introvert and will be totally happy hanging out at home with my family for days on end. I enjoy working out and going for runs or HIIT classes at the gym, but I also have no problem binging on a bag of cheetos and a glass of wine (which pairs surprisingly well together!). I love how I look dressed up and ready to hit the town, but am much more comfortable in a pair of sweats while watching The Mandolorian with my husband and two little boys. I love trying exotic foods and the different spices and textures that come with it, but my all-time-favorite meal is a juicy cheeseburger with fries.

So, maybe I should just call myself well-rounded!? Whatever it is, I keep an open mind about everything and am always on the hunt for a new and exciting adventure!

This was actually my first summer box since I joined in December. I loved the items of this box a bit more than some of the items in the spring box. I absolutely love the Team Aloha shirt, the hair tie and the cutting board. I use the hair tie a lot since its been pretty hot here in New Jersey. I haven’t used the cooler bag but it looks super cute. It could be used for small picnic dates in my opinion. I do see a pattern of repeating same or similar items. I hope they curate different items, but I’m still pleased with Beachly.

I miss being a Beachly subscriber, but they repeat items too much.
They had a cooler bag and blanket last summer. I cant be the only person that doesn’t need or want a new cooler bag and blanket each year. If they started offering new stuff, I would resubscribe.

That cooler bag looks too small. Really surprised there is no way to close it. And $99? Sub boxes are just insane with those values. Looks more like $19…

That logo on the back of Team Aloha is horrible! I read it as Hate A Malo or Hate Am Alo or something like that. Or I’d start readying with the Ate…. If they really wanted to do it that way, the Team and Aloha should be in different fonts or different colors.

Looking forward to getting my box to see it all in person

The cooler bag is definitely not going to get you through an entire day at the beach. It’s definitely more of a “throw a few drinks in to head to the pool” type bag.

Totally agree. That writing on the back of the shirt is awful. I saw it as Hate at first, too, although I guess there is a small space there to show where to start reading. Definitely not through very well.

I was very disappointed in the cooler. It only holds 2 regular water bottles and no way to close it.

Ugh — it looks so promising. (until you notice the hand in the pic and wonder how small it is)

Too bad it doesn’t sound very useful.
