First Impressions

As always, my goodies arrived in the pink IPSY bubble mailer and a drawstring back. The April design is a very pretty blue and covered in dasies!

Here is the info card.

Now, on to the items!

KIMCHI CHIC BEAUTY Puff Puff Pass Set & Bake Setting Powder in 03 Translucent, 24 g - Retail Value $18

Note: IPSY chose this item for me.

This brand always has the cutest packaging. Honestly, it was enough for me to be excited about this item, even though I don't really ever use translucent powder. Fans of RuPaul's Drag Race might be extra into this item because the founder was a contestant. In addition to absorbent talc, this formula also has rice powder and vitamin E, and it comes with a plush puff!

BUTTAH SKIN Tea Tree & Aloe Exfoliating Scrub, 3.4 fl oz - Retail Value $22

Note: IPSY chose this item for me.

The texture of this mask was... interesting. It kind of looks curdled, if that makes any sense. It also tends to separate so be sure to shake the tube before you use it or there is an oily residue. The mask is designed to be applied to the face and rinsed off after 3-5 minutes. There is a little bit of scrubby texture hidden here, too, which does feel nice on the skin. The combination of clay, aloe, and tea tree detoxifies while still moisturizing. It also has this sudsy sort of lather when you massage it off with water which feels great and left my skin feeling super refreshed.

CONTEXT SKIN Tinted Lip Balm Duo in 'All or Nothing' & 'Hard Time', 2.8 g each - Retail Value $30

I chose this item.

As a makeup minimalist, tinted balms are always welcome in my routine! And this duo provides both a bolder red as well as a golden nude that are super flattering. They have a really nice sweet smell and glide on like butter. The color doesn't last super long, but you'll want to reapply these frequently for the smoothing magic and yummy scent.

SANDBAR BEAUTY The Oasis Palette - Retail Value $26

I chose this item.

I had such high hopes for this palette. It was a new brand to me which is always exciting, and the color story was gorgeous. But, sadly, the performance just wasn't great. The colors I was the most excited about (the nude, teal, and pearl) were the most patchy and finicky, and just didn't have the pigment delivery I have come to expect with a good-quality palette. I will say that the opacity is improved with primer, but in a collection like mine, I don't really keep a palette around that I have to work hard at for color.

PYT BEAUTY Hot Flush Blush in 'Flirty', 0.16 oz - Retail Value $20

I chose this item.

PYT is another one of those brands that make me smile. I recently saw it arrive at my local Target and the temptation is huge every time I run in for dog food or laundry detergent. I generally reach for cream blush these days, but there is something very pretty and lovable about this beautiful rose-mauve powder. It is a matte finish that creates such a natural flush on my cheeks, and even makes for a very pretty eyeshadow.

Verdict

This month's IPSY Glam Bag Plus had a little bit of everything, though it certainly felt a little more makeup heavy. I am kind of fine with that though! Whenever summer approaches, I am always looking for new treasures for my makeup bag. I do feel a little underwhelmed by that eyeshadow palette and I won't find a ton of use with the loose powder, but the rest of this bag was really fun and useful. The value this month lands at $116 which isn't the highest value bag I have ever received from IPSY, but it is still a lot of value for $28!

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Good to know about the eyeshadow, was tempting when I see them in the shop or add ons. I have all the time in the world but I don’t want to spend it blending eyeshadow lol. Thank you for your honesty and doing the review!

ipsy also gave me the KimChi powder. I wear sunscreen every day so I use translucent powder to cover the shine. I’m always up for loose powder. This formula is super-wonderful! The powder is so finely milled that it leaves my face feeling silky. I highly recommend it. And the dispensing holes in the container are set in the shape of a heart, which is cute.
