Norlii is a $74.90 (+ $12.95 shipping) bi-monthly home subscription box filled with Scandinavian home decor and accessories. With the clean lines of Nordic designs and the warmth of the Danish hygge (a word that basically means a quality of coziness that creates a feeling of contentment), it's all about bringing a modern but comfy bit of Scandinavia to your home.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

It's springtime in Scandinavia, and that's pretty vår — literally, vår is a Swedish noun for spring (not to be confused with the pronoun vår with means "our" in Swedish), and that's the theme of the April Norlii subscription box!

What's Inside the Box

This month's box had five different goodies packed inside with a total value of $145.

Watering Can, Zone Denmark — Listed Value $75

zone denmark watering can

I have to kick things off with my favorite item in this month's Norlii box — have you ever seen a watering can that was so pretty? Made by Zone Denmark, this slim can would be a perfect fit on a kitchen windowsill to go beside the plants it regularly waters. Not only is it the right size, but the modern design will add a touch of elegance to your sill! Although it's smaller than most watering cans, it still holds a solid 25 fl. oz., plenty to keep your herbs and a small array of flowers watered.

Tip: You could also use this watering can outside, but be warned — the can is made from metal, so it will rust if forgotten in the garden.

Bloomingville Plant Pots on Stands — listed price $30 (set of 2)

What's a watering can without something to water? Each Norlii box is packed with two flower pots made from black metal with small metal stands! You can use the stands as pictured or flip them so the pot sits within the stand and is just an inch off the surface — pretty handy.

Made by Bloomingville, the industrial look of these pots is what stands out for me. They're more chic than the plastic pots you're going to pick up at your garden center, but the metal is thin (albeit sturdy), so you're not adding a ton of extra weight to your windowsill when you grow your herbs.

Illume x Bloomingville Scented Candle in Steel Votive — listed price $20

If you're like me, you won't exactly have plants ready for your pots. But don't worry, you can kick that springtime flower vibe right into gear with this sophisticated candle — also from the folks at Bloomingville. With a silver-plated steel container that I could see re-using once the candle has burned down, this gently floral scented candle won't overwhelm you with the scent of flowers. Think the scent of a light spring breeze.

SisterBrandt Print — Listed Value $5

Var print

When I was a little girl, I spent a lot of time at the home of a family friend who hailed from Eastern Europe. The walls of her foyer were covered in prints of the plants from her home country, and this print from SisterBrandt immediately took me back to my childhood.

The vår print celebrates sweet woodruff, a pretty perennial that peaks in late spring here in the US.

Moebe The Pinch — Listed Value $15

This may be my second favorite item in this month's Norlii subscription box. Sent to pair with the print above, it's built like a giant clothespin with a twist — there's a little hole in the back so you can hang this "Pinch" on the wall to display things easily!

If you have children, you could use it to display their artwork. Throwing a dinner party? Display the menu. The possibilities are endless, and I want 100 more!

Was This Box Worth It?

Norlii has raised the price of its bimonthly box — it's now $74.90 with $12.95 shipping to the US (formerly $69.95 with $9.95 shipping). But with items valued at $145 for the $69.95 box price, even when you add in that $12.95 shipping, you're still getting a hefty discount overall.

And subscribers also get a chance to shop the Norlii Scandinavian Store with 20% off more goodies from Moebe (the makers of the cool "Pinch"), Zone Denmark (they made that watering can), and other items to complement your box!

More You Should Know

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, but there is only about one week left to get the box. And while the bimonthly box price has increased to $74.90 per box, you can also snag an annual subscription at the reduced price of $69.98 per box!

I can’t wait to subscribe to this box, although I admit this box wasn’t right for me. I’m the opposite of a green thumb and would have no use for any of the items in the box (except maybe the candle, lol)

What are the sizes of the can and pots?

Hands down this is the best curation from Linda yet! I really appreciate getting the planter set instead of just one. And yes, as the previous comment says the planters are nestled in the stands and not on top.

I was very happy with this box — as I have been with all my Norlii boxes.

However, everything I’ve seen indicates that the planters should be nestled inside the stands and aren’t intended to be perched on top as you have them pictured. 🙂
