First Impressions

My typical white box arrives beautifully packaged.

Included were helpful cards and a booklet with loads of details about the products this month from natureofthings. It looks like this month is more body than face-focused.

The Products

Cleansing Body & Scalp Polish, 150 mL - Retail Value $55

Why do I love getting a fancy little key with a metal tube? I love that I can get every last bit of a product out and I also just feel fancy when I have one. Which is reason enough. This formula is interesting because it is a scrub that you can use on your body or scalp. I think when I picture a body scrub, it is often something harsh and scrubby, but this formula is downright gentle. Its more like a massage than a scrub. This is great for anyone who suffers from eczema/psoriasis or who has a more sensitive skin type. I have previously skipped using scrubs on my calves because I fall into that lucky psoriasis group, but this nourishing and soft scrub give them a treat without irritating them. I loved it a little less on my scalp because my hair is really dense and when scrubbies don't dissolve, I feel like I can't ever wash them out completely and I find them for days after. So, this will primarily be used on my calves and the back of my arms. It leaves skin feeling soft and calm and the scent of spices, lavender, and citrus linger even after my shower.

Restorative Floral Bath, 110 mL - Retail Value $85

This has to be one of the prettiest bottles I have ever seen. It's glass, but coated in some sort of stone-mimicking texture that feels heavenly to touch. If you are an especially tactile person like I am, you are in for a treat. The coolness of the glass with the stone texture feels like holding some sort of beautiful river rock. Dreamy. Because this is essentially an $85 bubble bath, I was conservative the first time I used it. And even with a smaller amount of this precious milky liquid, my bath was transformed into a fragrant treat that would have been complete with flower petals floating around inside. The fragrance is a mix of white petals and vetiver and it even has malachite and rose quartz inside, which makes the crystal lover I am really happy. Sure, my skin wasn't dramatically transformed after this bath, but mentally I felt calm and exceptionally fancy.

Verdict

Beauty Heroes felt like kind of a departure this month and I am here for it. I would never in a million years feel comfortable buying bath products this expensive, but that is exactly why I love a subscription like this one! In addition to smelling and feeling great, these products add a very high-end luxe vibe to my bathroom and feel special enough to where I am using them mindfully and conservatively. I am also planning on reusing that amazing bottle when the time comes. The value this month lands at $140, which is like rich-folk money to spend on bath products, but for the cost of this sub, I can pretend, right?

I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, Megan! We are so happy to hear you enjoyed our April Discovery featuring natureofthings. We love being able to help people discover their new body Hero products. It’s a category that for so many we neglect and love to be able to share splurge worthy indulgences we all need to add to our self-care rituals.

Beauty Heroes has done several body-products focused month and those are my favorites. Last year it was February with the Yina and the year before was with Bathing Culture. Before my sub runs out Im going to purchase some other body products from the site so I can use the subscriber discount.

Thanks for the review!

I have repurchased both the Bathing Culture and Yina for myself and as gifts! I love when they do a body-focused box. The discount for subscribers is a great benefit as well.

Hehehe. I love getting a new key too! I used the floral bath after my shower and it’s divine. I’m glad that it works both ways as I’m a shower person. Love that faux stone bottle too! It’s so smooth, smooth satisfying to the senses.

Yes to all of this! We love using the Floral Bath after a shower as a Body Milk. We know that not everyone has a bath tub or enjoys an indulgent bath but love that the Restorative Floral Bath is a multi purpose product. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I loved this month however, like you, I don’t think I would ever be comfortable paying that much for a bath product. The “how to use” on BH website says to use 50 ml in the bath. So with 110 ml at $85 that is a $40 bath! It is such a lovely product, and I wish I had $40 bath money, but for now I am content with using less than is recommended and enjoying it while it lasts.

Thank you for sharing your perspective, Lydea. We agree, Restorative Floral Bath is an indulgence and it’s not designed to necessarily be for everyday bath use, but for when you are really seeking that true moment of indulgent self-care. natureofthings recommends a slow pour and count of 5-7 seconds as part of your ritual, which is about 30 ml of product but you can certainly use less and still reap the many benefits Restorative Floral Bath provides.
