We now have spoilers for both the Bright Ideas and Glow & Go Whole Foods Market Beauty Bags that will be in physical stores today! Good luck everyone!

Last week, Whole Foods Market shared that they will once again launch their Beauty Bags--this time, on Friday, March 18. (Thanks Luisa!) There will be two Beauty Bags (Bright Ideas and Glow & Go) to choose from once again. Each will contain contain a mix of full- and mini-sized products from brands like HiBar, Mad Hippie, ACURE, Karuna, evanhealy and Facetory. They will be priced at $25 and have a value of $120+.

As per a WF email (thanks Sherri!) you may be limited to one bag of each and contents may vary (the email says, for instance, that the Glow & Go does not have the Mineral Fusion nail polish remover despite being on the bag photo and in the list of contents).

So what's in the bags?

Whole Food Beauty Week will start on March 16 and end March 22; in addition to the bags, you can also save 25% on facial and skin care, hair care, cosmetics, nail polish, perfume and beauty accessories. Amazon customers will save an additional 10%.

This was the first time I have purchased the Whole Foods Beauty Bags after years of wanting one. I got the Go & Glow. Sure, I would have liked to have paid $20.00 instead of $25.00, but the Dr. Hauschka: Balancing Day Lotion goes for that price, so everything else is essentially free. So far, I love the Dr. Hauschka!!! The Pacifica Glow Baby smells yummy and works great. The cloth bag is pretty and a great big size. I’m looking forward to trying it all.

They overstated the value of the bag by around $25. I’ve always loved the bags and found at least one great product each time but was disappointed that they didn’t live up to the stated value. There is no reason to oversell it. The Mad Hippie products were a repeat of last year. It would have been nice to get samples of other products.

Some disappointed with this year’s release. Feel that past bags had more products including mascara, hand lotions, face washes, more variety of lip care, makeup products, etc. This year had a lot of shampoos and conditioners– still haven’t found anyone to use last year’s. Missed all the face masks. Disappointed with price as well. Few years ago it was $15, now $25 with much less product. Bags were heavy and overstuffed! Was going to gift the bags as I always do to mom for Mother’s Day, will have to find something else. The bag quality has been less and less over years as well. Still use my beautiful B&W bag! There were a lot of bags left when I picked up mine on lunch break. (Schaumburg store does not put bags out on sales floor, you have to ask the staff member working in beauty dept, and they will get you ONE bag from the back.)

Chicago South Loop + Ashland/School had a bunch left aa of 3/20/22. The blue printed bag has a Full sized Dr. Hauschka moisturizer. That one is def. better. The older box from January is also marked down to $12.47. It had a Full sized lotion and vitamins, etc. Back in October they had a ‘Clean’ skincare bag too. It had a Full sized Aurora/Earth Harbor Face Oil, collagen vitamins, etc. That one was good!

Got both this morning around 8 am in Santa Fe. On a large display at the entrance of the store and more bags in stock than previous yearsBig disappointment compared to previous years. IMO the Glo and Go is the better bag. It will probably be returning the Bight Ideas bag on my next trip to Whole Foods. This has always been one of my favorite beauty bags but not this year. Previous bags had MUCH more product and more full sizes😏I don’t think these are worth a special trip to Whole Foods.

Probably cost me $25 just in gas to get to WF.

The usual mob at my local store was nowhere to be seen this year at 9:00am. I wonder if this had anything to do with the fact that yesterday was St. Patrick’s Day?

Emily

I think it’s probably to do with the spoilers. Mostly sample sizes, nothing like the high value of the past couple of years, and higher cost to boot.

I just picked up one of each. Yay! Although it wasn’t crowded at 9am, everyone in the checkouts was buying them, even the cashiers and store employees were grabbing some. At my store, they are not applying the 25% off beauty week discount to the bags, which is consistent with prior years around here. FYI – the Decatur GA store (that used to be a 365) has plenty of them, stacked neatly on shelves this time, near the registers. Also new – they have a wide cardboard band around them showing photos of the contents.

Sherri

According to the email I received from WF, “no discount applies” to the beauty bags. So if a store applies the 25% off, they weren’t supposed to – and I want to go to that store lol. I mean, it’s already a great value, I totally get why they don’t allow any discounts.

Sherri

BTW – I received an email from WF with a line in the fine print that read “Contents of the Beauty Bag may vary. Mineral Fusion Nail Polish Remover Mini is not available in teal GLOW & GO bag. Limit 1 of each Beauty Bag per customer. No discount applies. Quantities limited.” Not sure what they mean about the nail polish remover not being in the one bag since it’s clearly pictured and listed for the bag (maybe they just dropped that one product?) but the important part (IMHO) is that there is a limit of 1 of EACH bag per customer. This has been an issue for me in the past at my WF, where they’ve tried to tell me I can purchase a single bag only – one or other. If that happens this year, I’ll be pulling out that email! 🙂 (Side note… when that happened last year, I may or may not have purchased one bag, put it in the car, and then, ahem, immediately returned to the WF and purchased the other bag in a different checkout lane.)

Um…if your store has self checkout, you could try purchasing them there. each should have a different barcode so the scanner shouldn’t flag it as a duplicate purchase.

Sherri

My store does not have self checkout or I would have done that.
No issues this year. Just grabbed my two and checked out without issue.

If anyone knows what’s in the Bright Ideas bag, would you be willing to list the items here? I’m not receiving emails from Whole Foods for some reason. Thanks

Johanna

I found photos of both of them on the red website. I don’t think I’m going to like the colors/designs of the bags themselves this year and there’s not too much inside them that I really want. Instead of bringing home all those items that may not be used I might just check their beauty shelves for one or two things and utilize the discounts. Thanks MSA for keeping up on this one though!

I posted them on the forum.

I have a Whole Foods not too far from me but not sure how fast they sell out. I really hope it’ll still be there when I’m done work

I’ve never been to Whole Foods but I will actually be in the city on Saturday and one is near where I’m getting my hair cut so I’m planning on stopping there!! I’m so excited for the chance!!

I don’t know how to post a picture. But whole foods just sent out an email and included photo of their bags .

Nat

So exciting. Definitely planning to grab both on Friday. I know these used to sell out super quick, but last year, my store had plenty of bags for a couple of weeks.

Johanna

They’ve been $20 ea for the past few years, now $25, but getting at least one is still worth the price! Hoping for a Mad Hippie product I want but if not their Beauty Week sale goes until March 22. I’ll be watching for more spoilers on what’s inside + the actual bag design.

The Bright Ideas (pink) bag has the Mad Hippie Vitamin A Serum. I had thought that it would be the 0.25 oz. tiny bottle (after seeing a random online photo) and was pleasantly surprised that it’s 0.5 oz. (~$15 retail value).

Kai @ MSA

The Glow & Go bag has the Mad Hippie Vitamin C serum (we posted the Glow & Go spoilers today)–not sure about the Bright Ideas bag.

Ugh!! I will be getting my hair cut, colored and highlighted that day. There is not a Whole Foods near us. There’s not anyone going that wants to get my bags for me is there? I’m in NC but would pay for them and the shipping and a tip😉

Reply ButtonReply

Ashley

I could definitely try to get them, I have no idea how quickly they go at the stores around me. I’m in PA but have no problem shipping, I’m gonna try to get a bag for myself anyway. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Ashley

Ok! As long as you have no problem covering the costs of the bags+shipping I’m happy to pick up what I can for you too Janna.
Just shoot me an email and I’ll let you know tomorrow morning what I was able to get.

I’m in NC, but not near a whole foods either and would also love 1 or both.

Sarah

Oooh, exciting! I’ve been lucky to grab these bags the last couple of years and always look forward to them. Picking them up in 2020 was the most surreal experience: people were in the grocery store buying tons of food for lock down and I was there buying the bags!

Annie S.

Yes, I was in Whole Foods getting bags instead of food as well. I didn’t need to stock up because I already had food at home. I do remember there being a line to go in the store once I left with the bags.

J Davis

I’m annoyed that they haven’t revealed the actual bags yet. They always have and some people travel outside of their hometowns to get them, so it would be nice to know beforehand.

I’d suggest updating the text that says it will be released March 21st 2015 in the info box.

Kai @ MSA

Ah thank you Amber–that bit auto-populates but I should have an eagle-eye on that. Fixing it now, appreciate it!
