What's Inside The Bag

So Susan Limited-Edition Makeup Bag, April 2022 - Retail Value $12

April's bag is hands down my absolute favorite So Susan cosmetics bag. I love it! I am somewhat of a succulent collector and nurturer, so anything with a cactus or succulent is irresistible to me. Everything from the color palette to the different shapes and flowers draws me in. I also love that this bag speaks for itself without having any motivational quotes or sayings on it.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Nebula Eyeshadow in Event Horizon - Retail Value $18.00

One of my absolute favorite eyeshadow formulas is Colourpop's Super Shock Shadow pots, and this performs a lot like those. Jelly Pong Pong describes the formula as an "intensely foiled spongy eyeshadow," and they are right on the money. I've had the most success applying this type of shadow with my fingertips. You can apply a very sheer wash of color or build it up to almost the shade you see in the pan. It is a lovely emerald with silver shimmer.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Skin Reverie Body Glow Moisturizer, 1.06 oz - Retail Value $38.00

Liquid luminizers and I get along very well, especially during warmer months. I love mixing this type of product with a daily moisturizer to promote a healthy glow to my complexion, arms, chest, really any part of me that peeks through clothing. This one, in particular, has a bronze tone, and I only needed a tiny dab to give my cheekbones a sunkissed glow.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Lip Oil in Satsuma - Retail Value $21.00

Everything about this lip oil is yummy. The juicy orange color is perfect for spring, and the fruity smell is borderline addictive. It glides on smoothly and nourishes the lips while providing them with excellent shine and a hint of color. I loved this over a bright lipstick (pictured below!), but it was also nice alone for a hint of color and hydration.

So Susan Cosmetics Metamorphosis Palette - Retail Value $39.00

Because I like to be surprised as much as possible, I didn't look at this packaging or description before opening. I was definitely not expecting to open this palette up to a blue/silver motif, but here we are! The pigmentation is pretty great; it can go from sheer to buildable, and the three colors blend into each other seamlessly. I am not one to wear a lot of blue, silver or really any cool tones for highlight, so this palette really isn't for me for that intent, but I did enjoy the lightest shade as an inner corner eye highlight. This formula is emollient, so the pigment did not last very long, but I could definitely see the appeal in using this for cheek radiance because it is so smooth.

Swatched above: Jelly Pong Pong lip oil, Jelly Pong Pong luminizer, Jelly Pong Pong eyeshadow single, So Susan cheek palette.

I used the emerald eyeshadow single on the outer corner of my eye for a little depth, then blended the lightest shade in the Metamorphosis palette from the middle to the inner corner of my eye for a shiny blue highlight. I topped my bright lip stain off with the Jelly Pong Pong lip oil, a combo I will definitely be using again.

Verdict

This month's So Susan Color Curate was filled with Jelly Pong Pong products, and I have no complaints! I think their cosmetics are of excellent quality, and even though the cool blue So Susan palette wasn't totally for me, I found another great use for it. This month's picks add up to a value of $128; I think that is an excellent value for this $20.95 subscription!
