First Impressions

Quirky Crate showcases one item from a featured artist or brand each month. This month features Busy Beaver Button Co.'s own Christen Carter. She is an entrepreneur that spreads her message and love through button and sticker making. This card has a little background info on Christen as well as her shop and social media info.

content list

On the flip side of the card, Quirky Crate includes an itemized list of each product and its value. This month's theme is "Cottagecore," featuring some sweet flair that is totally unique and totally quirky.

Time to get quirky!

Strawberry Purse - Listed Value $35

I am struggling to find words to describe this bag that aren't 'cute' or 'adorable' because both words describe it perfectly. This little cutie (see?) is roomy and has the most adorable (can't help myself) details to boot. This could easily fit my phone, wallet and a few other necessities. Even the gold zipper is a little irresistible flower. What's not to love?

Mushroom Patch - Listed Value $5

blue mushroom patch

This patch would have blown my mind in grade school, and nowadays, well, I am still pretty obsessed with mushrooms. I will absolutely be ironing this patch on a pair of my light wash jeans for a little hippie flair! There is really nothing more "Cottagecore" than a trio of mushrooms.

Crystal Enamel Pin - Listed Value $10

QC straight up kills it every month with their pin designs. Crystals and flowers are two of my favorite things, so naturally, this pin was an instant fave. It is a really great pin to go with this month's Cottagecore theme, and I especially like the color palette they chose. It has two pinbacks to keep it straight, fitting perfectly on the collar of my jean jacket.

Fairytale Puppy Socks - Listed Value $8

I do not say this lightly: this is my absolute favorite pair of socks that Quirky Crate has ever sent out. Those little poodles brought happy little tears to my eyes, that is how much I love them. This type of fairytale-style illustration needs to be utilized more; there is a romantic, nostalgic quality to it all that sparks so much joy.

Macrame Plant Hanger - Listed Price $12

plant holder

I don't receive a lot of subscriptions with home goods anymore, so I love when QC includes a fun and unique piece of decor that actually serves a purpose. I've always wanted a macrame pot hanger, but I had always intended to be the one to fashion it.

Since I have had little time for crafts in the last few years, I am happy to put this pot holder to use! It holds my pottery sturdily, so I'm not too concerned about any plant casualties. I love this look, and now, I am considering purchasing a few more.

Flower Pen - Listed Price $4

I love flashing my quirky pen stash around at work, knowing that if any go missing I'd easily be able to seek out the perp. This pen has some of my favorite colors, and I thoroughly enjoy writing with its fine tip. The ink comes out smoothly without any ink pooling or flow issues.

Mushroom Necklace - Listed Price $16

Normally I love toadstools, but I am not vibing with the mix of metal and plastic charms here. It is a cute idea for a necklace, but I typically prefer dainty metal jewelry, preferably gold. This necklace is adjustable; it can function as a choker or a medium-length necklace.

Stay Wild Moon Child Button Pack - Listed Price $6

Flair, flair and more flair! I am going to look so fly with my Cottagecore flair this month. There are three button pin designs, and they're all very pleasing to the eye. These were designed by this month's featured artist, Busy Beaver Button Co's Christen Carter. You can custom make your own buttons on their website, and they also have a gift shop with limited buttons and stickers for purchase.

The Verdict

March's Quirky Crate is a whimsical mix. This month's theme 'Cottagecore' is one of my favorite curations, yet! The strawberry bag and poodle socks were love at first sight, and I'll absolutely be sporting all of this month's flair for days to come. This subscription is such a joy to unbox, I really look forward to seeing the cute mailer on my porch every month. The total value of this box adds up to $96, over double the $36.95 + $8.50 shipping subscription cost.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.
