Hello, everyone! It's time to play dress up again. Before we get started, it seems people in my building are catching on to my subscription obsession because packages are starting to *poof* disappear. I've had two Allure Beauty Boxes conveniently grow legs and walk away, someone's busted into my Armoire rentals twice, and this time my Rocksbox return shipment was never picked up from our mailroom downstairs. I wasn't aware of this until about two weeks later when I wondered why I hadn't received an alert that my latest box had shipped. Uh oh! Needless to say, I'll now be taking my returns directly to UPS. Luckily, Rocksbox was understanding, and I received a new shipment so here we are.

Rocksbox is a jewelry styling and rental service. Members pay a flat rate every month to get unlimited access to the Rocksbox collection and the option to buy whatever they love at a discounted price. Each month, Rocksbox will curate sets of three pieces to send your way, including at least one piece from your ever-growing wishlist. Members can keep and wear the three pieces they receive for as long as they want, or they can switch out sets whenever they'd like. Rocksbox also offers a monthly credit so you can buy the pieces for less.

This is a review of the monthly plan for $21, which includes shipping to the US only.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Just like other subscription boxes, when I signed up for Rocksbox I had to set up a style profile that asked me questions like my metal preference, and which necklace, earring, bracelet, and ring styles I liked the most.

Let's check out this month's delivery!

WHAT I RECEIVED

Cocoacentric LaLynn Earrings - Retail Value $80, Member Price $76

About this item: Like art in motion, the Cocoacentric LaLynn Earrings are geometric-shaped, dangly earrings that are crafted in ultra-shiny 18K gold-plated brass. They're pretty lightweight and measure at approximately 2.5" long.

Condition: Great condition.

Review: They're artful, fun, and a little loud. Kind of reminds me of a puzzle piece. They smudge really easily, and the post part of the earring is quite wide which makes it a little more difficult to wear earrings in my second hole.

Side note: during the pandemic, I decided to take it back to 1992 and reopen my second holes. In high school, I worked at Claire's Boutique (and Contempo Casuals) and when I was bored, I would pierce my own ears so now I have all these closed holes and none of them are even! These earrings accentuate the unevenness.

Rudiment Fillmore Layered Choker - Retail Value $65, Member Price $55

About this item: Rudiment's Fillmore Layered Choker is a lightweight, double strand design that's crafted in 14k gold-plated brass. The outer virola linked chain is 16" long, and the inner, gourmette-linked chain is 15" and the necklace features an adjustable, 3" extender.

Condition: Great condition.

Review: I guess you can tell I've got a thing for gold-tone and gold-plated jewelry, and that I'm also in the hunt for the perfect necklace. I wore this layered design a few times (it twists really easily) and even paired it with the Nicholas Emma Jumpsuit, but I'm looking for something a little heavier and chunkier that's got a consistent design throughout. I didn't find it with this necklace and as I used to say when I was dating like Carrie Bradshaw in NYC... NEXT!

Perry Street Jenny Hoops - Retail Value, $45, Member Price $38

About this item: These gold-plated, high-shine brass hoop earrings feature hallow heart-shaped links. Lightweight and dainty, they're 1.5" long and very thin.

Condition: Great condition.

Review: Perfect for Valentine's Day and beyond, these lovely heart earrings are lightweight and lighthearted! I love the dainty heart cutouts and they're the perfect size too. I just feel like they might be a little too young for me, you know, since these days I'm a bitter old lady with a bunny rabbit.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The Verdict: This month's box was fun! I liked all the items I chose but wasn't head-over-heels for any of them enough to make a long-term commitment. What I really want right now is the Cartier Juste un Clou Ring.

Keep Track of Your Subscriptions: Add this box to your subscription list or wishlist!

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Every box is different and packed based on the customer's tastes and what's available at the time. You can, however, help guide the Rocksbox stylists and add your favorite pieces to your wishlist!

Value Breakdown: Rocksbox membership costs $21 per month. At retail, the three pieces would cost me $173. With my Rocksbox discounts and the member pricing including the buy-all-three-items discount, the $21 of Shine Credit (the membership fee for the month, which goes towards your purchases), and the $10 buy-all-three discount, that price drops to $122.

If shopping were an Olympic sport, I’d be a gold medalist. And while my bank account often feels the crunch, I just can’t stop buying secondhand clothing and accessories, under-the-radar designer goods, stuffed animal unicorns (I have about 75), and toys for my pet bunny rabbit. After 20 years of city slicking in NYC and DC, I now have a car and love to tour the Virginia countryside looking for vintage shops, undiscovered wineries and breweries, historic sites, and Thai restaurants—I’m addicted to Thai food. I never leave home without a spare phone charger because I love horror movies and therefore have an irrational fear of being stranded somewhere with a dead battery.

I’m still getting a lot of wear out of all these items, including the necklace. Getting more attached by the day.

I still have them and I’m wearing them right now. They’re really growing on me, and I am now considering a purchase. Funny how this rental thing works out.

Cute items! Sorry about the thievery.

For the CocoaCentric, I have a thing about wanting the left and right earrings to be mirror images instead of identical. I feel like it’s lazy production to make all the earrings the same, and I only expect it with cheap earrings.

Linda! I feel like you have just explained something for me I couldn’t express. I had this same pair of earrings on my Rocksbox wishlist and couldn’t figure out what it was that wasn’t quite right. You’ve just nailed it for me. Thank you so much!

I absolutely feel you on that. I was messing with them after I took the pics and thought the exact same thing!
