Our New Deals Page Is Here!

Our new Deals Page has arrived!

Here at MSA, we are always discussing ways to improve your experience. One way we're doing that is to give Deals, Sales and Coupons their own space.

The Deals Page is a one-stop shop for the times when you need a coupon, want to stock up on essentials or just want to see what's on sale.

Here's how it's laid out:

In addition to regular deals you'll also find:

šŸ¦„ Unicorn Deals--Brands who don't offer coupons often, the first ever sale on a box, a code for more than 50% off, those are unicorns! These are the rarest and most special deals available.

āš”ļøFlash Sales--Some deals just don't last and you've gotta grab them quick--these deals typically only last a day or two.

āļøGreat Deals--Deals that have especially good value (limited edition boxes, free boxes, 20% off, etc).

We will be updating the page each day and removing expired deals daily--of course, if you see a problem, let us know and we'll get it fixed. The updated Deals Page will also be shared in the The Sizzle every Monday. (Sign up for that if you haven't!)

So, you'll no longer see coupons, sales and deals on the MSA homepage. You will see more reviews, series, spoilers and more great stuff. Take a look at the new Deals Page here and let us know what you think!

Do you have an opinion on the way we post deals? Is there something you'd like to see? Please let us know in the comments or in the MSA Forum!

Whoa! This page seems overwhelming! But I am pretty easily overwhelmed, so maybe it is just me. I appreciate all the hard work that is going into this!

Iā€™m wondering šŸ¤”if the new format means that we wonā€™t be able to search for old ā€˜historicalā€™ deals or limited edition boxes? I find it useful in some situations (e.g. if Iā€™m looking at a subscription box Iā€™m unfamiliar with and thinking of getting, etc).

Hi Ann,

Limited Edition Boxes will still be posted the ‘old’ way, so yes those will be searchable. Expired coupons/deals won’t be searchable after 2/21 (the day the Deals page went up) BUT! If you click on “The Directory” (click the sidebar menu/hamburger menu in the top left corner of the site page), you can search for a box + get the basic details, see reviews and explore reader comments about the box.

I hope you find that helpful!

Thanks for your reply, Kai

I just recently used $35 off coupon on my first Wantable. Are coupons and deals listed separately as I see it listed on coupons, but not deals page? It would be nice to have only one area for deals and coupons.

Hey! We’re currently cleaning up our coupon directory so it syncs up perfectly–so that should happen less and less. Glad you were able to get that discount!

I thought you were going to stop “changing the bread.” When I click into the deals section, I see several things that are expired/out of date, so I’m not sure I get the point in having a dedicated section for this.

Hi Emily! I have never heard that expression before: “changing the bread.” I’m able to figure it out pretty well from context, I think, but I did Google it, and nothing showed up. Is it an ethnic or regional expression, do you know? Just curious! Always glad to add new phrases or expressions to my vocabulary, but I want to make sure I’m using it correctly.

It’s from a post on MySubscriptionAddiction from November 20 by the new CEO, apologizing for unnecessary changes to the site. So a highly local expression. šŸ™‚ I was able to pull up the post again by searching for “Simran.”

Hi Emily, thanks for the heads up about the expired deals. It looks like a couple of Presidents Day deals ended overnight. Weā€™re on it this morning, and the list should now be up-to-date. Sometimes deals end at midnight, so it will be first on our morning to-do list every single morning to sweep away any that are no longer valid. As for the decision to aggregate deals on a single page, I thought maybe it would help to explain the logic behind it. Deals have become a regular part of our feed, and when there are a lot of great deals to post, reviews and spoilers can get pushed off the home page quickly. By moving deals to a single page, the goal is to make more space for the ā€œreal contentā€ that a lot of readers come here to see. A single deals page also provides a place to spotlight extra special deals that deserve a special call out (hence our new ā€œunicornā€ category). I understand that some of the updates weā€™ve made in the past havenā€™t been great, but I really do think this one is a change for the better. šŸ™‚

I wish you included the price of the boxes (either pre or post discount) and not just the percent of the discount.

Thanks for the feedback, Lindsay! This is a great note. I think you’re right that the list would benefit from better pricing visibility. We’ll take a second look here.
