Customization for the JourneeBox Riviera Maya is now open (5pm Pacific Time)!

How can you customize your box?

Existing customers are getting emails with custom URLs-- subscribers must click on the "Customize Now" button in their email to customize their Riviera Maya boxes.  That is the only way to customize if you're an existing customer.

New subscribers who purchase a Journeebox on the site can customize at the time of purchase.

How long will customization last? Until February 23 at midnight Pacific time for current subscribers.

What Products can be customized? The Ah Cacao Chocolate Bars, the Mayan Sundial Necklace, Sabana Maya Blanket and Riviera Tote Bag. If you're an Annual Member, you can also customize the Tulum Earrings. Kevia will select the embroidered face mask for each subscriber, according to the colors they choose for the other customizable items.

What is in the JourneeBox Riviera Maya Box?

Ah Cacao Chocolate Bars

Value: $4.50

Our Journee to Riviera Maya, Mexico begins with an ancient, adored delicacy: chocolate. Made from the seeds of the Theobroma Cacao cacao tree, the Olmec civilization was one of the earliest civilizations in Latin America and credited as the first to cultivate the cacao plant into chocolate well over 3,000 years ago.

Subscribers will be able to choose between two chocolate bars: either milk chocolate or Mayan dark chocolate.

Tulum Earrings and Mayan Sundial Necklace

Value: Necklace $55, earrings $65

Our Journee to Riviera Maya continues with an iconic sun necklace inspired by the ancient civilization of the Mayans. The sun played an important part in ancient Mayan culture, which included the worship of the sun god, Kinich Ahau. The Mayans were able to keep time using sundials which were incredibly accurate.

These earrings are inspired by architecture from the Mexican city of Tulum. Like these earrings, the architecture of Tulum features interlocking patterns using vertical and horizontal blocks.

Subscribers can select between an antiqued 18k gold or sterling silver finish. The earrings are the annual subscriber bonus item.

Riviera Tote Bag

Value: $55

Inspired by traditional Mexican patterns and vibrant colors, the Riviera Tote Bag is perfect for a trip to the farmers market or grocery store, an afternoon at the beach, or for dashing off to meet friends. The Riviera Tote Bag can hold a beach blanket, a bottle of your favorite beverage and delicious snacks, a loaf of fresh bread and oranges, or a beach towel and a juicy page-turner.

This tote bag is durable, soft and machine washable. Dimensions are 13.5” x 14”, with a handle drop length of 10". You can select from the following two colors: Cream or Indigo.

Sabana Maya Blanket

Sabana blankets have a wide variety of applications. Recently, it has become popular to use them during yoga practice for sitting or standing postures or rolled up for support because of their substantial strength, softness and thickness. They are excellent for a picnic, at an outdoor concert, at the beach, or when camping. The beautiful patterns and designs make them a wonderful decorative item in your home as well.

This Sabana Maya Blanket makes a wonderful rug in your kitchen or living room, a durable table covering or lovely art piece when displayed on a wall. Of course, this blanket is also very comfy to warm up with on a cool night.

The Sabana Maya Blanket is 100% cotton and includes 40% reclaimed material. Some initial pilling of material can be expected. The dimensions of the blanket are 46" x 70". You can select from Colors: Indigo, Mocha or Merlot.

Mexican Embroidered Face Mask

Value: $24

The Mexican Embroidered Face Mask is a vibrant mask featuring a traditional embroidery motif, which is characterized by large flowers in many hues. Colorful textiles have a long history in Mexico, dating back to pre-Hispanic times when cloth was dyed using local plants and embroidered by using the tip of the agave plant as a needle... This embroidery typically depicts the flowers, birds and animals that were local to that area. Traditional patterns varied by region, designs passed down from mother to daughter. These designs are also a reflection of the people who embroider them: they reflect the joy, beauty and struggles that occur in each community, while expressing the creativity of each artisan.

The Mexican Embroidered Face Mask measures 2.5 x 10 inches and is 100% cotton with silk embroidery.

Kevia will choose one of four colors for each subscriber--based on the colors the subscriber selects for the four other customizable box items. Please refer to CDC guidelines re: mask usage.

Wood Molinillo

Value: $21

Spoiler #3 features a molinillo, a traditional wooden whisk that can be found in Mexico, turning many a hot chocolate into a foamy treat. The molinillo can be used to make traditional Mexican drinking chocolate (or any chocolate bar that can be shaved then melted) into delicious foamy, whipped hot chocolate - yes, including the Ah Cacao chocolate we dropped in Spoiler #1. To use, simply place the handle between palms and rotate the molinillo back and forth.

Chocolate looks so gross before hand. Specially the picture of it eaten around the middle like an animal got it and then the insides look like maggots. So gross! Sorry for this but someone else must feel that way right?

That photo has struck me as odd too.

Well, I tried again today and could make a selection for the tote and blanket but all the chocolate and jewelry options show as out of stock. A bit frustrating to get a reminder email to go customize and then not be able to make selections for half the items.

Customer Service

Hi,
So sorry for the technical issue, the tote and blanket are not out of stock. Anyone that was unable to customize these items will be emailed on Monday with a link to customize those items. However, you can email [email protected] now to have your selections manually added to your first order. Apologies.

I’m assuming it has to be a tech issue, because I tried to customize within 3 or so hours of it opening and had those results.
