Ipsy is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. For $13 per month, you get five full-size or deluxe-sized products, plus a cute makeup bag.

This is one of our top recommendations if you are looking for a subscription box - the value and sample sizes are amazing. Just like Birchbox, Ipsy sends out many different variations of their bag each month – so my review is just one of the bag variations you might receive!

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes).

Each month, Ipsy subscribers get a makeup bag in addition to their items. This month's theme was 'Full Hearts.' I love the heart pattern on this month’s bag. It fits perfectly with the Valentine’s Day theme they were going for, and even though I’m not a huge fan of the color red, this bag is undeniably cute. The hardware is shaped like a little heart too!

Now, on to the items!

LANEIGE Water Sleeping Mask, 10 ml - Estimated Retail Value $4.12

I have had the pleasure of trying a few Laneige products in the past, and I have yet to be disappointed. This Laneige Water Sleeping Mask might become one of my new obsessions. I love overnight masks, especially on those nights when I don’t have the energy or mental fortitude to do my entire skincare routine from A to Z. I appreciate that this mask is gel-based, since cream-based products have the tendency to clog the pores of my sensitive skin over time. The morning after applying this mask, I awoke to soft, supple skin that felt as though it had been wrapped in a soothing cocoon of moisture. For optimal hydration, this product’s formula includes squalane. This mask really makes a difference in my skin’s texture, and I love how lightweight and fast-absorbing it is unlike some other overnight masks that tend to create more of a coating that sits atop the skin rather than in it.

KOKIE COSMETICS Gel Ink Dual-Ended Eyeliner, 0.58 g - Retail Value $9.00

I have enjoyed most of the Kokie Cosmetics products I’ve tried in the past, but this Gel Ink Dual-Ended Eyeliner took me by surprise. I don’t believe I’ve ever had the opportunity (or desire) to give a dual-ended eyeliner a try; mostly because I tend to stick to one type of ‘eye look.’ I’m not a makeup artist by any means but I’ve been doing my best to learn, and I’m hoping that having this product on hand will inspire me to try some new-to-me eye looks. One end of this product has a liquid liner for ultra-precise application and the other end features a gel pencil liner. The shade is a nice true black, and the formula seems to be both water-resistant and long-lasting for all-day wear.

ECO LIPS Hemp Cherry Lip Balm, 4.25 g - Retail Value $3.49

Call me basic, but I’m pretty pumped about this lip balm. No matter how many lip balms I seem to have lying around the house at any given time, it always feels like I could use just one more… This Eco Lips Hemp Cherry Lip Balm is a solid product that I’m happy to add to my collection. It has a delicious cherry flavor and scent that packs a punch (think Jolly Ranchers), and I love how moisturizing it is to my lips. The hydration it provides lasts longer than some other lip products I’ve tried in the past, perhaps in part due to its formula, which includes hemp seed oil. Another thing I love about this lip balm is the packaging; it is entirely plant-based and plastic-free, yet functions exactly the same as a regular tube.

KVOSS NYC Perfecting Potion, 10 ml - Retail Value $28.00

Oooh, first of all, I love the name of this product; a potion, how fun! This Perfecting Potion from KVOSS NYC works as both a primer and a highlighter. For me personally, this product does not work as a primer but that’s because I have oily skin, and gel-based primers are what I need to ensure my makeup stays put. As a highlighter it’s a great idea, but again, oily skin here, so my skin tends to already have that natural ‘glisten’ that this product delivers. That said, I was impressed with the breathability of the formula. When I applied this directly to my skin, even though it’s a cream formula, it didn’t have that thick, gloppy feel like some cream-based products do. I’m going to be passing this along to a friend of mine who I know is sure to be very happy with it.

BELLE EN ARGENT Reframing Tinted Brow Gel in Dark Brown, 3 ml - Estimated Retail Value $7.71

I’m not wild about tinted brow gels when it comes to perfecting my brows and getting that bold style that I love. I’m more of an eyebrow pencil kind of girl. That said, even I must admit that this Belle En Argent Reframing Tinted Brow Gel in Dark Brown has a formula that impressed me. When I applied this product, the first thing I noticed was that it didn’t leave my brows feeling like I had just doused them in paint. They were still flexible even after drying down, which is great for all-day wear. This gel comes with a fine brush that allows for easy, precise application, and I was impressed to see how well the tint matched my natural brow color. Equally impressive is the fact that this gel’s formula is infused with jojoba oils, which works overtime to condition your brows, leaving that long-lasting yet flexible hold, while also promoting growth on those stubborn patches that won’t let you forget the over-plucking mistakes of your youth.

Verdict

I really enjoyed this month’s Ipsy Glam Bag. The highlight for me was definitely the Laneige overnight mask; I love how soft it leaves my skin, and it really does a great job of hydrating without making me feel greasy. The Eco Lips balm is a main staple that I will always need, and I was impressed with their sustainability initiative. Belle En Argent’s brow gel is an impressive product and may even have me coming around to the idea of using a brow gel on a more regular basis. I’m pretty excited about the dual-ended eyeliner from Kokie Cosmetics because it really does deliver that true black color, and the convenience and flexibility of the dual-end might just inspire me to test out some new eye looks. Lastly, the primer from KVOSS NYC… It is definitely a quality product and delivers a nice dose of glow whether over or under makeup, but I’ll be passing it along to a friend whose skin will appreciate it more than mine. Overall, I thought this was a great month for Ipsy. The curation of products are well balanced, the value is there, and I even got to try some new-to-me items, which was exciting.

This is a scam. Ipsy took $60.36 out of my account last month and $14.27 out of it for the month of March. I have not received any of their Glam bags. I’m pissed

Well that was a trip! I was thinking about calling Allure anyway, but when I clicked on the Ipsy link above (the very first one right at the beginning of the post) because I also wanted to check on my Ipsy account, it took me to Allure. Lol! I guess that should probably be fixed. But it worked out great for me because I got the phone number to Allure and was able to request the replacement items for the February box.

I just received my February bag today, the 22nd. :(. The bag is cute. Products ok. I picked an item for my March bag today. Hope it gets here faster than the Feb one.

Looks like a really cute bag! I haven’t been a subscriber in a looooong time, but I would have liked all those items (never tried any of them before). I’m looking at resubbing for March, but the bag is…um…well, let’s just say I’ll donate it 😉

I’ve been subscribed for a couple months, but I’m really disappointed in the slow shipping! If I’m not going to get my February bag until the end of February, please just call it a March bag and look like you’re ahead instead of dreadfully behind. I believe that the problem is DHL but still.

My bag didn’t even ship until the night of the 16th, so while DHL can be slow Ipsy is mostly to blame. It’s pretty ridiculous at this point.

I received the eyeliner and it’s great! It doesn’t budge. The Benefit rollerball mascara works well, too.

I was so disappointed in this months. I did not get all the same items.

I do not like Laneige the smell is too much. The primer and serum sample I received are so tiny no way to even know if they work. I got a duo pencil and it smudges terribly that was the only full size product. I got a tweezer which is ok.
