The Dapper Dog Box is a pet subscription box that sends out toys, treats, and accessories tailored to your dog’s size and chewing styles – and now, they offer a bandana in every box. For $35.99 per month, you receive five items, and treats are always made in the USA. They also donate a portion of sales to shelters and rescues with each box purchased.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

What's Inside the December Box

Look at that smile! Murray is ready to dig in!

Christmas Bandana

Every month Dapper Dog includes a festive double-sided bandana. This style is simple to tie and fits perfectly around my dog's neck. This month is holiday-oriented featuring a Christmas tree print on one side and nutcrackers on the flip side.

Dressed in his best and ready for some goodies, Murray, my 10-year-old Corgi-Maltese is sporting a medium bandana.

Dapper Dog Bone Shaped Toy

This bone is a repeat item from last December. Here is what we thought about it then:

This bone is rather plain, but it has a fun, high-pitched squeaker that Murray enjoyed very much. This is a great-sized toy for Murray and perfect for his light chewing and playing habits.

It is always a bummer to receive repeat toys since the world is so full of amazing dog products that could drive Murray into a play frenzy. This toy didn't blow our minds the first time, and the second time around was no different. "Life is too short for toys that don't wow." --Murray.

Zippy Paws Large Squeaky Penguin Plush - Retail Value $15.00

This toy looked familiar to me, but I couldn't find it in any of our past reviews. This penguin is a crinkly, squeaky, good boy's dream. Murray loved playing tug-of-war with this bird's appendages, and the squeak was satisfying enough to keep him busy for the whole afternoon.

Happy boy!

Holiday Trio and Pumpkin Hearts Biscuits

Of course, Murray is partial to a chewy, meaty treat, but that didn't stop him from thoroughly enjoying every crumb of each of these treats. As a dog mom, I am pretty careful of what I feed my boy, and simple ingredient lists are what I like to see from manufacturers. I love that I can pronounce each listing, and they are everyday ingredients that I know will keep Murray happy, healthy, and begging for more. The cute shapes make us happy, too!

"Oh, I couldn't possibly... maybe just a little taste." Mur was happy to bashfully polish off a sample of each treat.

Verdict

Dapper Dog's December box was what we've come to expect from Dapper Dog. With every box, we know we are going to get two big bags of wholesome treats, two toys that entertain, and a bandana that makes Murray feel like a little gentleman. We weren't impressed with the repeat bone toy, but he'll likely use it as a festive pillow to finish off this holiday season. The $35.99 price seems costly for this month's box, but if you're a busy dog mom who is looking for a consistent flow of treats, entertainment, and looks, then you may enjoy this subscription.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.
