Now, on to the items!

IZZY & LIV ‘Must Be the Melanin’ Sassy Socks, 3-pack - Retail Value $18

I think cozy socks are the perfect way to start a November box. I’ve always been a fan of fun, crazy, and cute socks, so I was thrilled to find this trio in this month’s Brown Sugar Box. I love the fun POC-positive designs. These 100% cotton socks are super soft and warm and will definitely keep my feet toasty for when I venture out of sunny Los Angeles to visit family in those dark, cold places of the US. I’m pretty short, so these socks come up a little more than mid-calf on me, which is perfect for pairing with boots. I hate when my socks are just a little too short and roll down into the bottom of my Uggs. Subscribers could have received one of five different sassy sock designs: Must Be the Melanin, Faces of Many, Soul Sisters, Afro Chic, and African Camo Dreams. I received ‘Must Be the Melanin.’

IZZY & LIV ‘Bow Down’ Royal Mug with Crown and Spoon - Retail Value $28

I love, love, love this three-piece mug set. It is so adorable, with a little golden crown lid. I get serious Beyonce vibes from the script lettering of ‘Bow Down,’ on the front of this cream-colored ceramic mug. The tiny little spoon is so cute and perfect for stirring or fishing out my teabag. I like that the cup holds 12 ounces. A lot of novelty cups tend to be on the smaller side. I just have to remember that this fabulous set is not dishwasher or microwave-safe, but it’s definitely a piece that I will not mind hand-washing. Subscribers could have received one of three designs: Queen Supreme, Crown Me, or Bow Down. I received ‘Bow Down.’

IZZY & LIV 'Limited Edition' Satin-Lined Beanie - Retail Value $25

Hooray, a satin-lined beanie! Every time I get winter gear in a subscription box, it’s always just a regular old hat that messes up my edges and leaves my hair looking frizzy AF. The satin lining in this beanie is soft and silky and helps protect my hair and control frizz while comfortably keeping my head warm. I love the color, and I love the text stitched on the front, ‘Limited Edition.’ I find it fun and trendy. This is the second piece from this box that will definitely be venturing into the cold, over the hills, and through the woods, when I head out to Grandmother’s house. Subscribers could have received one of four designs: Silently Judging You, Limited Edition, Don’t Let the Cute Face Fool You, and It’s Me for Me. I received ‘Limited Edition.’

IZZY & LIV Coffee of Grace 'Full City' Roasted Coffee - Retail Value $7

Coffee for Brown Sugar Box November 2021

The way to my heart in the mornings is definitely through caffeine. I’m a huge coffee fan, and I love how this box was curated with an adorable mug and also something to go in it. This coffee was rich with notes of chocolate and fresh fruit. It was pretty smooth, rich, and flavorful, with a clean finish. The brand Coffee of Grace is a female-owned company based in Rwanda that believes in fair trade, direct sourcing, ethical practices, and environmental stewardship. Subscribers could have received one of three flavors: Full City, KIVU - Medium Light, or In This Together - Medium Light. I received ‘Full City.’

IZZY & LIV ‘Hey Girl Hey' Button-Up Tunic - Retail Value $39

This is a cute button-up in a tunic style. It’s a very lightweight, comfortable fabric, with very little stretch to it, but I found it true to size. I’m a little short, so lengthwise, this tunic is more of a gown for me, so I may be passing it on to one of my friends who isn’t so vertically challenged like myself. But I love how the long sleeves with cuffs can be rolled up and buttoned to style the tunic in multiple ways. I found it to be very versatile and comfy, but sadly, just a little too long. Subscribers could have received one of five designs: African Camo Dreams, Warrior Empress, Hey Girl Hey, Safari Queens, or Unbothered, Unapologetic, and Unbossed. I received ‘Hey Girl Hey.’

Verdict

I was truly delighted with the curation of this month’s Brown Sugar Box. I love the mug set. It was so adorable and the crown lid made it especially unique. I also love how it paired with the Coffee of Grace roasted coffee. I enjoyed the rich chocolatey notes in this roast and can’t wait to make myself a mocha with it. I’m really happy with the satin-lined beanie and the sassy socks set. The beanie is perfect for keeping my head warm and my hair protected. The socks are super warm and soft and will definitely keep my feet cozy during long holiday flights. Lastly, the button-up tunic. I really like how versatile and lightweight it is, and I know one of my taller friends will really enjoy it. Overall, I think this was a really great box. The curation was on point for the season, and everything went hand-in-hand.
