First Impressions

This box doesn't come with an info sheet, but it does have a card with a QR code you can scan. The contents of the box are snuggly packaged inside- and it is always nice to see full-size products once you tear the tissue paper away.

BomiBox October 2021 –Thank You Box #10

Ti'am Snail & Azulene Low pH Cleanser, 200 mL - Retail Value $14

lilac colored tube of cleanser

This cleanser checks off a lot of the boxes I look for in a cleanser. This had a gel texture, which I prefer, and it foamed up nicely when water was added. It's formulated with some ingredients that my skin really loves like snail extract and azulene (a derivative of blue tansy), and this effectively cleansed my skin while being gentle and non-stripping. Lastly, the price for a full-size tube is awesome- this product is a win all around for me.

AHC Youth Lasting Real Eye Cream, 1 oz - Retail Value $11.87

blue and gold ombre tube next to blue and gold ombre box

This is a really lightweight moisturizing cream- it has a texture that reminds me of water creams because it absorbs into your skin almost instantly once you start applying it and it doesn’t feel greasy on your skin at all. The concept of this cream is that you can use it as an eye cream, but you can also use it all over your face. I did just that, and I enjoyed it. My dry skin needs something heavier than this when it’s really cold, but considering thanksgiving day was 75 degrees here, I can still get away with products like this.

Taeyang Volume By Taeyang Keratin, 50 mL - Retail Value $9

white box next to brown and grey bottle of styling spray

This is a volumizing hair styling spray that also adds shine to your hair. I don't usually seek out products like that because of my curls, but I gave this a try. It's a lightweight spray that didn't leave my hair feeling sticky, and I did notice an increase in shine. I didn't really see a difference in volume, but my curls are heavy so it's rare for me to get a lot of volume from a product unless it has a super-strong hold (which I don't like to use). If your hair is different from mine, I think you'll probably enjoy this.

Benton Shea Butter Coconut Hand Cream, 50 g - Retail Value $11

metallic yellow hand cream next to bold gold-yellow box

I really like the Benton brand- none of their products have done me wrong yet, and their aloe propolis line is loved by my sensitive skin. If I’ve tried hand cream from them before, I don’t remember it. This was a really solid one- it’s made with 20% Shea butter and 3% coconut oil for a really luxurious hand cream that almost has a balmy texture. It was a heavier hand cream but I wouldn’t say it left my hands super greasy because I was able to use my phone right away after applying it. A small feature I appreciated about this is the box is made with 100% sugar cane paper and is printed with soy ink, so it’s completely biodegradable. I hope more brands follow suit in their packaging!

About Me Medi Answer Collagen Set - Retail Value $76

This set comes with the Medianswer Collagen Firming Up Gel Skin 130ml + 20ml and Medianswer Collagen Firming Up Gel Emulsion 130ml + 20ml

I think this is the highest-valued single item I’ve received in a Bomibox. Sure, it’s technically four products (two full sizes, two minis), but the set counts as one in the Bomibox web page for this box so that’s how I’m counting it too. I’m glad this set came with minis I could try before opening the full-size bottles, and now that I’ve used this a few times I’m not sure I will. The textures on both the gel and the emulsion are thicker than I was anticipating. I was expecting liquid-y toners or watery serums, but the gel is a thick gel and the emulsion is a thicker cream serum. I do really like the ingredients list- there’s a high concentration of hydrolyzed collagen, 9 different peptides, and niacinamide. The gel also has Centella Asiatica (a favorite of mine) while the emulsion has different botanical extracts. I think this set would be fun for someone who didn’t really use skincare often (or even maybe a teenager?), but I’m not sure how to make these products work for me in my existing routine. I did have a lot of fun trying them out, though, and that’s what subscription boxes are about.

Blithe Pressed Serum Tundra Chaga, 10 mL - Estimated Value $9 (buy the 50 mL version for $45)

This pressed serum is fun- it has a texture like a thick pudding (almost like Jell-O) where you have to use pressure to get the product out of the jar, but then it absorbs almost instantly and leaves your skin feeling silky. This features mushroom extract as one of the key ingredients, which is something my sensitive skin loves. I think I’ve tried this pressed serum before in a box, but I am not mad about seeing it again when it’s so fun to use

SomeByMi Real Honey Luminous Mask - Retail Value $1.99

white and yellow sheet mask

I've tried this mask line before, and I was happy to see two from the product line inside the box. The sheet mask material on this mask was really thin and fit my face incredibly well, and that good fit allowed the essence to really absorb into my dry skin. I love honey as a skincare ingredient and honey is the star of the formula. This mask is really soaked with essence, but my skin drank it right up.

SomeByMi Real Hyaluronic Hydra Care Mask - Retail Value $1.99

blue and white sheet mask

I had a really similar experience with this mask, except the star ingredient was hyaluronic acid instead of honey. I love hydrating sheet masks, so this was right up my alley. I used it after applying a clay mask because I knew my skin needed the boost of hydration, and this super-soaked sheet mask gave my skin exactly that.

Key Takeaways

If you're looking for a monthly beauty box comprised exclusively of K-Beauty products, Bomibox is one of the best out there. This was a really great month from them, and I appreciate just how jam-packed with items it was this month. I really enjoy being exposed to new products and new brands I otherwise wouldn't have even known existed. The surprise stars for me this month were the Ti'am cleanser and Benton hand cream, and I love that those products were full-size. This month's box has the highest value I recall ever seeing in a Bomibox, and I am excited to see what December brings.
