Design Table Runner — Territory
A choice product alongside the Lark & Ives Continental Snap Wallet and Jules Kae Pom Beanie, this 18" x 70" table runner is perfect for the return of family gatherings and dinner nights with friends.
Made from 100% ethically sourced cotton with certified AZO free and low-impact dyes, this rich indigo runner was designed in collaboration with TERRITORY and crafted by a female-led artisan group in Jaipur, India. The screen-printed center design alternates from a clear white to a warmer hue, with the organic, slightly wavy lines adding a lived-in touch. While it was made to warmly top the table, we ourselves feel inclined to hang it as an art piece or drape it over a rustic ladder by the fireplace.
TERRITORY, the brand behind it, was created by two meditation and mindfulness practitioners, Rebecca and Summer. With backgrounds in peace building and development work in Latin America, and experience advocating for social justice in Africa, they sought to examine the effects of consumption and explore a different kind of consumer culture: one based on purpose and intention. What could mindful purchasing look like, and how could it have a positive effect on our environment, society, and personal lives? These questions are woven into their line of homewares and goods — including this table runner — all intended to help you craft a well-lived life.
The production of this piece helped employ 50 weavers, 28 printers, and roughly 57 additional workers which helped with sewing, cutting, packaging, and quality assurance — all of whom earned 40% above the local minimum wage, meeting far above the living wage standard.
Pro tip: for best care, hand or machine wash this runner on cold, lay it flat to dry, and iron on medium (non-print side only) as necessary.
