First Impressions

The FaceTory Lux Plus Box comes packaged in a light pink box with the items inside securely packed with bubble wrap. You can always expect to find a little booklet full of info about each item included in the box. This is an excellent guide for learning more about the ingredients inside each formula and the correct way to use them.

The Breakdown – What’s Inside The Box

Dr. Althea Skin Relief Essence, 1 oz – Retail Value $18

This was my favorite full-size item in the box. It’s packed with great for your skin ingredients like glycerin, hyaluronic acid, and ceramides. The star ingredient, though, is my favorite: centella asiatica. Centella (also known as cica) is full of antioxidants and amino acids, and it’s great at soothing stressed or irritated skin while supporting a healthy moisture barrier. I love to use cica in every routine I do, and since this has the texture of a thin, watery serum it layers really well in my routine.

Needly Daily Toner Pad, 60 ct – Retail Value $26

These toning pads are great. They have salicylic acid and gluconolactone to gently exfoliate, and they also have mugwort, cica, and hyaluronic acid to soothe and hydrate. The pads are well-saturated with enough essence to cover your skin as you swipe the pad across your face and neck, and I love how gentle these pads are on my sensitive skin.

Aida Propolis Calming Ampoule Gel Cleanser, 0.84 oz – Retail Value $15

I love propolis, but this cleanser was just kind of meh for me. It has the texture of a clear gel and not a lot of slip, and while it didn’t dry my skin out it also wasn’t hydrating. It got the job done, but nothing in particular about this cleanser sparked joy for me.

BRTC Vitamin C-20 Antioxidant Ampoule, 20 mL – Retail Value $25

I know vitamin C is a great ingredient for your morning skincare routine, but there are very few vitamin C serums my skin actually likes. This ampoule features 20% ascorbic acid, and that’s paired with soothing botanical extracts like clary, lavender, and hyacinth along with ferulic acid and adenosine. I didn’t find this to be sticky the way some vitamin C serums can be, and I didn’t notice any irritation while using this either.

Glowiest Youthful Glow Mangosteen Mask and Peachy Glow Hydrating Mask Duo – Retail Value $6

These are two sheet masks that come attached together, I found that to be a fun novelty. The purple mask is designed to help your skin glow, and the blue mask is for hydration. I found the ingredients lists to be largely similar with the exception of a few ingredients, and both were enjoyable to wear. Honestly, I couldn't really tell a difference in performance between the two, but I like how the mask material was super thin which resulted in great-fitting sheet masks.

Meditime Jeju Deumppook Tumeric Mask – Retail Value $3

This sheet mask is so juicy- this is definitely the kind of mask where essence may drip down your neck. That doesn't bother me, but I could see how some people wouldn't love it. The mask is formulated with a high concentration of turmeric extract, which is great for fighting inflammation while also providing a boost of antioxidants. I love how well this mask fits my face, too- it is one of the closest I've come to having a perfect fit. If you're like me and extra juicy sheet masks don't bother you, this mask was superb. If you don't enjoy a very wet sheet mask experience, this may not be for you (and that's okay too!).

JM Solution Active Bird’s Nest Moisture Mask – Retail Value $2

I love JM Solution masks, and I'm pretty sure I have tried this one in particular before from a different subscription box. Don't let that affordable price tag fool you- this mask is fantastic. If you have dry skin like me and love it when a sheet mask acts like a tall drink of water for your skin, this does a perfect job (without any excess serum dripping down your neck). The star ingredient in this hydrating mask is bird's nest extract, which is a prized ingredient in traditional medicine that boosts your skin's moisture retention. Along with that, the formula has multiple forms of hyaluronic acid, hydrolyzed collagen, and mugwort extract. The mask material is very soft, and it fit my face really well without sliding out of place the way some masks tend to do.

Petitfee Agave Cooling Hydrogel Face Mask – Retail Value $2

This is another mask I have tried previously thanks to a different subscription box, and I was so stoked to see it inside the box- I love hydrogel face masks and $2 is an awesome price for a good one. This is made with both agave and blueberry extract to give your skin a boost of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory goodness, and that combined with the cooling texture of the hydrogel makes for a sheet mask that is a delight to use on sunburned skin or skin that may be dealing with an acne breakout. Hydrogel masks are notorious for being extra slippery, so I love how this mask came in two parts so I could get the best fit for my face.

FaceTory PM Spot Fighter Blemish Patches, 78 ct – Retail Value $11.95

I love pimple patches- they do a great job at keeping my skin from being picked at by my anxious fingers when I have a zit, and as a result my acne usually lasts for a shorter duration with a lot less scarring. These are just your standard hydrocolloid patches with no added ingredients that work to absorb fluid your pimples may be holding onto, and they have a solid adhesive so they don't fall off my face while I sleep. I appreciate that this pack comes with two different sizes of pimple patches, too.

*Note- our photographer received the AM pimple patches, but my box came with the PM pimple patches and that's what is listed on the info sheet.

Key Takeaways

This was my first time trying the quarterly Facetory Lux Plus subscription, and I enjoyed it. I like that I was exposed to new brands like Dr. Althea and Needly, and I appreciate that it combines full-size products with sheet masks so I can cover all of my K-Beauty bases. The cleanser was really the only thing this month that was a miss for me, and I am not bothered by that at all. Overall, I think this was a well-curated box that sent high-quality products, and I enjoyed my first Lux Plus experience.

I have been getting this box for quite awhile and I would have to agree. There are only four full size products and I am used to getting probably 6-8.

Really? I honestly don’t recall this box having a lot more products in it.

I would love to see a post strictly about the best of the best sheet masks. There are so so many (RIP Earth) and most of them claim to do the same thing (hydration!) but I would love to know which ones truly stand out.

Glad Lux Plus is being reviewed again. It’s one of the best subs. I love anything with cicada or mugwort. I missed this box. Would love to try the viva essence!
