Did anyone who is an annual subscriber renew recently? If so, did you get another mega bundle? How was it?

Rebecca

The renewal gift was pretty underwhelming. It was basically the same stuff I got in my last renewal “mega-bundle.” A couple brushes, an Anastasia lippie that was too brown for me, an eyeshadow trio I already have, some skincare samples, an eyeliner, a mascara, a self-tanning spray sample.

Wendy

Hmm. That does sound like last year’s bundle. I was hoping for some things from this year that I liked and wouldn’t mind getting again.

Wendy

Next spoiler, please.

I canceled this month and went with boxy charm instead because more full sized products and one spoiler. I liked allure because it gave you spoiler. I don’t want this one and still no other spoilers for me to chance it. Had to Pass.

Sue

Hmmm, hoping Allure releases new spoilers soon, getting ready to cancel this month otherwise…

Saaame. I feel like it’s a ploy to get people to not skip but it’s doing the opposite. It makes the consumer think there isn’t anything else exciting in the upcoming box because if there was they’d spoil it right?

I’m looking forward to this because I love Tarte & haven’t tried this one yet. I liked last month’s “October” box (after skipping many months).

I’m so done with Allure. The spoilers are always late, I came for skincare knowing they eventually would put some makeup but come on it’s too much makeup already. Personally I don’t like Dermstore they only have one or two good size products and the rest are minis. So glad I only have 4 more boxes to go I can’t stand the spoilers always late and the price isn’t matching the box lately.

I’m not sure where you’ve been that you think the spoilers are late. There for a while we were getting them months in advance. This spoiler for November was posted on MSA on October 1. Do you want to know 6 months in advance?

Reply ButtonReply

Nova

Lol drop the attitude, Miss “6 months in advance”. Allure has been slacking for the past few months and you should know that well enough if you’ve been here long enough to remember when they were actually sending out decent items AND releasing the entire spoiler ahead of time.

Ash

Lol we have gotten ONE spoiler for November and it’s the 23rd of October. It’s not outrageous to expect more spoilers by now. Also, your argument “we used to get spoilers months in advance!” Yeah, and? The fact remains its almost November and we’ve gotten one.

Nikki

Well i mean there’s only one spoiler right now and it’s a basic liner. They used to put out the spoilers for the box mostly out by now, so quite frankly I’m not sure where you’ve been that you don’t realize this is late in comparison!

Shea

If you want a box with skincare, the see new box is the best!!!! It has quality full-size products!

Kristin

I’m thrilled for make up!

Allure is the best beauty box hands down, no comparison and I don’t mind receiving a mix of skin care, hair and high end makeup. I love trying new products, colors etc. Tarte is one of my favorites!

Lana

Their website says that Rose Gold comes with a Brown liner and this says Black. Is there a mistake or did they make a specific one for the box?

Reply ButtonReply

Rachel

I’ll just add this to my give away pile. I have hooded and crepe eyelids and can only apply liner with a brush. My cousin will like this though.

If I wanted makeup, I would have kept my Ipsy subscription. I got Allure Beauty Box for the skincare. I don’t mind an occasional lip tint but I keep my skin looking good so that I don’t need makeup. It is so disappointing to see them not stay true to their base. They are losing so many customers since they included that made in China cream in August and then makeup not many people want. They should really stick to high quality skincare. That’s how they built their fan base.

Sorry, but what does good skin have to do with eyeshadow & eyeliner? 😂

I just wanted to point out that not everyone is just like you. I too prefer the skincare heavy box, Im obsessed with skincare, love trying new products, and I go through it much more quickly than makeup. However, I still love doing makeup, and I use it to create whatever aesthetic I’m feeling in the moment, as well as for artistic expression. And even though I take good care of my skin, I’m hypersensitive, work in a hot kitchen (in a nightmare mask), and I experience hormonal breakouts, so I also use makeup to feel beautiful, or feel like myself, as needed.

And even though I tend toward bright bold colors, vampy goth shades, or sparkly glitter products, I still often enjoy the inclusion of makeup in my boxes, even though sometimes the products aren’t exactly my speed. I still do natural makeup looks plenty, but receiving those kinds of products can be boring, and depending on the product, it might not get used too often.

But despite my propensity for skincare & crazy makeup, I know that many others enjoy the easy to use makeup products in natural shades that are sent out, and so I don’t mind getting them in a box that’s meant to be a mixed bag.

When I need a bigger skincare fix, I turn to my seenew skincare box 😌 I highly recommend that one, the products are very high quality. There are a number of skincare focused boxes out there (I’ve only tried seenew) and I would suggest looking at some of those if you really don’t want makeup! Allure is not *supposed* to be skincare only.

I do agree, however, about the quality of products included. I haven’t tried the 111 cream yet, but I was definitely not thrilled to get it…and being mad about those kinds of products in the box is an absolutely valid complaint. The inclusion of less than stellar brands lately is exactly why I cancelled. And why I’m thinking of ending my longtime love affair with ipsy gbp 😭

This was very well said, Gabriella! I like that Allure branches out into skincare, makeup, and haircare. It keeps it exciting and fresh (usually). I am obsessed with skincare as well, but truth be told, me without makeup is just plain scary 😆 In fact, when I have to take it off at night, I feel like all my super powers are gone 😭

And I agree about See New. Excellent skincare only sub.

Melissa

I’ve been subbed to Allure for years – all the way back to when it was still called Sample Society. It has *always* included a mix of skincare, makeup, and hair products, and even fragrance. They used to include nail polish, too. I don’t know how long you’ve been subscribed and how you think you know who their “base” is, but it seems that you are not very informed.

You should try Dermstore’s box. It’s entirely skincare. I had been looking for one like it because there is a mask mandate where I live. (:

This looks nice to try

Note to self- do not test! Save as extra for niece’s Christmas gift. I hope the future spoilers are more appealing to me as this is my second to last box on my year subscription and I just want to be DONE!

Elizabeth

I wish I could try more of them but don’t want to waste them and not be able to give-away. It would be nice if they would add more details in the description, i.e. Best for Oily Skin, Acne-Prone, Dry Skin, etc.

I have one of these eye pencils from Tarte and it’s great! I use the pencil part as a base for my eye shadow.

Yuck. Hope it’s prettier in person.

IF THE NEXT ITEMS ARE SKINCARE ONLY I WILL NOT SKIP. IF THERE IS ANOTHER MAKEUP ITEM I WILL HAVE TO SKIP. I DON’T WEAR MAKEUP. ONLY REASON I SIGNED UP TO ALLURE SINCE THERE ISN’T MANY BOXES THAT ARE SKINCARE ONLY; THE ONES THAT ARE AREN’T VERY PLEASING.

Alleson

Have you looked into See New: The skincare box? It’s nothing but skincare. I have super dry skin, and have found some amazing products this way.

Reply ButtonReply

Monica

That’s why I’m a fan too, they’re heavy on high end skin care.

Reply ButtonReply

Nat

This looks interesting. I am not mad at this spoiler at all. I like Tarte brand in general

Reply ButtonReply

Izzie

Not a fan, we just got eye shadow for October and an eye liner with a shadow for November looks a bit too similar to me.

Kai
