ShoeDazzle Plus: Back in Black

Plus Size Crochet Knit Dolman Wrap Top, Size 3x– Retail Value $49.95

Wrap dresses flatter just about every shape and figure, so my logic was to try this wrap top as well. In theory, it is cute and the Dolman sleeves are an awesome detail. However, the fabric has limited stretch and the wrap style just was not a good choice. Have you ever seen that scene in the movie, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, where a distressed Ron takes a huge swig of milk on a hot San Diego day and wails, “Milk was a BAD CHOICE!” This was me trying on this top, sans the milk. It, oddly, just feel too loose on me in the chest. This is a strange scenario that myself and my ample bosoms are not used to– everything is usually way too tight in the chest on me! I managed to tie the top, but I constantly felt exposed. I had to keep readjusting because my bra wanted to pop out and say hello to everyone. I would much prefer this style in a faux wrap and made from a slinkier, stretchier fabric to hug my curves better. Even with my frustrations, I do think if it fits you properly, this can be a great summer staple. I love the crop style with the slight exposure of the midsection– it is too cute! This would look fantastic with anything from Palazzo to dress pants to mini or maxi skirts– you got it made!

Plus Size Pointelle Knit Pants, Size 3x— Retail Value $62.95

Typically, I avoid wider legs or cropped style pants. I generally gravitate either to shorts or skinny-leg jeans, but I am flexible and was curious how I would feel about these pants. I was pleasantly surprised by this style! The fit is great– they are ultra-comfy with lots of room and stretch. The pointelle detail is a lovely touch that truly adds depth and personality to the pants. If I were still in an office environment, these would be my spring and summer go-to pants. They feel like pajamas but are absolutely adorable. Plus, since they are in black, they are incredibly versatile. You can easily wear this with a striped t-shirt, jean jacket, and low-top Chuck Purcells for a casual Friday look. For a regular weekday office look, pair this with a short-sleeved mock turtleneck, flats, and some statement earrings for a chic ensemble.

Verdict

This month’s ShoeDazzle was a classic all-black outfit that would appeal to most anyone! Aside from the fit of the top, this is an outfit that would be fantastic for a summer vacation or to wear on a dinner date. I was so pleased to have an actual outfit to review for you all– especially since I got it on sale! Though I was able to find actual clothing pieces this go around, it was sadly still slim pickings. Every month when I go to pick out items to show off to you all, I find myself peeved about the paltry Plus size options compared to our straight-sized counterparts’ selections. ShoeDazzle truly has some of the best sales and member incentive programs, but if you can’t find something in your size to wear, how are you supposed to take advantage of any of it? I truly hope ShoeDazzle sees this: I am begging you to expand what you offer to us, bodacious babes. We have money, we want to buy cute fashions from you too! Please, hear my requests and give us plus-size babes the clothing options we deserve! Frustrations aside, I definitely love the outfit that I got, especially the pants. What did you think of this month’s pieces? Are you excited to see what I get next month as well?
