Another day, another NFL team launching a wine subscription box. Wait. What? Yup, the Baltimore Ravens are launching a wine subscription box, and they're not even the first football team to get in the (wine) game!
Dubbed the Winning Drive Club, the subscription box will deliver six bottles of wine to subscribers' doorsteps twice a year, as well as giving club members special access to wines and the chance to send gifts to friends and family.
The name "Winning Drive" refers to the home of the Ravens in Owings Mills, Maryland — the Under Armour Performance Center is technically located at 1 Winning Drive. It's also now the official brand name of the Winning Drive Napa Valley, a partnership with the well-known Fairwinds Estate Winery in Calistoga, California.
The new subscription comes on the heels of a similar announcement this summer from Nashville's NFL team, the Tennessee Titans, which we revealed here on MSA. The Titans have likewise paired up with Fairwinds for their Foolish Club.
Curious about buying in? Here's how it works:
- Would-be subscribers can pay $50 now to be given a "seniority" spot in the subscription service. The fee is not refundable, but it will be deducted from the eventual cost of the first shipment. Seniority will determine access to various parks down the line.
- Shipments will be customizable, and final cost will be anywhere from $290 to $450 plus tax and shipping, depending on what you choose. Regardless, there will be a minimum of six wine bottles per shipment.
- The first shipment will go out in November of 2021, followed by a delivery in March of 2022. Deliveries will continue to be made twice a year.
There are plenty of wine subscription boxes out there — you can see our list of the best — but what do you think of wine from the Baltimore Ravens?
