Let's peek inside!

Votary Brightening Hyaluronic Serum, 50 mL - Retail Value $118.00

The first thing I noticed about this product (other than that totally iconic green Votary bottle) was the heavenly scent of this stuff. It is floral and clean and very pretty when settled onto skin. The texture of this serum is a medium-weight gel that absorbs really fast! A little also goes a long, long way, so you can look forward to this bottle hanging around for a while. Inside this clear goo is a blend of antioxidants (daffodil extract, bilberry), gentle exfoliators (glycolic and salicylic acids), and hydrating hyaluronic acid. On my face, it had a quick plumping effect and gave a nice natural glow that I loved, especially under my sunscreen. Speaking of layering, I found this formula to play very nicely with the other products I like on my face and makeup. The fact that this is non-pilling makes me love it even more.

Votary Intense Overnight Mask, 50 mL - Retail Value $136.00

Your skin does most of its healing and rejuvenating overnight, so a heavy-duty mask like this is just the ticket for providing extra nutrients for this process. I tend to have drier skin and this is especially troublesome in the winter months when my face is wind-chapped and pretty much miserable. I really rely on thicker sleep products much like this one to give me a little relief and help my skin heal overnight. Now, I know it is still summer, so many of you might not be reaching for this just yet. But you should also know that products like this provide benefits to sunburnt skin too, so even if it feels a little heavy for this season, trying this out on your sunkissed skin overnight will really help speed the healing process by boosting your skins moisture levels with hyaluronic acid, adding healthy lipids from botanical oils, and adding in a great antioxidant boost to protect your skin from premature aging. The texture is a heavier but extremely velvety cream, and it has a very slight nutty scent with very faint hints of lavender and orange.

Verdict: This Boxwalla Beauty box had a total value of $254 which is fantastic for a $49.95 box. I already know and adore the Votary brand, so I am always thrilled to try out new formulas from them at such a great price. I also thought that although this box was only two products, it was well-rounded. Any skin type can benefit from the serum and anyone will fall in love with the mask, even if only used as a spot treatment for dryness or during the colder months. This Boxwalla felt super luxe and I am excited to enjoy these two new additions to my collection.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I’m so tempted by this box. Is the serum okay for sensitive skin? I’m pretty cautious with AHAs, but the rest of the ingredients seem so soothing, I’m wondering if I could actually use it.

Yes, my skin is very fair; it reacts to harsh ingredients and very concentrated products. The serum in this box is beautiful and smells divine. I’ve been using it for last two weeks and had zero issues. The facemask is very hydrating and safe for sensitive skin too. I’ve had subscriptions for Beauty Heroes, Detox Market, and Laurel and Reed. So far, Boxwalla is my favorite one and I am keeping it no matter what.
