Beachly Beauty Box July 2021 Review

COOLA Mineral Sun Silk Creme, 1.5 fl oz - Retail Value $42.00

I am more of a chemical sunscreen sort of gal, but I can always appreciate a physical/mineral formula like this that feels great and doesn't leave a white cast on my skin. I also really like the COOLA brand in general because they approach SPF from a very skincare sort of lens and their formulas include loads of other skin-loving goodies. Take this formula: in addition to SPF 30, it also has aloe and niacinamide inside, both of which are moisturizing. Niacinamide also brings benefits like brightening and acne-fighting to the table. The texture of this cream is super lightweight and it absorbs quickly, leaving behind softness and a very mild floral scent.

Côte No. 12 Nail Polish, 11 mL - Retail Value $18.00

So I think this color is very pretty, just not on me. At all. It is a pale peach shade with a subtle pearl finish that would be gorgeous on someone with a warmer or more olive skin tone. The formula was a two-coater and had great coverage and that plump gel sort of look that I appreciate. I also love smaller nail polish brands so this was a good addition to the box, even with a color that won't work for me. I will be passing this along to a friend but totally plan on shopping for a more flattering shade from Côte later.

Not for me, but still pretty.

All Good Get Glowing Shimmer, 5 g - Retail Value $20.00

If there is one sort of formula that always gets me excited, it is a multi-pot of some sort. This one is very subtle but very cool at the same time. You can use this balm as a natural-looking highlighter or add shine and shimmer to your lips. Heck, you could even use this on your eyelids for just a hint of sparkle! This is absolutely going to please a minimalist more than a makeup maximalist, but since I fall into the former category, I am into it. It is smooth, sheer, and has a wonderfully yummy vanilla scent.

Just a little moonbeam sort of shimmer!

Cardea AuSet Sea Rose Mineral Soak Mini, 2 oz - Retail Value $8.00

Oh, this stuff is delightful! The rose petals give the chunky salt such a wonderful perfume. This sachet of Dead Sea salt and Himalayan salt is the perfect amount for a bath or a few smaller foot soaks. Though it does leave a slightly messy bathtub, it is totally worth it.

Mer-Sea Sun Kissed Pocket Hand Sanitizer, 0.7 fl oz - Retail Value $7.00

Our last item is something I always like to keep in my purse, though I have rarely had such a stylish option. This little pocket mist is about the size of a credit card, though much thicker. It fits perfectly in the smaller side pocket of my purse and has a pretty scent that reminds me of summer, with citrus and spice notes.

Verdict: This Beachly Beauty Box felt like something different in the beauty box category. Sure, it is going to be for a certain type of beauty enthusiast, but if you are into suncare and minimal beauty products for a natural look, that might just be you! I do think this box would have felt like a total home run for someone like me if the polish had just been a better shade, but I am probably a lot paler than most beachy babes out there so I don't want to hold that against this box. I loved that the SPF product was worth more than the cost of the box by quite a lot and that it was from a brand I already loved. It made the rest of that box just feel like a big bonus. There was a total value inside of $95, which is good for a $29 box, though not staggering compared to bigger boxes out there. Still, I am excited to see this new box develop!

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

After receiving their second box in May/June, I skipped this one since the sunscreen is the only item I’m interested in. The payment date for August was approaching, so I skipped it also. I still see no spoilers. I love the idea, so I’m hoping they work out the process.

I think their first box was amazing, the second box not so much. Waiting to find out what is in their third (August.) I don’t like when spoilers are so late so ended up cancelling.

I feel like this box 100% NAILED their target audience and delivered a perfect box for the lifestyle it is geared towards! It is the perfect box for Beachy beauty. The sunscreen is a reputable one with a great value, the polish is subtle (I am also too pale for it but I feel like Megan said, probably most beachy babes meet the target audience for it), the shimmer is gorgeous and totally appropriate for a beachy look. I am just totally stoked to see a box get it so right!
