The new designs for the August 2021 Ipsy Glam Bag, Glam Bag Plus and Glam Bag X are finally here!

JoAnn Wong, Ipsy's bag designer, says the August bags are ready to be your ride or die bestie:

Whether you’re jet-setting for an overdue vacay or taking a long weekend to rest and recharge (August is #NationalWellnessMonth!), the upcoming Glam Bag, Glam Bag Plus, and Glam Bag X designs are the ultimate companions for your adventures.

August 2021 Glam Bag

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus

August's Glam Bag can go with almost any outfit you wear on your travels. Ipsy explains the design inspiration this way:

August's design was inspired by the outdoor travel adventure and 2021’s pre-fall fashion show with natural colors and animal textures,” explains Wong. The neutral cream color and faux reptile texture give the August Glam Bag an understated-yet-wild vibe that will complement just about any outfit. We’re totally envisioning this with lived-in denim, white tees, and strappy sandals.

The Glam Bag Plus for August is a vibrant, roomy drawstring pouch that is versatile enough for the summer and autumn. Ipsy says:

Ultra soft microfiber, rich mossy green hues with pops of lime, faux lizard texture—the August Glam Bag Plus pouch is what dreams are made of for transitional wardrobes. “The colors and textures of the bags are designed to be both fashionable and wearable around the summer and early fall,” says Wong.

Ipsy August Glam Bag X Halsey

This month's Glam Bag X has been curated by pop star Halsey. Wong says she can't stop touching it, and here's why:

The new design features a faux suede exterior, unique lizard-like texture, silver hardware, and a vibrant green lining that contrasts the soft cocoa exterior.

Was I supposed to get the brown bag with my Glam Bag-X? I didn’t get one! I got this to give as a gift. I also wasn’t aware they’re charging me every month for X-bag?? Why is this if I’m paying $55 for the bag? I’m not really a fan of the drawstring bags either. I’ve been a member since Ipsy’s inception and I think they do a pretty good job of not repeating products.

You may have opted for an item instead of the bag during choice.

I was able to customize my bag. The Halsey picks were just ok. I got elemis scrub, Murad skin soother and a leave in conditioner from a unheard of brand . Pretty sure this is my last sub to ipsy, mostly because I just don’t need or want a lot of the choices.

I am unable to customize my bag. Are there others that can’t do it

Completely confused on why I’m getting extra stuff a Glam Bag ex when originally I should only be getting the Epsie bag so I’m being charged for two extra things when originally I just wanted the Epsie make up bag why did this happen how and why did this happen

Therese

Does anyone know when choice for X is? Thank you ❤️‍🔥

I am really not a fan of Wong’s design sensibilities *at all*. I don’t know what happened this year but I’ve suspended my subscription 3 or 4 times already because the bag designs were so juvenile or ugly. This is one of the really ugly ones.

I actually kinda like the off white Glam bag clutch, the other ones not so much.

I love these bags! Especially the Glam bag X. I was sick of tacky “fun” bags tbh. It looks like Halsey did a great job. I’ll probably even listen to her new album since Trent Reznor is producing it. Much better taste all around.

I am new to Ipsy, hoping to receive my very first Plus bag any day now.. In my own personal opinion, I love the August plus bag!! Cannot wait to get it!! Will be using it for toiletries for my upcoming trip for sure. ♡

The basic bag isn’t too bad. I hate clutches (always afraid I’ll lose them), but if I had to go in public with it I wouldn’t cringe.

The Plus bag is just awful. I was planning on canceling after I get my July bag anyways and this just confirms it.

Laura

….meh. Been meaning to pause and I think I definitely will

I wish they would do FUN bags. The whole reason I joined was for that cute ticket bag they did a while back.

Even when they have prints or whatever on the bags these days, they’re just that—prints on the bags. Nothing fun or unique.

Laura, that cute ticket bag was released in 2017, the same year Michelle Pham, the most popular founder, left. That was also the year the clear ice cream bag and Gudetama Over Easy bag were sent. Those days are gone!

You are so right, Sharon. Things have never been the same.

Liina

I like the look of this bag, but I also would love to see more fun bags.I hope they do a mix of fun and beautiful so we’re all happy.

With just the current comments above you can tell how diverse people, women are! One might like certain style while others dont.

To each their own.

Erin

Agreed!! To me, the bag is not what’s important. I just want the goods!! However, I do like the August Plus bag.. Excited!!

Kelly

Yuck

I just want to know what’s in them before I decide about skipping or not. That beige bag isn’t THAT bad…a little 80’s looking, but not awful

Joyce

I hate the bags. Such a disappointment

Reply ButtonReply

Yolanda

These would all be fine without the damn scales lol.

So Shrek is designing makeup bags now?

DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THE REFRESHMENTS!!! I cancelled my trial on 06/06/2021. I tried to re-cancel this afternoon (approximately 12 hours AFTER Ipsy billed me because I didn’t understand why I was billed after I had cancelled my original subscription). Why did Ipsy bill me today 07/01/2021 at 07:39 AM ET? On top of that, Ipsy billed me for something that I NEVER USE. Ipsy billed me 12 hours before I accidentally reactivated my subscription when I was trying to make sure it was definitely cancelled. Ipsy keeps saying that I was billed because I reactivated my subscription…12 hours BEFORE I went into my account to find out what the F!!! was going on.
FYI: This all started because I thought I’d try their wipes for free. DO NOT GET SUCKED INTO THEIR TRAP!!! Honestly, this is such a scam, and their wipes were not worth being free (they sucked). Thay will not acknowledge that they billed me for a subscription that was already cancelled???

Me TOO!! I’ve Tried to also cancel they have sent me more!!! I’m aggravated too

The worst part of refreshments is that they won’t sell micellar water and reusable cotton rounds (for the Earth) and they perpetuate the discredited fear of aluminum salts in their deodorants. Refreshments both help you pollute more than is needed and stink all summer. Why not a body wash with a light AHA for skin problems? The stuff they sell is so basic and not even environmental that it’s a waste. I liked being able to not worry about buying wipes every month, but I really didn’t want wipes, I wanted micellar water! I want antiperspirant that actually works in humid summers!

They are making it easy to pollute and stink. Not good for business, I quit them.

The packaging is nice and things smell nice and not too strong but they don’t sell anything I want. The razors would probably be fine if I haven’t been a member of the original razor of the month club for literally years. I quit all their products. If I use body lotion I need it with a light exfoliant. None of these things are strange requests.

I *want* someone to sell me stuff I use on subscription. They don’t want my money or the money of people who want environmental or effective products.

Laura

Also is it just me, or did the wipes smell like sawdust?

Reply ButtonReply

Kelly

Ipsy customer service is less than stellar. Have had to deal with them FOUR times in two months. Not kidding.

Reply ButtonReply

Amy

Nope nope nope. Hate faux snakeskin it always looks and feels so cheap, even more so than usual fake leather or vinyl.

Reply ButtonReply

Betty

I couldn’t agree with you more! It’s overdone, outdated and just in poor taste.

Reply ButtonReply

Amy

Repulsive. Faux animal skin/animal prints are always so tacky. At least it’s not zebra or hot pink leopard but still bleh

Croc or snakeskin embossed plastic is one of those materials that I can’t stand to touch either. I prefer real leather or fabric. Plain pleather or vinyl is fine from ipsy but I would never buy it, but this is the first ipsy bag that I would actively skip the month because of. Printed scales just ain’t it.

Reply ButtonReply

Terri

Other than tortoise shell, I do not like any animal prints at all. These bags make me glad I am getting the X and able to opt out on my bag!

Reply ButtonReply

Laura

I mean. Hot pink leopard would have at least been fun. Maybe a neat Lisa Frank vibe?

Nope. Plastic snakeskin…

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

Finally! Gorgeous colors and classy design without the ridiculous cartoon prints.

Reply ButtonReply

Marion

Like the base & the Plus, haaaaate the X, so I’m glad that’s voluntary. 😂

Reply ButtonReply

Wendy

Classic and stylish, love the bag designs, want them all!

Reply ButtonReply

Hallie

I like them too! X looks tempting
