Boxwalla Beauty Box June 2021 Review
I saw the spoilers for this box right when they first went up, and I was literally so excited!!! Of course, with that sort of excitement comes box shipping delays and ours arrived much later than is standard for our Boxwalla Beauty Box. That being said, this was totally worth the wait.
Here is our info card:
Let’s peek inside!
Power Vitamin C Cleansing Balm, 50 mL – Retail Value $45.00
Our first item is a totally dreamy cleansing balm. I really enjoy cleansers that are outside of your normal cream and gel sort of texture, and balms have a special place in my heart because you can apply them to a dry face, massage to your heart’s content, and even leave them in place for a little before you rinse. This one is a sexy deep red shade and smells like tart berries and wine. It also arrived with a solid metal scoop that was literally so cute and precious. It takes just a little bit to warm between your palms and massage into your skin. The slip from all the oils is perfect for massage and the formula is gentle enough to leave on as a sort of flash mask before you wash off. In typical Lovinah fashion, the ingredient list is magnificent. It has oils from cloudberry, black currant, lingonberry (and even more!) paired with a stable vitamin C. The oils moisturize the face while also attaching themselves to oil, dirt, and makeup and detaching it from your face without stripping your moisture barrier. And the antioxidants inside here are off the charts, meaning in addition to silky smooth skin you also have extra protection from free radicals that cause aging.
Blue Butterfly Stem Cell Hydration Mask, 50 mL – Retail Value $85.00
I mean…. of course the first thing you notice about this mask is that insane bright blue shade. It is unlike any other masks I have ever tried! This blue goo has a scent that is hard to place. My mom called it “Flinstones Vitamins” but I don’t get that at all from this mask. It isn’t a bad scent (I actually quite like it) it is just odd. In a good way. Anyway, this texture is on the thicker side and it does take a bit to get coverage on your face. If you want to extend the life of this mask, I recommend adding a little water to a dollop in a bowl then whisking it into a slightly thinner mask and applying it with a brush. You will get all the benefits but use less. In terms of ingredients, again, this list is incredible. Moisturizing mushroom extracts, cica, ferments, hyaluronic acid, and countless other goodies come together to create a mask that is soothing, refreshing, nourishing, and hydrating. I took this home to let my mom try it (it is her favorite color!) and we were both also super pleased that even with the bright blue color, there were zero staining issues. I honestly can’t imagine anyone not falling in love with this mask.
Goddess Glow Shimmering Body Oil, 30 mL – Retail Value $30.00
The first two items in this box would be hard to compare to, but this glowing golden body oil does a good job. Some of you know that I only use oils on my legs because lotions/creams always give me red bumps! While I have no clue why this happens and I haven’t been able to tie it to a specific ingredient, I am quite happy to be a body oil enthusiast. This formula is a blend of oils from jojoba, rice bran, argan, sesame, moringa, and shea. And yes, it is as luxurious as it sounds. Floating inside is a subtle amount of ethically sourced gold mica that adds just a hint of shimmer to my skin and doesn’t look glittery at all. The scent is basically summer perfection, smelling of clean skin, vanilla, sunshine, and burnt sugar.
Verdict: This Boxwalla Beauty box had a total value of $160 and was full of beautiful color. Lovinah is such a fun brand and always delivers a boost to my skin as well as my mood. It is really difficult to not smile when massaging on a red balm or painting your face with a blue mask! The way these products left my skin feeling was also a treat. It felt clean and calm, but also super nourished and cared for. This was a Boxwalla to remember for sure!
