Everyone knows Sephora is a beauty store where you can find almost anything and everything related to makeup, skincare, body care, haircare, and selfcare, but did you know they also frequently release curated limited edition sets? They recently released the POP Beauty Zone box, and it only cost $12! Of course, I couldn't resist the urge to grab one.

FYI – this kit is still available for purchase!

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

About this Sephora Kit

Sephora Favorites: POP Beauty Zone Beauty Box Review

Here is the info sheet for the box.

We also received a sheet of stickers, which I found rather delightful (I love stickers!)

HUDA BEAUTY Silk Lip Balm in Blush, 0.06 oz – Estimated Value $12.60 (buy the 0.1 version for $21.00)

This is a pricy lip balm, but I really enjoy it (I’ve received it in a previous box). It hydrates my lips while also adding a lot of shine, and it is incredibly comfortable to wear – no stickiness here. The shade Blush is described as a “universal pink” to flatter every skin tone, but I actually didn’t notice much of a pink color. On me, this was essentially clear, but I was still happy with how my lips looked (and how they felt!).

Wishful Yo Glow Facial Enzyme Scrub, 20 ml - Estimated Value $10.50 (buy the 40 ml version for $21.00)

I would expect a product that has “scrub” in the name to be, well, scrubby, but that isn’t so much the case here. It’s not really abrasive in texture and performs the way a peeling gel would. You apply it to dry skin and rub in gentle circles and the formula will ball up under your fingers. This balling up effect isn’t the actual exfoliation – that comes from the chemical exfoliants in the formula, like papaya and pineapple enzymes, alpha hydroxy acids (lactic and glycolic) along with beta hydroxy acids (salicylic). This was a gentle exfoliating experience for my skin, but any time I exfoliate I always like to make sure I follow up with a sheet mask to make sure my sensitive skin stays happy.

Shani Darden Skin Care Retinol Reform, 5 ml - Estimated Value $15.00 (buy the 10 ml version for $30.00)

Retinol is a product you don’t really see results from until 6-8 weeks of consistent use, so this sample feels a little small. I do appreciate that this is a Shani Darden product, though- the brand has been really trendy on Instagram lately, and I have heard great things about their product offering. The formula has 2.2% encapsulated retinol (the most gentle form of retinol!), and it’s paired with 2% lactic acid to exfoliate as well as apple fruit extract. I really like the ingredients list for this- some interesting standouts include plankton extract, probiotics, and phospholipids. I use facial oils on the nights I use retinol to combat any dryness, and that worked well with this sample (and I didn't notice any increased irritation or sensitivity, either).

Murad  Acne Control Clarifying Cleanser, 15 ml - Estimated Value $3.00 (buy the 60 ml version for $12.00)

I was pleasantly surprised by this cleanser- I know Murad is a respectable brand, but I’m still impressed they managed to make a clarifying cleanser (designed for normal to oily skin) not feel too stripping or drying on my dry skin. This has a gel texture, two types of salicylic acid (one is encapsulated so it is treating bacteria over time, and the other one goes to work right away), amino acids, and green tea. It has a slightly medicinal scent from the menthol, which also gave this cleanser an enjoyable cooling sensation. All in all, I really enjoyed this- and I find the tiny squeeze tube to be charming.

dpHUE Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Masque, 2 oz - Estimated Value $9.33 (buy the 9 oz version for $42.00)

I am really impressed with the size of this sample for a $12 box! I’ll get plenty of use out of this tube of hair mask, and I really liked how it made my hair look and feel after one use. Since my hair is curly, I can usually tell before I even get out of the shower if a hair mask worked for me (my curls will usually start springing up once the conditioner is rinsed away). This wasn’t too heavy while still being really hydrating, and I really liked the scent- it didn’t smell like apple cider vinegar; it kind of reminded me of men’s cologne? I’ll be honest- I’m really tempted to buy another one of these sets just for another tube of this hair mask!

CLEAN RESERVE Reserve Acqua Neroli, 3 ml - Estimated Value $8.40 (buy the 10 ml version for $28.00)

I have enjoyed every fragrance from Clean Reserve I have tried, but this one was extra lovely- I wouldn’t be mad if I had a full-size bottle on my vanity. This has notes of mandarin, neroli, and amber, and it’s a unisex fragrance that I would happily wear myself or spritz onto my boyfriend before we went to dinner. This lasted for several hours on me, and the tiny rollerball is the perfect size to throw into my purse or a travel makeup bag.

The Wrap Up:

The Verdict: Honestly, it's hard for me to resist the urge to grab any Sephora Favorites set that the company releases, but it really feels like their sets lately have been top-notch. I loved this one, and I am very, very close to grabbing a second box. While I love the Sephora Favorites sets that have full-size products, I also love that Sephora released an affordable box with good quality products inside- I can see why these items are buzz-worthy. Value-wise, everything adds up to $58.83, which is well over the promised $49 value and a great deal for the $12 box cost.

Can you still get this box if you order today? Yes, this set is still available for purchase!

Value Breakdown: This kit costs $12 and has a value of $58.83. That means you're paying approximately the following for each item:

  • Huda Beauty: $2.57
  • Wishful: $2.14
  • Shani Darden: $3.06
  • Murad: $0.61
  • dpHUE: $1.90
  • Clean Reserve: $1.71

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

Great tip on using sheet mask after exfoliating and face oil after retinol!!! I guess I can use sheet masks after using charcoal/mud mask which can be drying too.

Yes! Best favorite box yet! The scent wasn’t a hit for me though. I love deeper scents, but this one was kind of soapy/soda water/citrus smelling on me.

I wasn’t feeling this box when it was announced, but your review is making me want it!

The Huda lip was like 50% of why I wanted this box, & I’m not disappointed at all! It feels so nice, lasts a long time, & smells a little bit like angelfood cake (other Huda lip products have been too strongly scented for me).

The Clean Reserve is really good, too. I love the size. My skin mostly picks up the floral notes with just a hint of undertones.
