May 2021 So Susan Color Curate Review

This month came with a product information card. Let’s dig into the products!

So Susan Limited-Edition Makeup Bag, May 2021 – Retail Value $12.00 (currently out of stock)

This month’s bag says “Never Be Afraid. Have Faith. Believe.” I am in love with the watercolor print on this bag, but the quote is just ok for me. I wish that these didn’t always have a quote, the prints are always so lovely that I think they can get lost with the addition of the quote, but these are always really nice quality and great for storing products.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Biosphere Vegan Eyeshadow Palette in Woodland – Retail Value $38.00

Everyone single one of these colors is my jam! I am so into neutral tones that are still bold with that hint of orange or brown. Each tone is earthy with either a matte or shimmer finish. Each shade is made with yarrow flower and acacia gum to give it a creamy finish that is highly pigmented. It is also vegan, talc-free, paraben-free, and phthalate-free. Each shade goes on really well with hardly any fallout. The shades seem to blend nicely together so you can layer and add for a day to night vibe as well. This is going to quickly become my go-to palette, especially in the summer.

Trifle Cosmetics Sugar Bunny Heavingly Lip Scrub in Watermelon, 10 mL – Retail Value $9.00

I wear lipstick every day and have found that sometimes they need that little extra exfoliation especially when I am going to wear matte lipstick. These scrubs really are so handy to have especially in the summer when my lips are so dry. This has a fruity taste making it enjoyable when you are rubbing it into your lips to get that extra exfoliation. This blend is made with vanilla, almond oil, and strawberry extract. While this isn’t anything too fancy, it is a great product to have on hand year-round.

Trifle Cosmetics Matte Decadence Multipurpose Crayon For Lips & Cheeks – Retail Value $9.00

This crayon has a matte finish that you can use on your lips or cheeks. I will say that I had a hard time applying this to my cheeks, it felt awkward and didn’t blend well. It applied nicely to my lips though! I used it as a liner and then filled it in, but I think I will be using it more as a liner along with my favorite pink lipstick. The crayon is made with sugar maple and sugar cane extracts to give it a yummy taste and smell. This is such a fun color to have as we enter into warm weather days, perfect for me to wear on light makeup days at the pool when I still want a little lip or for a date night look when I can finally start going on dates with my hubby again!

So Susan Cosmetics Statement Skin Highlighting Crayon in Candlelight – Retail Value $20.00

This highlighter is made with organic chia seed to help keep skin softly hydrated and silk peptide to promote skin suppleness and elasticity. You can use this crayon on your eyes, lips, cheeks, forehead, brow bone, and nose to give your skin a luminous glow. This is a great illuminator to add texture and glow to dull skin. I don’t know if my crayon melted a bit but the tip broke off from the holder and dented a bit when I pushed it back in so it is a bit flimsy now. I can still use it though I just have to be a bit careful. I have been using it to dab on my cheekbones and add some highlights there which I am really loving! I am going to use this more in the summer when I have a healthy glow and I am using way less foundation so that I can have that dewy skin while still having that little bit of glow.

Verdict: This month’s So Susan Color Curate was a hit and gave me warm weather vibes that I really needed right now. I love earthy eyeshadows so this palette is going to get a lot of wear from me. The shades are different enough from each other while still being buildable together. The lip crayon is going to make a great lip pencil to match my favorite pink lipsticks and will be great to use as a full lip as well. The highlight crayon is a fun and different way for me to add a light glow to my face when I need it. This month has a value of $88.00 which is always an incredible deal for a $20.95 bag. This month felt complete and full of really quality products that I know I will use a ton. This really is a beauty lovers subscription that has shown me so many new brands and products that I never knew I needed!

  1. I also wish the bags didn’t have words, because they’re so charming and pretty otherwise. Such a nice box at a great price!
