We have all the latest spoilers for the Summer 2021 Alltrue — formerly CAUSEBOX — box.

For the fourth spoiler, annual subscribers get their pick between the Brand With A Heart OMG Leave-in Conditioner Blend or WAY OF WILL Brightening Face Serum.

Take your tresses on a tropical vacation without leaving home!

A choice product alongside the @wayofwillshop Brightening Face Serum, nature and science have teamed up to tame your mane with this vegan and cruelty free leave-in conditioner 🌺 Lather it in and let the natural botanicals work their magic — your hair will be silky smooth and frizz free in no time flat. Comb this conditioner onto wet or dry hair and style as usual, then just wait to see the results.

Brand with a Heart has their own mega-blend cocktail they use in their products called M+. This blend includes 4 ingredients, each selected to care for your hair. First up is the antioxidant-packed Maqui Berry. Maqui Berry is kind of like acai’s less famous big sister. While less popular, it actually includes over 5 times as many antioxidants as acai. In this leave-in conditioner, Maqui Berry helps you turn your hair’s volume up. Next up is the Bamboo Extract which soothes your scalp and strengthens each strand. Then there’s their plant-based protein, which helps penetrate the hair to protect it from those pesky environmental aggressors. Last but certainly not least, their superfood blend, including coffee, goji, green tea, and more, smoothes, strengthens, and adds shine.

Brand with a Heart believes that great hair starts with the ingredients that fuel it from the inside. They apply the principle, “you get what you give”, to all aspects of life — including our beauty regimens. They take the best of what nature has to offer, blend it with science, and use it to protect hair from environmental, chemical, and styling stressors.

A choice product alongside the @brandwithaheart OMG Leave-in Conditioner Blend, this sunshine-in-a-bottle is Alltrue-approved, locally made in Toronto, Canada, and naturally packed with vegan and cruelty free ingredients that protect and brighten your skin.

With marula, black currant, and carrot seed oil, antioxidant Vitamin C shines in this serum. Vitamin C helps protect your skin from the sun and free radicals. It also brightens, evens out skin tone, and boosts collagen production (aka reduces wrinkles). But Vitamin C isn’t the only key ingredient in the Way of Will serum — it also includes Vitamin A, another skincare staple! Vitamin A (also known as retinol) is recommended for just about any skincare ailment, from acne to aging. It helps put collagen production in turbodrive, reduces hyperpigmentation, and increases cell production, giving you a glowing, rejuvenated, dewy look.

If you’ve been a member for a while, you might recognize it: it was a Fall 2020 favorite! We brought it back as a choice product so new members can experience it and returning members can stock up!

Last time, we unveiled that annual subscribers could choose between a set of Bamboozle 5-Piece Nesting Bowls, a MANNA Hydration Nautical Cooler Tote or an Enchante Home Oversized Roundie Towel as the  second Summer 2021 choice item.

For their third item, annual subscribers may choose between COSMEDIX Skin Thirst Moisturizing Hyaluronic Acid Cream and COSMEDIX Bakuchiol Complete Plant-Based Retinol Alternative Serum.

We previously revealed the Summer 2021 box’s first spoiler: a choice between a Solo Stone Bracelet by Ettika or a Traveling Cutlery Set by Small Hours.

We also know that the designer of the Summer 2021 Alltrue box is illustrator Jordan Amy Lee.

This quarterly subscription box, which features brands and items dedicated to doing good all over the world, recently changed its name “because we needed a name that better represented our mission: to build a community that brings truth, kindness, and goodness to everything we do,” the company said in a statement on their website.

Alltrue co-founder and CEO Matt Richardson added, “The evolution to Alltrue is a natural step that will allow us to deliver on our ultimate vision — to create a 360° socially-conscious lifestyle membership that sits at the intersection of commerce, content, and community. With the rebrand and expansion of our membership, we aim to make conscious consumption and intentional living even more accessible and affordable. We are investing heavily in content and community features, strengthening our positioning as a source of truth and solidarity as we collectively adapt to more socially and environmentally responsible lifestyles.”

Editor's Note, 5/24/21: The below offer has ended.

There’s also a new offer to accompany the switch: New subscribers can receive an intro box for $25.

Haven’t got my email yet for Sumer box choices.

There’s SO many things in addons I would actually want. Most of this box I am probably going to resell.

Much of what you’re seeing in the way of selections are the result of COVID work stoppages.

The regular types of goods we are used to seeing in our boxes just weren’t getting made last year, therefore they aren’t available to buy.

The reason that we’re seeing so many beauty products is that they didn’t get bought last year so everyone has surpluses they are trying to get rid of, and offering companies great deals to take them off their hands.

Retail buyers are having the same problems, haven’t you noticed the slim selections in stores? Most of what is being sold now was made before the pandemic.

Unfortunately supply chains are still broken. From what I’m hearing it will be awhile before they come back strong so this may just be the best they could do.

Agree. I just ignore the negative comments.

Actually TB, it was $200. And to some people that is a lot of money for items you don’t want, that are often defective, months late, and don’t support a cause. Most of us would gladly stop complaing if we could get the remaing value back.

Btw, I have an MBA and significant operations experience. Yep, COVID has caused some problems. But instead of working those problems, the company has changed their mission and spent time and money on what most people agree is a stupid and poorly executed rebranding campaign. That is why we karens are complaing 😊

Amen!

I’ve stopped trying to say COVID is to blame for these reasons because people come back with, “It’s been over a year since Covid shut things down, ‘they’ should have worked around it by now.”

Thank you for posting this, Miz T!

Really thoughtful and empathetic response. These subscription-box comments get so intensely Karen-level negative over $50. Like grown adults acting like brats. Just pause your subscription, skip the box, and move on. Consider why things might be hard on this company, its suppliers, and shipping companies after over a year of a global pandemic.

I enjoyed the last box a lot! Really useful. But I’ll skip this one and see what they have next time. I’ll do FFF this time around since the choices are more useful to me. Most of the time I’ll do one or the other. Also, boxycharm is so good that I canceled after 3 months because I needed to stop getting so much useful stuff for a while lmao. Just jump around what fits best with you that season!

Another Amen to TB!

Melinda

There are so many negative comments here that I thought I’d put forth a positive one. I am excited to try this new Alltrue box. The way I see it is that I just paid $200 for four boxes of surprises, which is kind of exciting to me. I’m excited that I can even customize them! I know the bracelet may be cheap but I kind of like it. The bowls look cool too. The serum and hair leave-in look interesting. I’m excited to see what the other items will be! 🙂

Danniell

Same! I just renewed my subscription for the year and to me, it’s worth it just to have something curated and fun every season. I also subscribe to FFF so I get to have the joy of two boxes each season. I miss PopSugar terribly but whatever they’re all fun and keep me stocked up on gifts should I need to grab something quickly.

You didn’t get the first box “free” for going annual/paying up front?

Reply ButtonReply

Melinda

No, that offer had expired I was told. MSA updated their website to reflect the change.

Jessica Lerman

What are they doing??? The towel and tote is way off their normal aesthetic, cheap looking in my opinion. Two categories have cosmetic only choices (which I think everyone is burnt out on). I thought the rebrand was to be more impactful of their mission, what happened to artisan made, sustainable or natural materials? Also I thought they’d be more transparent, but they are lying stating the serum was brought back based on popularity when it wasn’t even a choice item! Does not seem “all true”! Like others I am afraid to skip the box cause it seems they are on a path to going out of business.

AnnaMarie

Does anyone know when the market will open? I’m going to most likely skip but I want to get some stuff from the market… from what I can remember it opened before the cancel/ skip timeline & I’ll be bummed if the market is only accessible after the deadline to cancel is! Which with all their changes it wouldn’t surprise me lol

Reply ButtonReply

Izzie

Scratch that! Sorry for the confusion, but it appears live now when you log into your account.

Reply ButtonReply

AnnaMarie

I logged on earlier in the day yesterday & couldn’t access it & then after I read your comment I logged on & I could! Thanks for your help though!

Izzie

I tried to post the link but it’s not going through. I don’t know how to sign up for early access, but if you google “Reddi t causebox early market access” you will find a thread where somebody posted a link to the market. Good luck!

Reply ButtonReply

Izzie

Market will open on May 28. Early access for text insiders list is on May 26 (today).

Reply ButtonReply

AnnaMarie

Thank you! How do you get into text insiders list?

Sarah

This is the second box in a row (I think? Maybe it’s been more) with a repeat item from one of their recent boxes. Did they order too many? Is this old product that’s been sitting in a warehouse for months? It’s like they aren’t even trying anymore. My annual sub ended with the last box and I am so glad to be done with them.

Reply ButtonReply

Carolyn

What happened to the meaning behind Causebox? The offerings were supposed to be represented by artists of third world counties and to generate funds for communities in need. Now just looks like any other box with humdrum products. Sorry, not impressed with the transition.

Reply ButtonReply

Meghan

I was told the $149 offer for the year was not active.

Reply ButtonReply

Saucie

My main hesitation in skipping is that this is the first box with their new name (which I can’t unsee Allure now, they should have at least used a very different font) so this would normally be the one to convince you “wow, this change is great”…so what are the future boxes going to look like?

Reply ButtonReply

BostKim

Aaand… there goes any chance of me starting up my sub again. I’m so done with face serums and hair products that I won’t use. I know it’s really difficult to be unique year after year, but another towel, another tote, another bracelet that won’t fit on my ‘large boned’ wrist… sigh.

I do like the bowls, but I’ll just buy them if I really want them and save myself the cost of the yearly subscription I’d have to get so I could choose them as my option.

Reply ButtonReply

Didds

That serum smells terrible to me and I threw it away.

The towel and the cooler are the only items that interest me at all.

I cancelled.

Reply ButtonReply

Tat

Avoid the serum. Looks like the label was made in kinegarden art class. Plus smell.

Reply ButtonReply

Snow

I am seriously not digging that Alltrue name. Someone said it reminds them of Allstate and now that’s all I see. Causebox was a million times better.

Reply ButtonReply

Milena

I was looking forward to this box – liked the bowls & was hoping for the rest to be, well, pretty much anything other than skincare. I already have specific subscriptions for that. & I’m transitioning to wearing my naturally curly hair that way so the hair item is useless to me. A lot of people are complaining on their IG about too much skincare so I really hope they listen & future boxes give more options.

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

Box looks like it was hijacked by FabFitFun, yikes

Reply ButtonReply

Carrie

FFF was so much better than this this season– and at least you get choices.

Reply ButtonReply

Anne

Does anyone know when the deadline for skipping is? I’m on the fence till I see another spoiler… I actually like the bracelet, the bowls are useful, and bakuchiol agrees with my skin. But there’s nothing I’m super excited about!

Reply ButtonReply

Milena

They said you could skip before June 1.

Reply ButtonReply

Susan

How do you skip; I had been an of/on one box at a time subscriber and then just signed up for the annual when they did the free box…. but this box is not looking great.

kim

This is junk, honestly if you want to clutter your home this is the box for you. It’s like they don’t even try. I can go in blindfolded at tjmaxx and curate a better box.

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda Dee

That sounds really fun! Have a friend and take turns guiding each other through the different sections, close eyes, turn around and pick an item. That is if you have friends that trust you… I think I’ll have to sit this one out or make a new friend who doesn’t know better hehe

Reply ButtonReply

Teresa

Ha ha, I think you may have a great model. That could be a really fun box.

Reply ButtonReply

Molly

Are they up to date on shipping now?

Reply ButtonReply

Erika

Glad I cancelled. Wouldn’t even be able to give this stuff away.

Reply ButtonReply

Tea

I have 2 annual subscriptions I’ve already canceled that don’t run out until Fall because I already skipped Winter on both. I really like the towel and the cooler, but the rest of this is going to be such a chore to pick. Categories 3 and 4 are “pick the least terrible option”, and they’re all pretty bad. I have other subs for beauty options and I’ve never liked the ones I’ve gotten in Causebox. I really don’t want another of those Way of Will serums, but the leave-in isn’t something I’d use either. Blah.

Reply ButtonReply

Alison

I just emailed them to skip the summer box- what a disappointment. Hopefully Fall will be better.

Reply ButtonReply

K Dodds

How do you skip??? Is it the “deactivate” button?

Reply ButtonReply

Sherri

You have to email them. There is information in the support section on how to skip (I think they refer to it as “pausing.”

Reply ButtonReply

Kim

I’m 200000% glad I didnt renew.

Reply ButtonReply

Amy

Just went back through my photos from past boxes and this box has gone so downhill. How could the same people who gave us the blue green bowls, lanterns, La Leur candles, Feya diffusers, and Swell bottles give us this stuff that looks like it came from a Walmart clearance section? (And I love me a Walmart clearance section, but not for $50!). It’s like they sent the buyers to TJ Maxx and said “look for endcaps with clearance items.” Sigh.

Reply ButtonReply

Snow

The end caps full of clearance items was funny. I’m always on the prowl for those things at Target and Walmart. I have found some great stuff super cheap!

Reply ButtonReply

May

This box is…generic. It’s just like tj maxx in a box. If they are trying to be FFF they should just work on their logistics. At least when they had a “cause” you could let the awful logistics and shipping times slide… if this is just an fff knock off now, they better stop things up

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

The towel is from a nice brand, but the Turkish towels on their website are a bit more luxe being 100% cotton and with nicer fringes.

However, Alltrue (not a fan of the rebrand ..) does get kudos for actually lowering the claimed RV accordingly and not pretending it’s the same as on a $100 towel.
