Fortune Cookie Soap Limited Edition 'Dance & Sing' Box Review
Here is the info sheet for the box will full scent descriptions.
FCS Hair We Go! Argan Hair Shine Serum
I love using oils in my curly hair, so I’m always happy to see more. This one does have silicones, which I try to stay away from, but this frosting-scented hair serum truly makes my hair smell like a dessert.
FCS Hug Time! OCD Hand Sanitizer
As I went through this box so many different things made me smile, and the name of this hand sanitizer is one of them. The initial scent I get from this is the Valencia orange, and as the germ-killing alcohol evaporates away the floral notes from the jasmine and pink mimosa becomes more prominent. This is a really lovely scent, and one I would enjoy in more products. If you’re wondering why their hand sanitizer is named OCD, you can read more about it here.
FCS Lady Glittersparkles Body Wash
I am so tickled by this sparkly body wash- it is aptly named and I love it. While the sparkles brought me joy, the scent on this body wash wasn’t my favorite- the scent notes list apricot, pink peonies, and a hint of praline, but to my nose it’s just a nondescript soapy scent. This body wash will still be used, though- sometimes I just want to be covered in glitter, and this can help me out with that.
FCS Oh Snap! Lip Mask
I was so excited to try this lip mask I stole a dab of it before I even have it photographed for review. I’m glad I did! It’s definitely a rich lip mask that would be great to apply at night before bed, and I love that the first ingredient is lanolin. The smell is mostly vanilla batter with a touch of cream and fruit, and it’s pleasant without being overpowering considering it’s sitting right under my nose.
FCS The Bright Side Mineral Face Mask
This face mask has multiple minerals inside (if you couldn’t tell by the name) like magnesium, zinc, and copper. I’m not too sure the skincare benefits those minerals provide, but this was a face mask I actually didn’t try because the scent notes are mandarin, peach, and mango. I’ve actually developed a mango allergy over the past year, and the primary reaction I get is a rash on my face after being exposed to it. While I didn’t see mango on the ingredients list (it must be in the “fragrance”), I didn’t want to risk it since putting something with mango directly on my face didn’t seem like a good idea. In the summer I am more prone to acne on my chest, however, so I will put this aside for then when I can use it on heartier skin.
FCS Cupcakes & Rainbows Whipped Cream
This body cream is a delight, and it actually triggered some nostalgia for me. I don’t know if it was the pastel yellow and pink colors of the lotion, or the specific scent combination of berries, apricot, sugar, almond cream, and vanilla macarons, but this body cream smells just like the go-gurt I ate as a kid. Whatever it is, using this lotion reminds me of the squeezable yogurt I ate as a kid, and I’ve really been enjoying this. Plus, the formula has jojoba oil, shea butter, aloe, and hydrolyzed silk, and my skin soaks it right up and is left silky smooth.
FCS Glitter Farts Hair & Body Shimmer Mist
There is no shortage of sparkle in this box and you won’t find me complaining. The scent has notes of blue agave, pear, and coconut blossoms with cantaloupe, berry, and sugarcane. It’s a sweet scent that isn’t overpowering, and I like that this mist can be used in both my hair and body. Plus, the formula has a hint of hydration thanks to the glycerin and cucumber extract. This would be really pretty with bare shoulders and sun dresses as the weather continues to warm up, and it leaves me smelling nice, too.
FCS Party Pooper Toilet Spray
I love sprays like these for when I have to share my bathroom- people just don’t need to know what went on in there before they walked in. Spraying this grape, plum, orange, berry, pineapple, and apple spray into the toilet before doing my business creates a film on the oil that keeps less pleasant smells from escaping. I can’t pick up on the nuances other than it smelling fruity, but I still like it!
FCS True Colors Bath Bomb
I love when a box has a full-size bath bomb! This one was scented with notes of morning dew and citrus zest with sandalwood and cotton candy, and I enjoyed the pastel pink color and the hint of duo chrome shimmer.
FCS Perfect Harmony Whipped Soap
This texture is LUSH. I think my jaw literally dropped when I opened this jar. Along with being beautiful, it smells great with notes of Prosecco, peach melba, waterfruit, sheered magnolia, and sugared musk. I haven’t made it to the blue layer of this soap, but I’m definitely making headway. Along with getting me clean, I appreciate that this isn’t drying on my skin thanks to the glycerin and avocado oil.
FCS Trollstice Dual-Phase Perfume Oil
I don’t love perfume oils, but this one sure is a pretty one! The scent on this is actually a bit more sophisticated compared to the rest of the ones in the box- it has pink rose, orchid, and freesia with amber, vanilla, mango, and strawberry. This smells similar to some of the nicer perfume samples I’ve tried through the Sephora Favorite’s perfume samplers, and I’ll admit that I’m pleasantly surprised by this.
Every limited edition box comes with a non-bath and body item, and this box came with this eye mask! I love these things- I get a migraine every month or two, and I love sticking these in the freezer to have handy whenever I need the cooling sensation on my face and eyes. These masks can also be microwaved, so if you need heat therapy this can work for that as well.
The Verdict: This may in fact be my favorite FCS LE box out of all of the ones I’ve received. I loved the Trolls movie and it’s feel-good vibes, and this box captured that essence perfectly and created high quality products with lovely scents. This box felt like an extra special treat because of how long it takes to arrive- the preorder was in January, and that was so long ago that I completely forgot I was expecting this box of rainbows and smiles. FCS usually releases a second limited edition box for Halloween, and I’m already looking forward to it.
