FabKids (little sister brand to Fabletics and JustFab) is a monthly clothing subscription for boys and girls that allows you to shop in two ways - you can shop the regular store, or you can sign up for their VIP membership. VIP memberships work like this:

  • Take the FabKids quiz for your child (for multiple children you can add a kid) to note their size and style preferences.
  • Each month, FabKids releases a new collection and they will curate looks that match your child's preferences which you can view in their personalized FabShop.
  • Shop those looks at 40% off what you’d get just paying retail, or skip the month. You have to make your decision by the 5th of the month. If you do neither, the $39.95 monthly membership fee will be saved to your account as a credit, which you can put towards other outfits later.
  • As you shop, you’ll also earn points that can be applied towards future purchases.

FYI, COVID-19 Update: Stay up to date on shipping delays, updated return policies, and more right here.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

FabKids April 2021 Review

When you sign up they will ask you a few questions about your child: their name, age, clothing size, favorite weekend activity, and which outfit you prefer out of a few options. This helps to personalize your child's FabShop each month. If you have multiple kids you are shopping for, there is an option to add a kid.

We received a few promotional items this month including some samples of RX Kids bars (they were yummy!), a coupon for Hello Fresh (check out our thoughts here), and a coupon for Function of Beauty (check out Megan's review here).

FabKids Retro Moto 3-Piece Outfit - Retail Value $62.00, VIP Cost $34.95

My youngest who is obsessed with all sorts of cars and vehicles celebrated his 3rd birthday this month so I figured I would get a fun outfit for him! This retro moto shirt is so cool with all of the colors and I loved the way his face lit up when he saw it! He wanted to wear it right away! While he is in between a 3T/4T I decided to go with the XS which is actually a 4T/5T, so it's a little bit long on him, but not so much that it looks too odd on him! I loved that this outfit came with sunglasses, too because he loves to accessorize and always asks for his sunglasses before going outside. It never hurts to have an extra pair! By purchasing this as an outfit I saved about $11.90 off of the VIP cost.

Here is a closer look at the sunglasses.

The shorts that came with it are comfy and stretchy with a drawstring waistband, side pockets, and a tiny pocket on the rear. He is really in between a 3T and 4T when it comes to pants -- lengthwise he usually needs the latter, but sometimes that means they are too saggy on his little waist. I think I actually could have gotten him the 4T pants and had them fit him well by using the drawstring at the waist since these shorts run a little bit short lengthwise.

FabKids Fire Truck Tee, Size S(6/7) - Retail Value $22.00, VIP Cost $16.95

This shirt is much too big on him, but when I saw it was the last one left, I had to get it for him and it was on sale for $9.99!  The detailed fire truck is such a cool design and since it's a little big on him, that just means it will last him longer. It will be a great shirt for him to wear around the house right now since even though it's big, he can still wear it comfortably. Can you tell that he loves it?

The Verdict: This month my son had a 3rd birthday coming up so I figured I would spoil him with some new clothes from FabKids! I love that they had plenty of choices for my vehicle-loving boy and it was fun that his outfit included a pair of sunglasses, too. While the outfit was cute, the fire truck shirt was even cooler! I'm glad I was able to snag one on sale before they went out of stock for good. This purchase was definitely a bit of a splurge at $56.85 with taxes and shipping and I could certainly find items for much less at retail stores, but since I am able to take advantage of their sales, which can be pretty great, I feel like it all balances out eventually. I also think there is some value in the unique styles they have to offer!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, these items are all still available, except for the fire truck shirt.

Value Breakdown: The total retail price for these items is $84.00, but the VIP total is $51.90. That’s a VIP savings of about 38%!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!
