Box finally arrived today- 3 days after the stated arrival (that’s on FedEx, not Cheryls). We got 4 sugar, 4 choc chip, 3 butter pecan, 3 mocha latte and the rest are frosted buttercream, mostly pink but a few shamrocks and some with patterns in the frosting. We will enjoy these for sure!

Our box came last week and was quickly devoured. We mainly had a variety of frosted buttercream cookies but a couple sugar cookies and a chocolate chip cookie as well. They sent a card with a 20% coupon code, and I thought I would place another order. But alas, it doesn’t seem to work on the mystery boxes.

I ordered this because it said it contains 8 varieties of cookies. I was so excited to get them today but they’re ALL buttercream frosted butter pecan except for 2 frosted shamrocks and 1 peanut butter buckeye! My family will still enjoy them but we were looking forward to trying 8 different ones, not 3. Oh well.

Ohhhh we would have loved a box of the butter pecan. We only got one of them in both of our boxes. We mainly got buttercream frosted cut outs.

Update: I messaged them on FB saying that the cookies are delicious, but we were looking forward to trying more varieties and they responded saying they’re going to make it right. That’s great customer service and I’m happy.

Mine are due tomorrow! Fingers crossed we get a decent variety 😊

If these were all the frosted cutout cookies, I would get this in a heartbeat.

Still might get them… 🙂

I had ordered Cheryl’s cookies for years going back to the 80’s when they first started and they were THE cookies to buy and give as gifts, but their quality has gone way down hill when they partnered with all those other companies. Not a fan anymore and they charge way to much,

Amarante

I ordered cookies from them directly as it was actually cheaper.

I thought the cookies were pretty terrible. They had not much taste and the icing was just sweet.

They were the quality of cookies from a mediocre supermarket bakery.

I can get far better cookies from any bakery in my area. And there are much better mail order cookies if you need to send something to someone as a gift.

Thanks for all the recommendations Amarante!

Amarante, are there any good quality & reasonably priced brands/companies you’d recommend to send bakery goods as a gift in the mail? TIA

Amarante

I don’t know about reasonable because shipping food is so outrageously priced as compared to what it costs to buy at even a gourmet store or bakery.

You could try David’s cookies as they are delicious or Milk Bar as they have mail order as well. Check out reviews on goldbelly.com for cookies

If you are sending food to someone you could just buy some cookies at a great bakery and use a flat rate two day mail box to send for much less.

At this point my go to go to food gift is chocolates from Sees Candy. They are better than any of the fancy European chocolates I have tried and I love their lollipops which come in butterscotch, coffee, vanilla and chocolate. They are large size and last a long time so are pretty diet friendly.

Is there a charge for shipping?

I’m sold! Shipping for me was $8.99 if anyone wants to know.

My aunt used to get our whole family these cookies during the holidays – so I had to snag this box at such a bargain! Time to taste the nostalgia. My dad has needed to transition to a memory care facility over the past year, and I’m looking forward to sharing these cookies with him. Hopefully the flavor can spark some happy memories 🙂

Lenya — I am sorry that you are having to go through this with your dad. I hope the cookies bring you both some joy and you and your dad will be in my thoughts.

Can anyone share their experience with quality and customer service of Cheryls? Looked online and lots of complaints with shipping times, but wondering if anyone can speak to any other aspects. Thanks!

Thanks Mel for sharing what came in your box, that was helpful. I haven’t tried any Cheryl’s cookies before so I think I’ll give it a go with the mystery box (I’d be happy with the variety you received) and if the taste isn’t my thing (like Mari, I too will have to serve on the quality control board :), then will look into the recommendations from the comments, which is great to have as alternatives.

Thanks to everyone else as well for sharing your feedback, appreciate it!

JenJen

Thanks for posting! Reading those descriptions made me hungry, lol.

I had no issues with the 5-7 orders I placed. I’ve sent a single cookie to a few different friends as a quick hello, gift boxes of cookies to businesses I work with, and have gotten some for myself. If you sign up for their emails you’ll get inundated with great discount offers. Do not pay full price, ever!

I have gotten these in the past from HSN or QVC can’t remember. They taste like the grocery store unbranded cookies that are frosted in the bakery. Dry and a simple taste. These could be older cookies if it is a mystery box. If you are looking for moist, chewy, fresh cookies…these are not them

Amarante

I agree as I found their cookies to be mediocre. Essentially tasteless except for the overly sweet icing.

bunnygirlbrem

Interesting. I personally think they are WAY better than those bakery cookies (similar, though).

Mel

I ordered a mystery box for my mom early last month. It’s a mystery box, so you are getting past seasonal cookies — she had a couple of Christmas cookies. However, they freeze well. It arrived quickly, and she was pleased with everything. REALLY loved the frosted sugar cookies. I have a box of them arriving today or tomorrow, so I’ll follow up once I receive them.

My mom loved hers as well, so I’m sending her another box for mother’s day. She lives alone so she can have a treat and the rest will stay fresh. There were no holiday cookies at all in hers or the one I ordered for myself as quality control 😉

Anya

Thanks Mel. Is the packaging completely sealed off (not for individual cookes, but the box they’re presented in) or is it a ribbon or something else that could be opened? I was wanting to gift to a sibling and was thinking of ordering a few boxes sent to myself first and removing any holiday cookies. And were the cookies all the same size or did it have some minis that count toward the total? Thanks again.
