Boxwalla Beauty Box April 2021 Review

Here is our info card:

Let's peek inside!

TWELVE BEAUTY Intelligent Frontier Facial Oil, 30 mL - Retail Value $215.00

I absolutely adore facial oils, and this one is expensive and fascinating. This one is unique because it contains unsaponified plant oils and pollen. From what I can digest from the info card and further reading, the unsaponified parts of these oils are where the majority of the antioxidants and vitamins are stashed. They are difficult to extract which makes the process expensive and time-consuming, which is why they don't always make appearances in skincare products. The creator of this line has a PhD in Natural Formulation Technologies which explains how delightfully sciency this oil feels. In looking at the ingredient list, I am seeing a lot of goodies I love! These include but are not limited to meadowfoam seed oil, squalane, Sacha Inchi seed oil, and hyaluronic acid. This oil is also easy to love because of its texture and soft scent. It is a medium-weight sort of oil and while it didn't completely absorb, I wouldn't hesitate to wear it during the day.

TWELVE BEAUTY Nutritive Repair Emulsion, 50 mL - Retail Value $72.00

This cream is a great compliment to our facial oil. I liked using the oil first in the evening, letting it absorb, then topping off with a layer of this formula. It seemed to lock in the oil and add a creamy, soothing finish. You can also add a few drops of the oil to the cream and apply them together. The main focus of this cream is to help repair your skin's natural moisture barrier, which is really important for smooth, healthy, and happy skin. This barrier can be disturbed by many different things, like over-exfoliation, external allergens and pollutants, sun exposure, and more. The fatty lipids in this cream paired with the boost of antioxidants help to soothe and reinforce skin's natural moisture levels and strengthen that barrier. The texture here was really softening and soothing, and it absorbed fast enough for me to use it as a day or evening cream, though if you are oilier you might want to save it for the evening.

Verdict: This Boxwalla Beauty box had a total value of $287.00, which is pretty awesome for a $49.95 box. While I sometimes feel a little intimidated by the science of some skincare items, I really love reading more about them and trying them out. It's always really interesting to read about a creator who takes their passion for plants and science, and turns them into something different and special in the skincare realm. Both of the formulas this month were really lovely and boasted nice ingredient lists. The packaging was also gorgeous, which is always an added bonus! I think the weights of both items included are pretty ideal for me at this time of the year too, which makes me even more excited to enjoy them over the next few months.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I’m super excited for this box -does anyone happen to know around what time of the month these ship out?

I received an email on 4/8 from Boxwalla stating there will be a slight delay with this month’s box. Per their email, they typically ship the boxes during the 7th-10th of the month, however this month they won’t ship until the middle or end of this week. So far, I haven’t received a shipping email.

What did you think of these products? They are selling the last three boxes and i head June’s box was awesome but not much about this box.

Stephanie

The owner, Lavanya (sp?) sent an email out last week apologizing for the delay as usually they ship that week but said there was a hold up with customs and that they will ship out next week (which is this week).

I love Boxwalla but opted out of these because of the addition of limonene and linalool, which I’m allergic to. That said, they look like lovely products!
