It’s one day before the end of the month. Where are the full spoilers? This is getting ridiculous, I’ll cancel if they start waiting till it’s too late to skip before releasing full spoilers!

Toota

Seriously! It makes me want to skip because I’m on the fence about the items…..hmmmm

Jessica

I have been searching and waiting as well. I thought I was missing something.

Hello Subscription has the full spoilers for May up.😉

Julie

The vitamin C serums don’t break down rapidly until after they are opened. Once opened the average is 3 to 6 months. If they are unopened they should be good for 12 to 18 months. If they are orange or amber colored they are most likely useless as they have oxidized. I only subscribe to Allure so I don’t have a backup of as many products as others on this forum do. I tried ipsy for a couple of months and I didn’t like it.

I prefer the powder that I can mix into my serums as I don’t have to worry about shelf life but I still welcome vitamin C serums as I will use them every day. I welcome skincare as most of the makeup I have received are not colors I would use or if they are I already have multiples of almost the same thing in my cosmetics train case.

I keep mine in the fridge until i open, and this this has an opaque bottle and airless pump, so it should last a good while.

Allure emailed me another satisfaction survey for February’s box, like they recently did for January. The timing suggests they’re giving us enough time to try everything.

If you get the email, please take the time to fill it out. They’re clearly trying to make future boxes better. And if that doesn’t draw you in, you’ll be entered into a contest for doing it. 😁

Reply ButtonReply

Sue

I have never received a satisfaction survey even though I’ve been a member for a few year, good to know they are trying. Now we just need the rest of the May spoilers!

Reply ButtonReply

Shortcake

I really hate how allure trickles out spoilers now. Only 1 week left of April and we don’t know half of May. Bah!

Reply ButtonReply

Marisela

I like this month’s products so far, but why do they have to be so small?

Reply ButtonReply

Danielle

Damn with all these full sizes we get with these boxes I never have to buy serums or actives again

Reply ButtonReply

Eva

This box could be the 1 that brings me back. I love skincare and there are 3 product already that I want to try. I personally am out of Vit C so it would be a wise decision. I recently purchased some makeup items in 2 different bundles and I have another sub that is 1/2 skincare and 1/2 makeup and costs less. Yes this 1 could be it for me. I’m actually excited

Reply ButtonReply

Stephie G

Spoilers look good, but I wish Allure would chill with the Vit. C products and have more makeup.

Reply ButtonReply

Jessica

Right?? I really am getting tired of always getting vitamin c serums. Aside from the vitamin c powder we got months ago, most vitamin c serums don’t last long so it seems silly to keep sending more than we can possibly use. I wish they would send full size any other kind of serums. Also my skin doesn’t like most vitamin c serums. I bought the Sunday Riley one with the moisturizer and my skin hated it so I had to give it away. I really like Wander beauty through and they have a nice retinol night serum which I wish we were going to get instead.

Reply ButtonReply

Shea

Yes!! I came here to say the same thing! It seems like they send a vitamin c product every month! I’ve been using that vitamin c powder every single day since I got it In my box. I really like it but I haven’t even made a dent in the bottle! It will prob last all year! Its supposed to be more stable since it’s a powder which is nice. ALLURE PLEASE STOP PUTTING VITAMIN C PRODUCTS IN THE BOX EVRY MONTH!!!

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

They did just send me a survey for feedback on the February box – which is a couple months behind by now. I did like the Feb box but there were a couple places to throw in comments on overall satisfaction and point out I’ve not been crazy about the overalll curation since the price jump.

Jessamin

I was going to comment the exact same thing. I LOVE that Vitamin C powder but have used it every single day since I got it and I’m about halfway through, so I still have whatever came in that black bottle last month on deck and now this.

Pink5

Agreed. This is the one thing I don’t like about Allure, that there is no real feedback mechanism like Ipsy has.

Boxycharm allows for product reviews, but they don’t seem to pay attention to subscribers’ likes and dislikes.

Louisa

Yep. I’m stocked up for at least a couple of years with serums and concentrates. I get that they are the high dollar items to attract subscriptions, but I would love to see some some summer stuff – make up. light lotions, pedicure sets, etc.

Reply ButtonReply

Pink5

Agree. I have to be careful with Vitamin C products, and this one also has niacinamide, which I also have to watch.

Reply ButtonReply

Deb Hegel

April was my last month of the year I purchased with Allure and I’m glad. They are too skincare heavy for my tastes and I just didn’t look forward to getting them every month anymore. The few boxes I got with makeup were fun but frankly, 99% of the skincare stuff they sent did nothing for my skin. Ready to try something new!

Reply ButtonReply

Yvette

Sorry for the duplicate comments. They don’t always show up right away when you post them.

Reply ButtonReply

Blue

I’m far from thrilled to be getting yet another vitamin C product from Allure. I still have most of the powder left even though I use it fairly often. It expires so quickly in serums and moisturizers and yet they keep sending them. I won’t be sorry when my annual subscription ends. I have no intention of renewing. I keep hoping they will suddenly turn things around and go back to producing really good boxes but it seems like they just don’t care about us customers. I also really didn’t want yet another Wander Beauty product. I’ve received several and in general it’s just not a brand that works for me.

Reply ButtonReply

Lana

That powder is totally stable till you get it wet, you can put it on hold for a bit or skip this box 🤷🏼‍♀️

Lux

Not dumb! We’ve discussed more than once on various box pages how things are “supposed” to go because depending on what you read you get different info.
Generally, the rule is 🍬thinnest/lightest (low viscosity, or most watery) to thickest/heaviest (high viscosity, or least fluidity), which is probably the simplest answer.🍬 There is some question about when to use oils, because obviously they can be quite slick and fluid, but it is also said that they create a barrier through which other products cannot penetrate, so should go last.
Trying to determine when to use what in order of product by name gets unmanageable (for me at least) almost immediately because of the ways words are used seemingly arbitrarily; e.g. I have 2 products called “serums,” one of which (by Pacifica) is very liquidy, partially oil-based and must be shaken before use, and the other is Sunday Riley’s CEO Glow 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum. How can they both be serums? They’re so different! So I default to the lightest to heaviest method, then close with an oil, if I’m using an oil.
I know I wrote a lot, but I hope you find it helpful one way or another! Good luck!

Reply ButtonReply

Lynda

I get the oil after serums but what about moisturizer? Does the oil go before or after moisturizer?

Reply ButtonReply

Lynda

Thanks Eva! Good information!

Eva

Hi Lynda, the way that Lux wrote things is 100% right on. I was taught to put moisturizer under oil. So use oil to seal in. Also not to rub the oil on top but to put in your hand and pat the oil on top. There is a skincare line I decided to try end of last year to see how it was and is called “Eight Saints” and in the instructions it is as I just wrote also. When I use products in this order I have to say by the a.m. everything has soaked in and my skin loves this order of items. BUT then there are exceptions for example Luna by Sunday Riley is a retinol oil and this needs to go directly onto skin. Same with even retinol creams I have which again state directly on skin. I use gentle retinol products at least as of what I have on hand and I have accidentally combined with other products 1 on top of another and it never worked as well as directly on skin. I hope this helps. Most times oil last step to seal.

Cat

I already was intending to get this box and I am down for this! I don’t think my skin likes vitamin C products but I still use them hahaha

Reply ButtonReply

Ash

My skin definitely doesn’t like vitamin c unfortunately

Reply ButtonReply

Izzie

Interesting, curious to try this as well.

Reply ButtonReply

Courtney L.

Wow this looks like a great box! Super surprised! This last box was horrible! Can’t wait for the rest of the spoilers!

Reply ButtonReply

Snow

Sounds like a dream vitamin C serum! I’ve been mixing my own with powder, but I would love to alternate between the two.

Reply ButtonReply

Tanya M

Snow, are using the vitamin c powder from the Nue company ? I am enjoying that one way more than the the powder I had from the Activist (not sure which sub) as the Nue brand powder is finer and really dissolves quickly .. also, the hyperpigmentation is markedly less notable on my face. Of course it could be because of combo with Skinceuticals Phyto Plus use as well … I am very excited to come off pause on this sub..

Reply ButtonReply

Snow

I’ve been using TO vitamin C powder mixed with facetory’s oats and squalane facial oil. The combo mixes and applies well. I still have the nue powder as well. At least the powders don’t go bad unlike serums!

Prettypony

I love the Nue Topical C Powered. I discovered in Allure, and it has done wonders for my skin. I love this product. I am out of it and I keep hoping Allure will add it to some special box, so I do not have to pay full price for it. I am cheap. <3

Lana

ok, the vitamin C seals the deal. Idk how they expect most subscribers to use up so many Vitamin C serums back to back, since they expire quickly, but the last two didn’t work out for me, so I’m ready for a freshie

Reply ButtonReply

Christina

Lol I was thinking the sage thing! I love trying new c serums but they keep sending them to us. I hope they stop sending so many vitamin c serums. Still happy to be a subscriber

Reply ButtonReply

Donna

Dumb question here, but where in my skincare “process” do I use Vitamin C? Do I treat it as a serum or do I use it as an additional product before my serum, after the cleanser/toner? Thanks!

Reply ButtonReply

Lana

You use it as a serum, after cleanser/toner, before moisturizer. If you’re also using other serums, be careful what you mix it with. I like to use vitamin C in the am, since it also boosts sunscreen performance and my retinol or AHA in the evening, since they make skin more sun sensitive. You can use it with a moisturizing non-active serum, if you need it. Mixing vitamin C with actives can either cancel them out or irritate your skin.

Reply ButtonReply

Tavia

If you are using a retinol product wait 20-30 minutes before applying vitamin C or serums with Vitamin C. I was using Sunday Riley’s CEO serum and the CEO moisturizer and a retinol and didn’t know this. I didn’t get any skin irritation with this combo, but none of the products were working after a month and since I had used the products separately with good results I didn’t understand what was going on. Then I read to space them out if you use them together and ta da, results! I try not to cry about how much money I spent on three products that basically all cancelled each other out. Now I just stick to Vitamin C during the day and retinols at night.

Reply ButtonReply

Bj

You should use it after cleansing and toning, before moisturizer. If you’re using another serum too it doesn’t really matter which one you put on first.

Reply ButtonReply

Sarah

OKURRR!!!! This is the first box I’ve been very into in a long time. Not cancelling!

Reply ButtonReply

Jenn

This May box will be the last box of my annual sub. Of course it’s looking good since the last 3 were duds for me. I don’t think I’ll resub though. I’ll just go to Amazon when there is a good box. Does anyone know the approximate time frame to order a certain months box from Amazon?

Reply ButtonReply

Mouthycole

I can’t remember exactly but I think if you want April’s box you can subscribe anytime during April. Mays box is available may first and I believe its available til the last day of the month.
Jeez, I dont really know for sure so why am I even responding to your question huh? Sorry. Lol

Reply ButtonReply

Whitney Earl

I’ve done well when I’ve subscribed in the month that I wanted from Amazon. I was just charged today for the May box . I’m always billed between the 15-17th for the next month’s box. You can always email them thru Amazon to ask, so you get the answers directly from the seller. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

This looks awesome and I am out of Vitamin C. Probably gonna get one on Amazon.

Reply ButtonReply

Tat

Wow. Well done.

Reply ButtonReply

Nat

Not tempted to cancel yet. This might be my 2nd box this year. Looking good so far.

Mimi

Ohhhhh I’m excited
