Every month, VetPet Box sends toys, supplies, and wellness items. You always get a pamphlet with information on a health topic (part of the benefit of subscribing is the health information, which is curated by vets; this month's topic was "ideal weight"):

Lickimat Playdate – Retail Value $7.99
I’ve seen food dishes designed to slow feed dogs, but this is a new product for me (they also make them for dogs). This requires a little more cleaning than I would like for regular feedings but is fun for dispensing treats, as you can see. If you have a cat who bolts too much food, this may be worth looking into; there are numerous styles and colors available.
Buddy Biscuits Tender Chicken Cat Treats (3 oz) – Retail Value $3.95 (found here for $1.49)
These are semi-moist treats. They’re made in the US and come in resealable bags for freshness. I’m always happy to see these in cat subscription boxes because they seem to be universally loved by my cats. These don’t stink and they don’t dry out as long as you keep the bag closed.
Buddy Biscuits Tempting Tuna Cat Treats (3 oz) – Retail Value $3.95
These are quite similar to the others except they are tuna-flavored. My cats like both flavors equally well. I have mostly been giving these to Madison when Sneaky is not around because he’s getting to be an old man and needs to keep some weight on.
Royal Canin Measuring Cup
I think this may be something that vets can buy in bulk because I can’t find this specific one for sale anywhere except eBay in the UK (though my dog and Madison and Monkey eat prescription versions of this brand of food). But it is nice to have cups with handles like this around for scooping kibble out of bags. If your cat is overweight you can use it for measuring too but my overweight cat (Sneaky) eats wet food, and Madison and Monkey are too skinny if anything.

Fat Cat Eeks Cat Toy with Catnip (2 count) – Retail Value $7.98 ($3.99 each, found here for $3.16 each)
Fat Cat toys usually get Monkey pretty excited and he did like these, but interestingly, Madison was even more into them, and yes, I did manage to get pictures this time. These are a great size for tossing and biting and even a bit of wrestling. (Activity like vigorous play is good exercise for kitties and thus fits with this month’s theme.)
Fat Cat Fluff Bunnies Cat Toy – Retail Value $4.49
Here is another Fat Cat toy but with a different texture. Monkey wanted to rub his face on this, which is just fine as far as I’m concerned. This is also on the smaller side and it has a lot of fluffy “fur” stuff (which, for what it’s worth, seems to be pretty well-attached).
Fat Cat Tail Chaser Cat Toy – Retail Value $4.49
Here’s another Fat Cat toy and this is one I haven’t seen before. I got Sneaky to sink a few claws into this one; it’s long enough to be an interactive toy. I appreciate the variety in textures and types for the toys as there’s sure to be something to please every cat.
Petsport Laser Chase II - Retail Value $4.99 (found here for $2.89)
Laser pointer toys are great for getting cats to run around. I have a lot of these by now, but I can keep one in all the rooms of the house where the cats go and use them opportunistically. (For the record I would not recommend letting large dogs chase these if you remember Nyx, she tore a knee ligament chasing a laser pointer, and that can be painful and expensive to fix. But cats don't seem to have the same trouble.)

Verdict: I calculated a total value for the March VetPet Box for cats of $37.84 not counting the food measuring cup. Although that comes in at a little bit under the month-to-month cost of the box, of course, the cup will add a little value, as will the educational material in the brochure. Also, for what it's worth, you can save with a multi-month subscription, and the value of this one averages out to be pretty high over time. In terms of the box contents, this was a great month. Pet weight is really important and I am currently struggling with one overweight cat (Sneaky, but to be fair she is on prednisolone for her asthma, which makes her want to eat a lot) and two underweight cats (Monkey and Madison) so this is a topic that’s been on my mind lately. The toys were really well-received and the Lickimat was fun and the treats were also well-liked.
