Stitch Fix Kids February 2021 Review

In our Stitch Fix Kids delivery, they always include an envelope with a prepaid shipping label for easy returns and exchanges. Usually, there is a sticker sheet, too, but ours was missing this month.

This is the invoice that was sent in the Fix. It provides specifics on the brand, size, and price of each item. They also give instructions at the bottom for how to check out and either purchase or return your items in the pre-paid postmarked envelope they provide. The items for my daughter came to a total of $216.00, but with the 25% discount (which they take off BEFORE they deduct the $20.00) and the $20 credit, our total drops down to $142.00. That's a savings of $74.00 on this Fix.

This is the included style sheet, which features pictures of all the clothing and a note from her stylist. I did tell her stylist that she'd really love a tie-dye dress, but unfortunately, she wasn't able to send one. She did try to make up for it by including a tie-dye tee though!

Blowfish Malibu Kids Venus Sneaker, Size 3Y - Cost to Keep $28.00

First, we have these really fun and cute sneakers. Liv loves that they are pull-on and she likes the tie-dye pattern on them. The colors are great, too, and will match just about anything. They fit her well, just a little bit of room at the toes, but these will definitely last her for a while. We've never tried shoes from this brand before, so I'm hoping they hold up well to her running around and playing!

Ci Sono Kids Jessie Fleece Hoodie & Short Set, Size 8 - Cost to Keep $28.00

This fun and casual set is fleece lined and Liv said it was super comfy. The quality seemed okay, but it was so basic that it felt like something I could probably find cheaper elsewhere. Maybe it was the unfinished hems that gave me that feeling? But it was cute and she liked it a lot! The fleece lining did make it super staticky, which made the shorts cling to her quite a bit.

RUMI + RYDER Val Fit and Flare Dress, Size M - Cost to Keep $24.00

I thought that this dress was going to be a clear winner, but when she tried it on, it just hung off of her tiny frame. We both LOVE the colors, the stripes, and the florals, and normally this silhouette would be super cute on her, but this is an 8/10 dress and it just really lost some of the cuteness with how long and droopy it was on her. It does have pockets which are nice, but I wish this was just a true size 8 instead.

Bixby Nomad The Basic Wide Waist Reverse Stitch Legging, Size M - Cost to Keep $12.00

These leggings are so pretty! I like the muted peach color and the butterflies are so unique in color! I love that they are different shapes and styles. These fit her nicely, too, and were a little looser than most leggings. You can see these pictured again below.

RUMI + RYDER The Everyday Graphic Tee, Size M - Cost to Keep $16.00

This tee is everything Liv loves -- it's blue (did I tell you her favorite color is no longer pink? *rolls eyes*) and it features a sequin unicorn with reversible sequins in pink and silver. Simple, fun, and cute! The shirt material wasn't as nice as what I would have expected, it was just a really basic cotton, and I think it would have been even better with a more silky stretchy material.

Love Glam Girl Danyca Cropped Graphic Hoodie, Size M - Cost to Keep $24.00

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this sweatshirt! It is so cute and super soft! I really thought Liv would love it, too, but unlike me, she was unimpressed. I thought the quality was great, it did have that raw hemline, but I thought that made the fit a little looser. It's actually supposed to be cropped, but it fit her more like a regular hoodie. I love the 80's style logo on it and I think it's just the cutest and I want one for me!

Crown of Hearts Leylani Pork Chop Pocket Brushed Jogger, Size M - Cost to Keep $20.00

Liv actually already has a pair of pants that are almost identical to these (I had to check the label to verify they were a different brand), so these weren't keepers for us, but they were super soft and cozy just like the pair she owns. The color is a fun one that has just a hint of purple to it, it has pockets (pork chop pockets! What is this term I've never heard before?!?) and fitted cuffs at the feet to make them fit better, but these were still probably just a bit too big on her.

RUMI + RYDER The Cap Sleeve Tee 2 Pack, Size M - Cost to Keep $24.00

This shirt is actually part of a 2-pack and the shirts are identical in style, but the other one is just plain navy blue. This striped pattern with the colorful graphics is fun and I like the cap sleeve style. The shirts are a little big on her, but there's room to grow. Again, these were just basic cotton, they kind of seem like the kind of cotton that would fade with some washings, but I'm not quite sure.

Tractr Mallorie Ponte Pant, Size 8 - Cost to Keep $26.00

Even though these were incredibly soft and made of that fabric that always feels cool to the touch, Liv still wasn't a fan. She will stick to leggings, I guess. I thought these were really cute and I loved the way they looked on her, even if they were a tad too big. These are basically like nice black pants that mimic jeans with the pocket and belt loop details at the waist.

Crown of Hearts Bee Side Twist-Front Pocket Tee, Size M- Cost to Keep $14.00

This is the tie-dye top her stylist sent and I love the soft, stretchy fabric (this is what I would have liked to see with the unicorn shirt!) that makes it so comfortable. The knot detail and pocket are adorable and the color is really great, too. I thought this one looked so cute with the back tucked into her Ponte pants! This one is a bit big on her, but this is one of those shirts that I could see her wearing this year and next since there is plenty of room to grow. Although you do lose some of the style since the knot isn't as noticeable.

The Verdict: We were pretty happy with this month's Stitch Fix Kids delivery. There were some items I thought would be clear winners, but ended up not working and others that looked better than I thought. Her favorite items were the shoes, the pink hoodie and short set, and the butterfly leggings. I really loved the sweatshirt (but for me!) and the dress, which I was totally bummed about the fit of. As usual, it was a mix of hits and misses, but overall, I think her stylist did a great job of trying to meet her style. This will always be a convenient way to shop and try things on for us and is much more preferable to store fitting rooms, so the styling fee is worth it to us!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this Fix if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its Fixes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. Value Breakdown: This styling service costs $20.00 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $216.00. The invoice lists the cost of each item next to it, but if I keep all of the items, then I get a 25% discount. The $20 styling fee for the Fix is applied to the purchase no matter how many items you keep, and in this case, it would bring the total down to $142.00. That’s a discount of around 34% for these items!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

I’m glad you kept the shoes. I want the tie-dye shirt for myself. I will have to ask my stylist for something in tie-dye.

I’ve owned multiple pairs of shoes by Blowfish and thought they all held up really well! I would think their kids shoes would be the same good quality!

Same! One pair I took with me on a trip to Japan, and they were very comfy and held up well to trekking all over Tokyo and Kyoto. Definitely recommend them!

Oh that’s so good to know! Thanks for sharing, Natalie! 🙂 She is definitely already putting them to the test and so far so good! lol

The shoes are the cutest! Kudos to the lovely model!

I’m with you on “unfinished” hems. Generally looks cheap and seems it won’t survive multiple washings.

Yeah, I just can’t see the unfinished hems withstanding her active lifestyle and all the washings! Haha. Thanks for commenting! 🙂
