March 2021 So Susan Color Curate Review

This month came without a product information card. Let's dig into the products!

Limited-Edition Makeup Bag, March 2021 - Retail Value $12.00 (currently out of stock)

This month's bag says "Celebrate Life Because You're Worth It." I love the bold colors and the pretty fish. The bag quality is always really nice so they make great gifts if you get a month where you aren't totally digging the bag design.

So Susan Cosmetics Fan Brush - Retail Value $18.95

This brush is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. The multi-length bristles are made with high-quality synthetic nylon & Taklon hairs. This is really great to use to dust off makeup fallout, to correct any mistakes, and to use to blend out bronzer or blushes if you go a bit too heavy-handed. The best use for this brush though is to add highlighter or mineral blushes and bronzers. The bristles are so soft which allows you to gently highlight your temples and cheekbones. I have not done a ton of highlighting right now, but once I am using less foundation and have more of a summer glow to my skin I will absolutely be using this to add a little highlight that goes on very naturally. Fan brushes are something that I just started using a few months ago and I really love them.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Rosebud Lips Overnight Conditioning Lip Mask, 0.47 fl oz. - Retail Value $24.00

My lips have been extremely dry suddenly over the past two weeks or so. I was really excited to give this mask a try! I've used this a few times at bed leaving on all night, but so far I haven't noticed a huge difference in my dryness. This mask is made to infuse your lips with moisture, combat dry and flaky skin, leaving you with replenished and plump lips. It is made with a blend of sweet orange oil, shea butter, orange peel wax, sweet almond oil, and rosehip oil. I am going to continue using this to see if it helps my lips over time, but right now I can't say that I've noticed a big difference in the texture of my skin.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Lighten Up Brightener & Waterliner - Retail Value $20.95

I've never used a brightening liner like this before, but I was really intrigued. Luckily for me, when I got this box, my Mom was over who is a makeup artist so she was able to sort of show me exactly how to apply it to my eyes. This is meant to give you a wide-awake look to your eyes simply by applying the liner to your lower inner rim and inner corner of eyes. You can also use this on your forehead, cheekbones, brow bone, and along the nose to add a little highlight. This is hypoallergenic making it safe for your eyes with contact lenses and is made with cocoa butter to help it glide easily onto your skin. I do feel like my application of this liner is a bit clunky, I can never get it blended just right but I am going to work on it because I really love the look that you can achieve with a product like this.

So Susan Cosmetics Palmeria Eyeshadow Palette - Retail Value $45.00

Oh I am in love with this palette! These shimmer shades are so bright and bold, and they go on so well. I don't have to use a ton to get full coverage, and it blends beautifully. These shadows are really saturated which means there is little to no fallout, which I love. Each shadow is made with agave, Amazonian lily, and carrot extracts to keep your skin healthy and hydrated and helps with wear throughout the day. I used the red shade and the deep purple so far and they are just stunning! I love that there is a mix of tones as well which allows me to change my look frequently in one palette!

Verdict: This month's So Susan Color Curate was a fun mix of products. I love fan brushes, but the one I have been using is pretty large. I was really surprised by how much I preferred this smaller brush as it gave me a much more natural highlight than my larger brush. While I am not totally into the lip mask, I am going to keep using it to see if the benefits show over a bit more time. The liner is another product that I have never tried before, which meant that I needed my Mom to sort of helping me with my application. I love the look that this liner can achieve so I am determined to get better at my application. The palette this month was beyond amazing. The colors are a fun mix, giving me unique looks that I can change from day to day. They are bold and shimmery without being too much, and they go on like a dream. This month has a value of $120.90 which is an incredible deal for a $20.95 bag. This bag is small but mighty! I love testing beauty products, it just makes me feel glamorous, and this box really brings fun month after month. I have come to really love their brushes as well which is surprising since sometimes I feel overwhelmed by brushes. If there is a product that might not work for you, they are always high-quality items that would be great to pass onto a friend. Beauty lovers, this is the box for you!

I love jelly pong. I had that brightening pencil a couple of years ago and also have that fan brush by so Susan. I am probably going to sub to this one in the next few months. Love what I’ve been seeing

That eyeshadow is rocking on you, Taryn! And your hair is so pretty. I’ll admit, I am a bit jealous. I tried a perm over a decade ago and my hair hasn’t been the same since (and not in a good way either.) They should have people sign a waiver before perming lol.

Thank you so much! I totally agree, perm at your own risk!

I don’t see how they stay in business when you can get 5 to 7 all full size items for less than $5 more from boxy or Ipsy or even Allure.
