This one was such a waste. Really an epic fail. This is my box #2 and after looking at previous boxes, the quality is obviously going down. I won’t be resubscribing. They charge too much for too little. And, really uninspired items. Honestly, in the time of work from home, a lunch bag? And yet, that might be the only thing I can successfully re-gift… Sigh…

Spring 2021 Breo box review
The Breo box used to be one of my favorite subscription boxes. Lately the value and my interest just hasn’t been there so I’ve decided to start putting the pencil to it and keep notes on the boxes so I can decide if I want to keep subscribing. Only one item is in this box that I will actually keep and use. Two items that I will keep and not use. One item that is totally trash, won’t use, can’t regift. The increase in clutter is almost unforgivable. The Zippo might regift well but it is definitely a right season (not spring, who needs a hand warmer in the spring!), right person, right gift item. The jump rope will be difficult to regift. The book and game are essentially trash to me. The bidet is intriguing but I suspect the amount of water is insufficient, most of these type of bidets are 20 ounces not 10. The OXO grater set is okay but I suspect (from personal experience) that the set is of limited use.
If you look at the values for the box at $159.00 dollars and a value of $213.78 is a savings of 25.6%. Not grand savings. The google savings if I went and bought these items on line is $173.00 for a savings of 8.5%. Not great for only one item that I probably wouldn’t have bought anyway. And the real world savings, I suspect the book and game will eventually end up on clearance tables for $3. The lunch box, bidet and grater set or close match for items can probably be found at TJMaxx/Marshall’s/Home Finds for half price. At that value, I lost money. I might have actually bought the lunch bag for $20. So I essentially threw away $139.00

I’ve been with Breo since 2018. Loved their boxes. Not so much lately.

What does everyone use their wooden boxes for?

C02

I use them for storage in an open office closet. The wood boxes use to be made better and sturdier. Mine was delivered broken with splintered wood. The last wood box (before they were discontinued) was also in pieces so I didn’t care that they cancelled them.

Nope

A plastic spiralizer? A fancypants jump rope? A dumb card game? Love the wooden boxes but I think it’s just as well that I canceled after seeing the full spoilers. Most of it is just not something I’d spend money on and the few things I would, I’d just as soon make my own selections. Sometimes this box is great and I find really good ideas for hard-to-gift guys in my family. But this one? I don’t personally know anyone who would want this stuff as a gift. I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

Perhaps another use for the travel bidet is instead of using it for hard to reach parts, it could be for hard to reach plants

Great idea! I find it dogfight to believe that anyone would actually want to use that as a bidet.. Send like it’s more trouble than it’s worth.. But the hard to reach plant idea is golden!

Dogfight. Lol😂

Laura

Ugh.. My autocorrect has a mind of it’s own..
dogfight = hard
send = sounds

For me, the items are great for gifts for upcoming birthdays. The box is MINE! I am doing a happy dance because I received a wooden Breo box. Thank you, Breo💃👏🏻🥳😁

We’ll use 5 out of 7 items. Nice to see name brands you can research with reviews! Tangram Smart Rope is awesome and includes battery, not another usb to charge! Love the Zippo Hand Warmer/Power Bank. Corkcicle bag very useful for car/beach snacks/drinks. Cute OXO Grater/Slicer will be handy for everyday use. Have no use for the the Tushy Travel Bidet but may have other uses: clean feet after the beach, camping shower, water for dog hiking….any other ideas?

IMHO, a Peri bottle works better for women (than the Tushy Travel Bidet) since it has a long, thin nozzle spray that can be used from the front.

Even though I have both a spiralizer and a mandolin, both are clunky and a pain to clean so I am excited about the OXO set. The lunchbox is cool too. I’m hoping the pools open up this summer so I’ll use it then. Those are probably the only 2 items I’ll use from this box. Not my favorite.

As for the wooden box, I know folks are happy it’s back but I’m not. The box arrived on trash day and the wooden box went right out in the trash that same day. I have 4 wooden boxes in use in the house and that’s enough. I like the colorful carboard boxes. They are lighter and easier to open. I use them for gaming stuff.

Yikes! You could donate the box or put on a FB Buy Nothing Group.

What a huge disappointment. Mine is arriving today. I ordered the last box and was pleased overall. I didn’t realize that I had been charged for this one until too late (my fault). I’m cancelling now and will wait for spoilers next time to see if I am interested in spending $159! I could have gotten something much better for that price.

I’m with you. Who doesn’t have a lunch bag? A jump rope that counts…meh. a squeeze bottle for your bootie? You will wind up with a wet butt that you have to dry with tp….what a mess. These trinkets are awful.
