Huda Beauty Pastel Mint Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette - Retail Value $29.00

I adore pastels and especially mint, but I always am left wondering if it is a range of shades that are wearable for me. Sometimes greens and blues can pull put the veins under my skin and make me look more than a little peaky. The genius of this little palette is that those fresh mint shades are paired with neutrals and sheer shimmer wash shadows. In fact, only 4 of these shades ended up feeling specifically green or teal to me. This means you get a whole lot of look options built into this one little square. You can go full minty-fun, keep it sheer and shimmery, or build a totally wearable nude look. The formulas were mostly awesome (the palest green needs a little extra encouragement, IMO), and mixing and matching them felt like a really great time. I had so much fun, in fact, that I built two eye looks for you to see:

First, here is a peek at the swatches. The second, fourth, and fifth shades are very sheer but incredibly dazzling. They work great alone for a subtle pop but also layer well over the brighter colors.

And here are two looks I created at the same time to show the versatility of this palette. I am also wearing the next product all over my face in these images.

Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder Compact in 'Highlighter 01', 7.3 g - Retail Value $45.00

As you can see in the shots above, if you use this all over your face you get a really radiant glow without looking too blinding. You can also focus your application specifically on places that you would normally place your highlighter too, I just went all in and used a big fluffy brush all over my face. This reminds me a lot of a MAC Skinfinish powder I used to never be without and while I liked the MAC better (and it was a little cheaper too!) I still find this to be a great dupe and a product I love. You can even use this on your collarbones and legs for a little extra glow.

I think we have a bright future together.

Rodial Soft Focus Glow Drops, 1 fl oz - Retail Value $60.00

I really disliked this product. First, it smells so strong. Most of you know I am a perfume lover and I generally don't mind scented products, but this is just harsh and reminds me of potpourri. The glow also ends up feeling a little "wet" looking and just sits on my skin. Add to that the issue of this product not playing well with others like my BB cream or even a regular foundation and this was a big miss for me personally.

Not for me.

Odacité Blue Aura Turmeric + Holy Basil Cleansing Water, 4 fl oz - Retail Value $39.00

What a pretty blue, right? It made me smile as soon as I pulled it from the box. As someone who tried to wash her face every night and still fails sometimes, a cleansing water like this is a great alternative. You will want to shake this stuff before you use it as it is a mix of aloe, oils, and plant extracts that can tend to separate when left alone to their own fun (you can see some of the oils at the top of the bottle in my photos above). Shake and then simply add some to a cotton round, and wipe away your day. You might need a few passes if you are wearing a lot of makeup, but I found this to be very effective and gentle. Of course, ideally, this would be the step before you actually wash your face properly, but in a pinch, it totally gives that clean feeling with or without a sink nearby.

tarte Tarteist Double Take Eyeliner in 'Black' - Retail Value $24.00

Black eyeliner, yes yes. Do I wish this was a fun teal, purple, or even green? I sure do. But if you are going to send me black eyeliner, this double-ended option from tarte isn't the worst option by a long stretch. The pencil is a true black and super smooth and smokey, while the liquid is jet black with just a hint of a sheen upon drying.

Top, pencil. Bottom, liquid.

Eloise Get Lit Metallic Foiled Liquid Eyeshadow, 10 g - Retail Value $42.00 (currently sold out)

This last item was pretty cool, though the performance could use a little improvement. Just one swipe gives essentially full coverage of this truly metallic foiled gold shadow. It is honestly a super cool look that I wish I had a reason to wear out. Where I feel it failed me a little is in my crease. The solid metallic finish seemed to fold in upon itself and got patchy. This likely would improve with more of a primer underneath or, perhaps, eyebrows that aren't super oily (I am gross, sorry).

Verdict: My BoxyCharm Premium had a value of $239.00 which is awesome for a $35.00 box. And I loved most of the items this month! The minty palette was a great springtime choice and all of the different looks I can create with it make it feel so much more versatile than expected. The baked powder is an excellent dupe of an older product I had forgotten I loved so much and I have been wearing it a lot. While I didn't love the performance of the Eloise liquid shadow, I totally think I could improve it with prep work on my lids and the finished effect is really dramatic and bold. The cleansing water is a solid addition and though the tarte liner was boring old black, it was still a very good formula. The only dud was that Rodial stuff, but with everything else so nice, I will let that slide.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I wish the selections were more age appropriate!

How often do you get six items instead of 5? I really like the liquid part of the eyeliner, but my sick portion never wanted to work. It would break, and for the little while it was fresh it would work, but the next time I came back it wouldn’t apply again.

Also Megan have you seen this upcoming bijou jewelry box? It’s Daisys.

You should get 6 items every box with the Premium subscription!

Really nice review, Megan. I agree with the others, that blue (teal, mint) is popping on you! I think you could get away with either eye look for certain.

Those rodial drops sound like a bit of a mess. I have seriously come to appreciate the less is more approach when it comes to make up. No matter how perfectly it looks in the morning, a few hours later everything gets a slidin’ ha ha.

I love it, too! I have super fair skin and don’t wear makeup. I mix a couple drops with my moisturizer or sunscreen and get a subtle glow.

Same, I got in an FFF box a while back, and I love it so much. Sometimes I use it as a primer, but mostly I use it on its own on no-makeup days to give me a bit of a glow. I’m very pale and tend to look sick/tired even when I’m not, and the Rodial really gives my skin a blurring/brightening effect. The scent *is* really strong, though, and I’m not a fan of how high benzyl alcohol is in the ingredients list.

I wouldn’t pay full price for it, but I’m happy to snatch it up on Mercari/Poshmark whenever it’s featured in a sub box. 🙂

Another great review Megan! I love how detailed and honest you are, and really appreciate your upclose non-filtered pictures. It’s tough reading reviews sometimes when people use a ton of filters.
