I don’t understand how everybody has been able to pick their choice item out of the 3. When I log onto Boxycharm, it states that I have to wait until April 19 to choose & then shop for add-ons. Why am I not able to choose yet. I’ve been a member for at least 2 ½ years I 7 also subscribe to the luxe box. Why am I being left out until that late date? Is there any way around this IDK about? And what’s this about Boxy & Ipsymerging or buying one out? Those happen to be the 2 boxes I subscribe to. I have aldo noticed the declining quality or at least the quality them in the boxes for the last few months. What would be the best alternative subscription box for the same type of products? Thanks for your help.

I’m only excited for the Farmacy product – that I was hoping would be a choice item. And I am interested in the Harbor serum, but afraid if I pick that skincare item then I won’t get the Farmacy. So I chose the Touch In Sol which is sort of a makeup item and I would be interested in trying out. I do have 2 Boxycharms base atm and chose the Harbor for the other one, but will probably cancel. Thank God for Pop Up though – I picked up more shades/flavors of the Kab gloss & a Kab blush to try. I also picked up Roen lip balm/gloss & the Lilah B blush/lip too. I have been really into discovering these nice (not so mainstream) brands. And am happy to check them out. I do wish they would include more of the quality items I see in Pop Up in the acrual boxes. I also got a Natasha Denona 5 pan. The Rose Quartz hair mask because I’ve heard so much good about it…
But like others have said, some of the items we get in these boxes are questionable at best and scammy at worst. Luckily I am open-minded to try new brands (like Maven from this last month*). I was really happy with all of my products in my Base box. Sadly, I only got the Luxe box for the Glow Recipe Plum and that was just about the only thing to be excited about. A $42 item. And I paid $50 for the box. I will use a couple of the other items I got, but it certainly could have been a pass. The other thing I am using is the Face/Eyes/Lips container. And that could easily be a $4 item found at Dollar General or TJMaxx. The box it came in is actually nice and I am reusing it to organize some of my other items atm. But that palette is beyond trash. There is NOTHING about it that I am interested in. So many of the shades were basically the same color and then it had 2 “pops” of color that were uninteresting too. I wonder who liked that palette??

I got the earth harbor in my look fantastic box and im not a big fan of it. It smells weird and made my skin feel oily no matter how little i used.

I’m glad I didn’t get the makeup brush holder. From what I’ve seen the box it came in was nicer than the actual brush holder.

I ended up cancelling. I couldn’t find an option to skip. After the horrendous Luxe I thought why get more useless rubbish. I think I am just mad that they sent me the wrong shade of Fenty foundation and now wont respond to me. It was the ONLY reason I kept Luxe. The rest of the items were like dollar tree tween items.

I decided to let them pick this month. I do wish I would have picked the Stuidomakeup when I had the chance. They are all gone now so I can not go back! Here is hoping I can get something good! I have been using another serum from Earth Harbor and I really like it, and that primer works good for me.

The Studiomakeup is still available for choice, you just need to “unchoose” your previous choice and it will show it available in 4 shades. Boxy is acting weird for choices this time.

Meh about all of them, may skip or cancel for April depending on spoilers and what’s in my March box.

I thought about trying the skin care item but I ended up choosing the touch in sol primer. I love trying primers and I have a few other touch in sol products that I like a lot so I think I’ll be happy with this one. I love getting skin care from boxy but I have plenty of that right now.
I’ve actually been disappointed with my boxes lately. I’ve been with boxy every month for over four years and my last three boxes have been some of the most disappointing ever. I always get at least a couple items I like and I feel I get my money’s worth, but I’m also getting a lot of products that are so bad I don’t even know why they’d be in a box. Some items are so obviously bad…if anyone at boxy has tried them or read reviews they would have to know it’s a poor product. Are they just blindly throwing stuff in our boxes or do they know the product is terrible and use it to fill our boxes anyway?
I often research some of the unknown/unheard of brands when their product is obviously below par. Some of these brands are scams! Why is boxycharm doing business with companies that are not legit? Are they just not doing proper research and vetting the company/product or do they know they are sending us products made by scammers? I’m cautious of using some of the products I get because I have no idea what might really be in the ingredients.

I heard about the price increase during sales, too. I’ve only bought $4 items since November for this reason. Some of their deals aren’t really good deals anymore.

I’ve actually been feeling disappointed also. I’ve had iffy boxes but never back to back. I feel this year my boxes have been lackluster compared to previous years. I have been thinking of going back to just the basic box. I usually like 2 items out of them all and its not love. I dont expect every month and every item to be amazing but lots of these products barely work, perform horribly, or are shades no where near something Id wear. Some seem super cheap or bad quality. I’ve also noticed between pop up, charm room, add ons, and boxes I’m constantly seeing the same items over and over and over. I agree it seems they are just throwing filler products in. I hope they get back to the good boxy I’ve been with for years

I’m wondering if they’re experiencing supply chain issues because if the pandemic? Like with the Barbarella palette… I have a hard time believing that was what they’d originally planned for a Luxe box. But if the planned palette fell through last minute because the brand couldn’t produce enough because of supply chain issues, then Boxy would probably be stuck looking for any brand that could promise them enough palettes for all the boxes. I think that’s why we’re getting filler items, and also so many repeats from past add ons and things. They have so many subscribers; their orders with brands must be huge in order to have enough to fill the boxes, even with so many variation items.
That said, there still should be a level of quality that they require. (That lip mask! Ugh!) Presumably they could be saving fewer products for pop up and add ons and just have a lot more variations in the boxes.

I hadn’t really thought about the pandemic causing it, but that makes sense. I have also wondered if it may have something to do with Ipsy buying/merging with boxycharm. Regardless, like you said, there’s still plenty of good inventory in add ons and popup sales so it seems like they could use some of those items to fill the box.
I also read an article about boxycharm raising their prices in add ons and popup (like what used to be $6 is now $9 and things that were $30 are now $50, etc). They supposedly did this because of the pandemic, but the article said that if sales don’t suffer because of the price increases then boxycharm will keep those prices permanently instead of dropping them back down after the pandemic is over. They assume if people are willing to pay more during the pandemic then they will be ok with paying the same once things return to normal. So a lot of people are suggesting to avoid shopping the boxycharm sales while prices are up so they will be forced to lower prices back down to normal. For this reason I haven’t shopped the sales since November. I had a moment of weakness on Monday and bought that big gold foundation brush for $9 (I desperately want to try it for applying self tanner).

Initially I wasn’t wowed by these choices, however I received a Touch In Sol primer very similar to this one last year and it ended up being a holy grail item for me unexpectedly. I’m actually really excited to try this new version of that!

Aww bummed with the choices this time.
I ordered the Natasha Denona products from add-ons instead and will cancel April. I might be back for May, Boxycharm had been good to me the past couple of months!

I’m not feeling any of these this month. I may cancel and see what May looks like.
