Boxwalla Beauty Box February 2021 Review

Here is our info card:

Let's peek inside!

Nini Organics Crimson Beauty Face Serum, 50 mL - Retail Value $94.00

If you can send me a skincare formula that I love AND that is gorgeous to look at, I am going to be really happy. Nini Organics does both really, really well. Their products come in this beautiful frosted glass that showcases the formulas inside which are always some sort of gorgeous color created by this brand's careful and thoughtful use of botanicals. This serum happens to be a very pretty ruby shade and it has a thinner gel texture. It also happens to be the brand's first water-based serum. The two big ingredients that the brand focuses on in its description of this product are Quora Noni (regulates oil production and helps with environmental disruptions. Hello maskne!) and Arabian Cotton which is antioxidant-rich and helps protect against blue light. With so much of my time being in front of a computer or behind a mask, this serum was exactly what I needed!! Though I do have drier skin, I found this was totally appropriate for me too because it also has hyaluronic acid and soothing extracts from cucumbers and roses. It also has a very pleasant and tart hibiscus scent that enhanced the whole experience and it layered well into my night routine.

Nini Organics Rain Hydrating Essence, 50 mL - Retail Value $48.00

Mist me all day. Seriously, hydrating mists might be my favorite sort of beauty product. The right formula can be almost as hydrating as a day cream! And the dewiness and antioxidant boost? Yes, please. This formula is the prettiest purple color, and that shade comes from the butterfly pea flower. The nozzle projects a heavier (but not aggressive) mist that has a botanical scent I can't quite place. Unlike most of my mists, I noticed a tingle when I used this one, and I am guessing that is from salicylic and lactic acids, both of which help with exfoliation and are acne fighters and the tingle wasn't unpleasant and didn't last long. I thought this mist was very hydrating and the ingredient list is stellar. Some other callouts: cucumber extract, neroli water, and hyaluronic acid. The whole effect was soothing, moisturizing, and refreshing. If you have been on the fence about mists in the past because they don't do enough for you, this is a great one to try because those ingredients get work done! You can use this before your Crimson Beauty Serum and throughout the day as you wish.

Nini Organics Halo Cleansing Elixir, 5 mL - Estimated Value $3.45 (buy 100 mL for $69.00)

Our last item is a mini sample of cleansing oil. As soon as I looked at it I knew there had to be blue tansy inside, and the first scent confirmed this. Blue tansy has a very distinct smell that I really love. It is also a really great ingredient for inflammation and redness. This paired with nourishing jojoba oil, antibacterial passionfruit seed oil, and vitamin E make for a really fantastic oil cleansing experience. I like to use oils on dry skin if I can and treat the cleanse like a mini massage, really taking time to rub my face in smaller circles and press on areas of tension. Then rinse or simply wipe with a damp cloth.

Verdict: This Boxwalla Beauty box let me do a deeper dive into Nini Organics, a brand I love more and more. Their formulas are artfully blended to showcase the best of the chosen botanicals, and they are just so fragrant and lovely! I thought pairing a serum with the mist was a great choice, especially since these two products work so well together. I also liked testing out the cleanser, though that sample certainly could have been a little bigger. Even so, this box delivered a great value, totaling $145.45 for a $49.95 box.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. This one actually arrived to us with a slight delay and beyond the subscription window for February. The April box looks awesome though! Click here for full spoilers.

Value Breakdown: At $49.95 for this box, here's how much you'll pay for each item:

  • Serum $32.28
  • Mist $16.48
  • Cleanser $1.18

Alternatively, each of the 3 items has an average cost of $16.65.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Does anyone know when we will receive April box? I ordered mine March 4th.

Kate

It hasn’t shipped yet. Usually ships mid-month.

Great review!

Megan can you talk about the change in the pictures with the posts? Although there are some boxes I like to read about before I decide if I’m going to buy, there are some boxes I get every month that I don’t like spoiled before they come.

?
This box was from February. March’s box already came. Did you mean for future spoilers? Unless you don’t open your shipments until you’re out of product, you would’ve already known what’s in this box.

My apologies. I thought I saw people sharing their boxes on Insta, but I think it was just Boxwalla sharing spoiler posts multiple days. The contents are indeed spoiled for April, not March! February felt like a lifetime ago–my cleansing oil was literally frozen solid. It’s now 80 degrees where I live haha.

Carrie

April has already been spoiled. You can check Boxwalla.

It wasn’t about this specific post. I use the site the site mobile and every post has a picture next to it of the contents instead of the logo.

Next box for BW is April. No spoilers yet.

Joy

Yes, it’s bimonthly, and April is next (not yet shipped). There was a Boxwalla Limited Edition box that shipped in March (FiftySevenKind products) but it had to be ordered separately from the subscription.

Wouldn’t the next box be the April one? They are bi-monthly, unless I missed a major update from them

This duo for oily skin is a must! I definitely will be repurchasing, totally keeps my oily skin at bay! I love it 🙂

I was so exited to receive these beautiful, fresh smelling Nini products in my box. I’ve been using the Essence and serum as part of my morning routine, which really gets me going for the day. My cystic acne prone oily skin loves it!
