Beauty Favorites

We know you love our monthly favorites posts so here's our monthly post highlighting our favorite BEAUTY discoveries from subscription boxes! Here are our favorite skincare, green beauty, and makeup items from the past month:

Ragan's Favorite:

Derma E night cream from Vegancuts Beauty box

The Item: Derma E Hydrating Night Cream

The Cost: $29.50

From: Vegancuts Beauty

ACTIVE DEAL: $40 off. No coupon needed - just use this link.

Why I love it: A full size night cream with a barely there scent and no artificial dyes is a nice thing to receive.  Derma E was already a brand I liked, anyway, and it's great to have a chance to try a product that has a reasonable purchase price in case you want more (also Ulta coupons usually work on Derma E items).  Although this is listed as being  for dry skin and I most definitely do not have that, it seems perfectly compatible with my (very oily) skin type. It  is non-irritating (my skin has been a bit sensitive lately) and doesn't clog my pores.

Taryn's Favorite:

Mascara from So Susan Color Curate January 2021

The Item: Trifle Cosmetics Truffle Intensely Black Volumizing Mascara

The Cost: $12.00

From: So Susan Color Curate

Why I love it: I am super picky about my mascara, but this brand won me over right away. My eyes are extremely sensitive so I have used the same mascara since I was a teenager because anything else that I tried always bothered my eyes. This did not so it was a winner from there, but then I was amazed at how well it applied. The wand is super big but not in a bad way, and the bristles are stiff, so they really work through your lashes. This works to add that clump-free application, and gives me so much volume without having to use an eyelash curler. It goes on without clumps and lasts all day. The mascara is made with jojoba wax, agave, and vanilla extracts, which coat your lashes to give them a silky shine. I am still using this mascara daily and loving the look it gives my eyes and lashes!

Christen's Favorite:

HELIOS Youth Ampule serum from Earthlove Winter 2020

The Item: Earth Harbor HELIOS Anti-Pollution Youth Ampoule, 1 fl oz

The Cost: Retail Value $48.00

From: Earthlove

ACTIVE DEAL: $5 off your first box

Why I Love It: This serum has been utterly saving my poor dry face this past month! It’s runnier than I usually prefer in an oil, and it sort of falls out of the dropper into my hand, but the serum itself is deeply hydrating and spreads nicely when applied with a pump of moisturizer. I’ve also used it on its own to target areas on my face that have been so dry they’ve been itchy. I’ve been really impressed with this product.

Becca's Favorite:

Cetaphil sample

The Item: Cetaphil Deep Hydration Healthy Glow Daily Face Cream

The Cost: Full Size $16.97

From: Walmart Beauty Box

ACTIVE DEAL: Limited Time Only! The gift is a sample of the Six Golden Nourishing Facial Oil that has a $9 value! This is only available for a limited time (until 8/22) or while supplies last, and can only be added to seasonal subscription sign-up.

Why I love it: I have acne prone skin so Cetaphil has been in my arsenal of beauty products for years. I am a fan of the cleanser, but wasn't familiar with this face cream, so when I received it, I was pumped. It is quite thick and leaves my dry winter skin feeling soft and supple without feeling greasy. Plus, it doesn't clog my pores which keeps my skin clear. A must have!

Naomi's Favorite:

Item Beauty Air Hug Concealer in Medium Warm Front for Ipsy Glam Bag January 2021

The Item: Item Beauty Air Hug Concealer in Medium Warm (#340)

The Cost: Estimated Value $4.00 (Buy a full-size 10.8 ml for $18.00)

From: Ipsy Glam Bag

Why I Love It: It’s so lightweight; a literal “air hug” for my face. The shade works perfectly for my skin tone ,and it does an impressive job hiding my dark raccoon like undereye circles, as well as breakouts and dark spots. I adore the airy, creamy, and hydrating consistency, which applies seamlessly without ever creasing, caking, or fading. I WILL be purchasing this product in full-size once it’s released.

Jessica's Favorite:

Florence by Mills Peel-Off Mask

Image via Florence by Mills.

The Item: Florence by Mills Mind Glowing Peel Off Mask

The Cost: $22.00

From: Ipsy Glam Bag Plus

Why I love it: I clearly am a subscription box addict- even with all of the boxes I review, I still subscribe to Ipsy Glam Bag Plus. I received this mask via that subscription, and I was honestly surprised by how much I liked it. I am very wary of peel-off masks because they can be incredibly harsh, and applying them is a time commitment because that mask isn’t coming off until it is fully dry. This didn’t hurt to peel off, it peeled off in one satisfying piece, and it really did leave my skin glowing. While the mask was on I enjoyed taking selfies of the metallic berry color, and now I strongly feel the need to try the calming version.

Jessica subscribes to Ipsy GBP on her own, so her box looked different from Megan's January Ipsy GBP box. Read more reviews by Jessica here!

I’m really curious about Earth Harbor products. There were several in this month’s BoxyCharm Pop-up.

I only have this one serum to go off of, but I’m super impressed! It costs more than I would typically dish out for a small skincare product, but that’s the joy of subscription boxes: they give you the chance to try items at a great value, and now I know I would GLADLY spend the money to buy this product again. I’d love to try their moisturizer, too!

I have not tried any of these products. The Florence Mills mask sounds fun. I have given up on peel off masks because they hurt but Jessica has convinced me to try it. Thanks.
