LiveGlam Brush Club February 2021 Review

It looks like we have 5 different brushes to play with this month!

Morphe M507 Pointed Mini Blender (Natural) - Retail Value $8.00

I really liked how this mini blender handled! It comes to a fine point at the tip making it great for packing a small amount of color into it. You can also use it to blend fine lines which are great for my darker shadows to blend them out without messing with the shade. It is also useful for lightly tapping highlight shades near your brow brown. Overall a really handy brush to have around!

Morphe M160 1/16 Angle Liner Brush (Synthetic) - Retail Value $4.00

This brush is perfect for applying a gel or cream liner. The angle allows you to get that perfectly straight, flat line while still allowing you to blend and shade. I didn't have any gel or cream liner at home to test this with, but I decided to use a dark shadow to apply as a liner on my undereye. It worked really well to get a clean line, but again, it allowed me the chance to blend and smudge a bit. While I can't say that I will get a ton of use out of this little guy, I was really happy with how it worked so I might have to go get some cream liner to have on hand.

Morphe R14 Round Contour (Natural) - Retail Value $12.00 (found on sale here for $6.00)

So after playing with this round brush a bit, I have landed on using it to apply my cream blush. It's working really well compared to the brush I was using before! The site says that this can be used to apply powder and blush, but it is best for applying contour to the hollows of your cheeks. The brush is more of a rounded dome shape, which is what makes it so great for applying and blending my cream blush, in my opinion. I did notice some pieces of the bristle fall off recently, but hopefully, it was just a few random pieces. Otherwise, I am really loving using this every day!

Morphe M562 Tiny Crease Blender (Synthetic) - Retail Value $6.00

This was the only brush this month that I didn't love. I found the bristles to be sort of flimsy so it didn't allow me to really get in there and blend out my shadow. It felt really small and delicate so maybe it would be better for light blending in smaller areas or with lighter shades. The site says that this is a crease brush to help create transitional effects. What did you think of this brush and what are you using it for?

Morphe M408 Chisel Shader (Natural) - Retail Value $6.00

This is a really strong shading brush that is small but can really pack in color and help blend. This works to create a defined placement of color, especially in smaller areas. I watched a few MorpheMe videos on how best to use this brush and they recommend using it to "smoke out your lash line." I can't wait to play with this brush a bit more especially to build a special occasion smokey eye.

Verdict: This month's Brush Club was packed with 5 brushes! The brushes were all on the smaller side but packed a big punch in helping to build and blend out a complete look. My favorite brush this month is the round contour because it really changed my cream blush application. I was also able to learn a lot about how best to use the chisel shader and the mini blender. Sometimes all it takes to level-up your makeup application is receiving a new product and researching it! Even if I receive a brush that I might not use that often, I am still blown away by the quality of these brushes and I love adding to my collection.

Sad that the crease blender isn’t as expected. It really helps to have a nice brush to really smooth and transition shades of shadow. Well, maybe it will become better with use, fluffing a little stiffer.
